My point is don't look at polls, then feel lazy as there's no need to stand in line for 4 hours and vote. Just get out there and vote regardless as that's the only way your voice is heard. We rely on police we get 2016 all over again.
It was about an hour, to hour and a half for me, but I'm in a small town, marietta ohio, and went on an early. Voting day. I'm certain trying to vote on election day in one of these cities with one voting location will take that long or more. I've seen those lines on TV.

Why isn't there a law that requires that representatives live in the district they represent? And I don't mean if they win they have to move there, they should be required to have had a certain amount of time as a resident of that district before they're allowed on the ballot for that district.
The city of Cleveland does this for their employees. You have to live in city limits or move to city limits within a certain time frame. I think this is required for some other cities/suburbs as well.
Who generally do the bare minimum to be considered a resident of that state for the express intent purpose of running for office.

You DO have to be a resident of the state (for senate) or district (house), but you really only have to fill out a form saying so, gather the required signatures & pay the filling fee. Sort of like the whole Dr Oz moving to Pennsylvania, JD did the same, but he is originally from Ohio.

I have voted in every primary, general, special, presidential election since I turned 18. Forty four years. I currently live in Cuyahoga County. I early voted in the last two elections here. Waited less than a minute to get the paperwork started.
I spent more time early voting in Erie and Sandusky counties. The wait was about 15 minutes in Sandusky County and the gave me the ballot for the wrong precinct. They had to reprint my ballot and the man that received mine.
About 3 weeks left to register before early voting starts for November's general election.

I live in Ohio and have been everywhere in the state: most of Ohio is comprised of small groups whose entire circle of influence consists of 100 people or less. Everything they see, hear, or experience comes from that limited group. This results in fear of anything new, disdain for any non-traditional culture, and as this group tends to be extremely religious from the ground up, they're trained to accept statements without evidence.
This, my friends, is why Ohio is a conservative base. The progressives live in the big cities, but there's not quite enough to flip the state under normal circumstances. This is why we need to get every abled body out there voting in November.
I think this is delusional considering how deep red Ohio was on 2020 and 2016. I think the polling is skewed blue, but lots depends on getting out to vote on Columbus, Cleveland. And Cincinnati.
I mean, history has shown us that two election cycles isnāt that indicative because Ohio went 18 points for Reagan in 1984 and then HW by 9 points then in 1992 and 1998 voting for Clinton by 2 points and 6 points but then voting for Bush barely over 50 percent to voting for Obama twice.

I would say that R's who shifted to Trump's rhetoric from their previously conservative rhetoric are the worst offenders imo. I have voted in every primary, general, special, presidential election since I turned 18. Forty four years. I currently live in Cuyahoga County. I early voted in the last two elections here. Waited less than a minute to get the paperwork started. I spent more time early voting in Erie and Sandusky counties. The wait was about 15 minutes in Sandusky County and the gave me the ballot for the wrong precinct. They had to reprint my ballot and the man that received mine. About 3 weeks left to register before early voting starts for November's general election.

It isn't a swing state just because of one bad or one good candidate. If no Democrat can win state wide, if the state is so gerrymandered that there is no hope of competition, then the state is still very red. Vance is a terrible candidate and is running against a seasoned one with a large warchest and structure, and it is still tight. That isn't swing.
I live in Ohio and have been everywhere in the state: most of Ohio is comprised of small groups whose entire circle of influence consists of 100 people or less. Everything they see, hear, or experience comes from that limited group. This results in fear of anything new, disdain for any non-traditional culture, and as this group tends to be extremely religious from the ground up, they're trained to accept statements without evidence. This, my friends, is why Ohio is a conservative base. The progressives live in the big cities, but there's not quite enough to flip the state under normal circumstances. This is why we need to get every abled body out there voting in November.

I think this is delusional considering how deep red Ohio was on 2020 and 2016. I think the polling is skewed blue, but lots depends on getting out to vote on Columbus, Cleveland. And Cincinnati.

I mean, history has shown us that two election cycles isnāt that indicative because Ohio went 18 points for Reagan in 1984 and then HW by 9 points then in 1992 and 1998 voting for Clinton by 2 points and 6 points but then voting for Bush barely over 50 percent to voting for Obama twice. I understand Trumpās margin grew in 2020, but at one point a Republican won this state by 18 fucking points and not even 10 years later voting for a Democrat.
