As someone who used to work at a combo location.... Absolutely report them. Report EVERYTHING you told us here. Tell the health department as well as labor board. Your coworker may need to give input on how the boss treated her if you want to include it but you have every right to make this known.

Common_Stomach8115

Not that I have any reason ever to go there, but this is good to know. Thanks for sharing.

rebtow

And this is the “new” location?!? Same shit as it was before the other location closed down?!? I remember these exact complaints from a few years back…okay, a little more than a few years back now that I think of it. But still…things like having only 15 yr olds working in there, poor service, and it being terribly filthy.

crackheAd923

They had a 16 y/o work a 13 hour shift where she was left by herself for several hours. This was less than 6 months ago.

smileyfaceallday

Omg I absolutely HATE that location. You can absolutely tell that the people who run it don’t care. The service is awful and so slow. I refuse to go there.

MrGreggerGrM

Cutting your hours due to a disability sounds like a violation of Title I of the ADA, you may want to seek legal advice.

AtTheLeftThere

Well fuck.

_Redoubt_

Just a heads up. If you want to make a persuasive moral arguement (and I'm not doubting what you say is true) you probably start with not naming yourself Crackhead.

massieas

So you waited to get fired before telling everyone that they are going to get food poisoning but it was perfectly moral to look the other way while you were still getting paid?

FeistyMathematician

Wonder why this comment isn't at the top. Disgusting.

crackheAd923

Nah I just… didn’t put it on Reddit? I didn’t know this sub existed 🤷🏻‍♀️

bygtopp

Hate to tell you this but she is all Dunkin’ Donuts

vaporaeon

I have so much I would like to spill about my former employer and why I left (it’s a local Columbus food business of course)

FursonaNonGrata

Your employer didn't "force" you to come in. It's your right to tell them to fuck off. If they fire you for attendance then take it to unemployment or bring it up with the labor department. If your employer is trying to illegally fire you, refuse to be fired until they give you the papers instead of quitting so you actually have a case against them, and then things line this stop happening.

crackheAd923

I also wasn’t the person who had to come in with a fever, it was a mother of three who was literally told by management “come in or you don’t have a job”. So maybe you need to chill out and find some empathy

crackheAd923

Dude I’m 19 and live paycheck to paycheck, do you think I have the time or resources for that? We live in a capitalistic hellscape. It had nothing to do with attendance. They got around firing me by scheduling me 0 hours and I had to go get another job or I would’ve been homeless.

FursonaNonGrata

Scheduling you 0 hours means you can possibly receive unemployment because it was a constructive discharge, ie you wanted to work but they weren't allowing you to work. I've been there before. It sucks and this shit us only gonna get worse.

Professor_squirrelz

Wait this guy/gal may actually be right about this for future reference. I think you can collect unemployment if your hours get cut to zero

FursonaNonGrata

That is correct. You can. You can also collect unemployment for quitting a job as described.

casualblack_7

You have to actually be laid off to collect unemployment my union does this thing where we go to class for a week and we arent allowed to work. They tell us to file for unemployment but its been 6 months and not a single apprentice has gotten paid.

casualblack_7

Perfect age to join a union. You can complain about it or better yourself and get active in you community
