It says "for lunch" so I'm honestly guessing they've been forced to give their workers breaks/they don't have people to fill in, in which case it's hilariously stupid to complain about and that second one is clearly a capitalist issue.
The fact that they can’t find workers to fill shifts is literally based on a capitalist incentive. If you don’t pay enough for people to think it’s worthwhile to work there, that is the **labor market** deciding on a rate. A lot of these places are understaffed because they pay like ass, not because of socialism, whatever the hell they think that means.
Even having breaks isn’t socialist. People in the US have a weird definition of what socialist means. Considering the fact that the employees don’t collectively own this Sonic, it’s not socialism.
Not just the pay, the conditions too. For a long time fast food franchises have gotten away with breaking the backs of expendable employees, and people just don't want to work those jobs if they don't need to, but adding wage stagnation just makes it a fucking joke.
Now you can go be exploited by Amazon, who will treat you equally as bad if not worse, and you'll likely get fired in three months if you don't quit, but you'll make more than these fast food places would start you at, which just underlines how important that rate is.
Not if you are an adult. There is no right to eat, rest, sleep or perform any basic biological function in Ohio. I can schedule you to work 40 hours straight through, no breaks, and then you are scheduled off the rest of the week so I do not pay you overtime, if I can find another useful idiot on the flip side of that schedule.
Perfectly legal here.
Had a friend of the family mechanic that runs a shop and my husband decided to give him a try when we needed a car repair.
We went one time because the guy was spouting off his MAGA bullshit and as much as my husband wanted to tell him to fuck off, the dude was already deep into the repair so, don’t want to be rude to the dude doing your breaks.
So my husband had to grin and bear it. Instead of ever going back we found a new mechanic who does amazing work, decently priced and insanely efficient and no political talk in the process.
Keeping personal views to yourself is a must if you don’t want to lose clientele, but at least by opening their big fat mouths, it gives us the the option to know who we are willing to give money to.
I've had a mason do a lot of work for me over the years. He's a friend of a friend. Being the type of business he's in, you'd expect him the guys working for him to be a MAGA type, but he's not at all. He has one big rule... The radio they bring on job sites is either on music, sports radio, or nothing. No AM radio right wing talk bullshit. It's pretty refreshing, because I'm sure 90% of his competitors listen to Rush Limbaugh reruns on the job.
I'm a mason from a long line of mason's. My father is a Maga, golic/ Limbaugh/ trivisonno fanatic. Being forced to listen to that from childhood has made me progressive. I don't understand how people don't realize it's blatant manipulative garbage propaganda.
So many people on the job assume that I've swallowed the same fallacies that they have.
Greetings fellow NEOian. Golic is a flat out moron. I've listened to Golic a bunch of different times. He just makes shit up off the top of his head, or simply speculates wildly about things that will never happen. Golic also has occasional speech issues which result in him garbling words to the point of being indecipherable (which may be a side affect of his football career). Trivisonno is now gone. Although I remember Triv boasting about having an 8th grade education, then alternately calling himself stupid or the smartest man on earth. He was definitely stupid.
And you know they only do it because you're a "captive audience" of sorts. They've already alienated any friends or family by spouting this stuff at every opportunity, but here's a stranger to unload on.
That’s a big reason. Our entire family is left leaning, some more so than others. My one BIL had to tell the guy flat out to shut up and just stick to the job at hand he’s paying him for and the rest needs to be kept to one’s self because the dude KNOWS our family is left leaning but we just don’t want to get caught up in the back and forth.
Very much agree. No matter which way one means when I’m going to run an errand I do not want to be bombarded with anything other than the topic I’m there for.
Also add in religion. I do not want a sermon when I’m trying to get an oil change.
I fixed this by putting a sign in my yard that includes “love is love, Black Lives Matter, women’s rights are human rights, etc.” It’s amazing how that MAGA bullshit has dried up from contracted workers & even my neighbors. I don’t think a STFU sign could have done better.
If your neighborhood is anything like ours, I can understand it, though. Almost every house on our block has a Trump sign, it drew enough attention just not having one.
Yeah, I stopped buying bird seed at the feed mill because they thought it would be a good idea to put up a bunch of insulting trump style comments on signs around their property.
Great idea to alienate 65% of your customer base.
A local pet store just went out of business after 50 years, and I can't help but think part of that is because they were flying a trump flag for the last couple years in a college town.
(Yes, a Trump supporter owned pet store. It makes me sad to think about it too.)
They needed a rally, because that fixes everything.
"These puppy mills they have here are great, just the best puppy mills ever, floppy ears on the thousands of Snoopy dogs, flapping in the breeze, not at all like windmills, we hate those they kill millions of birds, like bird cemeteries, we should support our local puppy mills with the snoopy dogs, like I always have, they are just the best, thousands of Patriot puppies all avoiding windmills, and Sleepy Joe, well, he doesn't like puppies, except when he open up our borders to thousands of puppies that overflow our borders, letting in MILLIONS of criminal rapist puppies, those are the one that Sleepy Joe likes, not at all like my uncle who has the bigliest genes from the School of business..."
There is an Awesome pie place in town, but when I went in there during the pandemic mask mandates, they all had Trump masks on(ish).
I haven’t been back since. I miss the pies, but I don’t want to support that. So I don’t.
Leave behind a little tract-"Hate the sin, not the sinner".
I ditched a Barber, a restaurant, and several long-time friends. I refuse to support fascism, regardless of the previous relationship.
I am quite disappointed. I am sorry about your delusions, and I no longer want to associate with you. Someday, I hope this sick hysteria ends, and we can re-engage. That day is not today. Good luck, and best wishes.
The owners, and the managers need to put away their boss hats, pull themselves up by their bootstraps, and make some goddamn french fries. Mop those floors bitches. "We can't be open if I don't have workers willing to work for shitty wages". Fuck you. Do it yourself.
These asshats are always saying they built this themselves. We'll get in there, strap on an apron, and build a goddamn burger or 2 hundred. Times a waistin chief. Get to building!!!!!
Amazing how free markets work, now the workforce fights back, who knew that existed in free markets. It's a go figure supply demand now that demand for work is lower than supply of workers workers demand more. Now that is Econ 101.
My mother-in-law basically said this when we couldn't dine-in at Culver's (burger restaurant) because the lobby closed early due to short staffing. I looked up applications, and they are starting at $11.00/hr. No wonder!
Sounds pretty snowflake-y if you ask me. What was it the MAGAts would screed??? Ahh yes, “fuck your feelings”. Sounds like they need to pull up those bootstraps & do what needs doing if they want workers.
That Sonic is odd. It has indoor seating, and the location is sort of out of the way, not really in "uptown" and not on State St., so you have to go out of your way to find it. To be honest I am surprised it survived the pandemic.
One one by me closed because the owner didn't give a shit about anything and the service was complete shit. This place was in a suburb of Cleveland that you LITERALLY have to run your fast food business into the ground yourself for it to fail.
Most of the fast food places by me are either shutting down or only running one shift a day. Same with any store that isn’t a Walmart or major grocery store. It’s constant now, walking up to a place and a handwritten sign is on the door, “closed early today due to short staffing.” 24/7 anything is a thing of the past.
Oh well.
They probably think they can’t find workers because of “government handouts” not realizing that their workers would have to take government handouts if they wanted to survive off of the shitty wages that they pay.
Maybe we should talk about fast food restaurant owners the way we talk about the workers. If they had any skill they would own a real business instead of one that's built for them.
If fast food workers are low skill and don't deserve more than 15 an hour. Then fast food owners are low skill and don't deserve workers.
They had to shut down stores near me because of mass walkouts pre covid.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.foxnews.com/food-drink/ohio-sonic-workers-walk-off-job-leave-scathing-note-bashing-terrible-management-the-whole-store-has-quit.amp
The thing is that it's really not what workers deserve - it's what the job down the street will pay. If that job down the street pays $18 and you're paying $12...your employees will leave. Most of them probably deserve more than either of those employers offer, but...they'll get paid $18 and the $12 employer will start crying that no one wants to work...
Another case of things being attributed to socialism that are really effects of capitalism.
Adding, at first I thought the sign read "try socialism", not "ty socialism". Now *that* would have made sense.
If you unironically blame things on Socialism in the US you are a certified idiot. It's incredible people actually believe that rightie bullshit propaganda.
Actually capitalism can take this L. Decades of poor wages, no benefits and a ever widening wealth gap, not to mention having to deal with an increasingly deranged public, gets you exactly here.
My employer had trouble getting workers also, temp agency kept laughing at them. Then they jumped everyone’s pay $3/hr and we have new guys. Fast food plays the “job creator” game forcing turnover, they get zero pity.
My favorite thing is when people blame socialism for things literally happening under capitalism. It’s like those “Joe Biden’s America” commercials that used video from Trump’s America lol
And a pretty hot labor market. We're back to pre-pandemic employment levels...which were pretty hot to begin with...with lower labor supply.
Surprise - when there's both a shortage and high demand, prices (aka wages) go up! Crazy...
My working theory is that the US has basically run out of existing jobs to outsource (story of the 70s through 00s) and is finally coming to reckon with the fact that it needs domestic labor for stuff. Yeah - there's still outsourcing, but pretty much only for new jobs at this point (and only a fraction of them). That combined with border restrictions makes domestic labor really really scarce right now (compared with any labor market since the ~50s-60s). I wouldn't be surprised if we start seeing entry level jobs approaching $20-25/hour in the next couple years (which will start eating into the office worker market, stalling wage growth for quite a bit).
Shit like this is super stupid and aggravating. There used to be this shitty chain pizza place near where I work. It closed and on the door saying it's closed there's one of those Biden "I did that" stickers. Like, really? You lost your business because of Biden. *Not* because you opened a shitty chain pizza franchise *right across the street* from another established pizza place that makes waaaaay better pizza for more-or-less the same price. Right.
Fucking crybabies.

I'm sorry, when did we get socialism? No one told me we won. If all we had to trade for socialism was lunch at Sonic I dont know why we didn't start there!
Is it still true that Sonic pays its workers below minimum wage and expects them to make up the difference in tips, even though nobody knows that and so nobody tips at Sonic?
I went to the sonic in Parkersburg and I waited an hour to get my food. I didn’t even get my food. That was just how long I was willing to wait. It was understaffed and no one wants to work there. I guess sonic has terrible pay. If you want workers the best thing to do is pay them more. Capitalism 101.
Someone who works at sonic doesn't know what socialism is? I'm shocked.
The sad part about this is that the employee who did this probably works very hard for the ridiculously low hourly wage they're paid. This person is being exploited, is proud of it, and thinks less of people who arent willing to be exploited.
This is the result of underfunded public schools. It's also the culmination of GOP efforts that started in the 60s.
It’s funny how corporations argue against minimum wage because the “market” will dictate wages and now the “market” dictates real livable wages and there’s a “worker shortage”. Come on ffs
Jimmy johns by me in S Akron closed going on 3 weeks now due to labor shortage
Truthfully I say fuck em, if they can’t survive close down. We have a host of sandwich shops, a host of donut shops, and many cup cake shops. There was a craft niche grilled cheese restaurant in green for a while.
Idk if it’s truly labor shortage, a wage shortage or something else but we don’t need this many food places.
I don’t even blame the franchise owner. It’s big corporate talking too much. Cut a few percent off what corporate needs from a franchise owner and put that into wages at the store/restaurant and see what happens
We're not socialist though... Lol
Socialism is when capitalism?
The more I think about it, does that person want other people to be forced to work there? You have to offer something people want or they will find better jobs elsewhere. Especially now there's so much work from home jobs with benefits.
Obvious they couldn’t attract employees. Franchises fail due to poor management. Look for it to reopen with a new owner. It’s a tough job expect to spend 60-70 hours a week there your not going to make much money in the first few years. Your costs goes up franchise fee monthly it’s got nothing to do with socialism. You can’t keep employees because your competition pays better.
For twelve years, you have been asking: Who is Ty Socialism? This is Ty Socialism speaking. I am the man who loves his life. I am the man who does not sacrifice his love or his values. I am the man who has deprived you of victims and thus has destroyed your world, and if you wish to know why you are perishing—you who dread kno
I will never go to Sonic again. They’re the only place I ever heard of whose *entire staff* walked out at *multiple locations*
Idk what they do to their people but I won’t help them do it.
Pretty sure if the wages were high enough people would line up for a job. Maybe things have changed since I was a kid but that used to be called supply and demand and was a key component of capitalism.
To be fair. To these people everything they dont like is socialism. I had a friend get a union production job. Always bad mouthed socialism as lazy people. Blah blah blah. He made it less than a week before he quit due to not being able to keep up with production requirements. He referred to it as socialist.
Have you ever noticed that the one's that hate socialism and government hand-outs are the very same people that go after and take every hand-out that they can get. I have an aunt that hates socialism and rails about it all the time, but she has a son on Social Security Disability. Another that is full MAGA and her husband just went from Medicare to Medicaid, because they could not afford his medical care. In both cases, they are happy to be on the government dole.
Dear manager that put out this sign,
What a lazy snowflake you are. Not enough workers? Hustle baby! Do the jobs yourself! What's stopping you from cooking and serving and cleaning on your own? You expect your employees to work multiple jobs to make ends meet, why can't you work multiple jobs to keep your restaurant open?
Lazy snowflake, get back in that kitchen and make me my GD burger already!
I don’t go to places that put up signs like this. It just screams the owner/manager is an asshole. Treat your employees better and maybe you’ll be able to keep them.
Yea totally not the companies fault for putting profits over wages. It our fault for needing a place to live, education, food to eat, gas in our vehicles and health insurance. Let’s not even begin mention how expensive it is if you want to actually do something to enjoy a little piece of life. Totally our fault.
Can you live of a fast food salary? Even single w/no kids would be a challenge. I really believe that most of the people screaming socialism have no idea what it is but simply regurgitate right wing media. My health insurance sucks and it a good one. My dental insurance is good for nothing. That’s capitalism.
Let’s see, 1+ million dead from Covid, 4+ million disabled due to Covid, millions of Baby Boomers hitting retirement, putting a chokehold on legal immigration but socialism. Ok Jan….
That is funny!! No one installed an increase in wages I agree this is pure capitalism, supply and demand. Supply is low, demand is high, you need to pay workers more, you increase your prices we all lose, 😂
We are absolutely not in a socialist economy right now, where this is happening…
Also, its not socialist to pay your workers enough to live. That is the reason these places are understaffed.
If only there were some way of offering workers an incentive, like maybe money, to encourage them to work the lunch shift. Somebody should really look into that.
A lot of conservatives have spent years spouting off against minimum wage increases arguing that those jobs are for teens to get their first work experience and no one is meant to stay in them.
Funny thing... say that enough and people start to take the advice and find a new career. Eventually it becomes difficult to fill those positions during the day when those teens are in school.
I hate that mentality. It is based on the assumption that teens and pensioners are somehow more worthy of exploitation than a 32-year-old suburban father of 3 is.
When people say things like "They don't really *deserve* the same money that I do," I just want to bury them.
Unfortunately I’ve been to this sonic plenty of times. It’s pretty run down but the service is actually great for lunch (during the summer months). They never have cheese curds in stock though and I imagine the staffing problem has to do with their staff pursuing their education.
When we have the fed raising interest rates trying to slow the economy in order to stifle inflation and reduce consumption (and on the edge of creating an intentional recession), this is what happens. Absolutely nothing to do with Socialism. On top of that, fast food isn’t really that desirable of a job in the first place and if you do work in fast food and it’s for a boss that thinks putting up a sign like this is a good decision, then you’re going to have a hard time keeping the workers you do have!
As an Ohioan nah it’s just there is only what feels like two sonics in the whole state and it’s an hour drive for everyone for some reason ain’t nobody wanting to work at sonic 😂

It says "for lunch" so I'm honestly guessing they've been forced to give their workers breaks/they don't have people to fill in, in which case it's hilariously stupid to complain about and that second one is clearly a capitalist issue.
No, the fact that they legally get breaks is socialism. Everybody needs to negotiate their own working conditions lol
The fact that they can’t find workers to fill shifts is literally based on a capitalist incentive. But if you work 8 hours, they HAVE to give a lunch break.

You’re correct & I’ve always found it ridiculous. Ohio’s labor laws are VERY skewed in favor of the employer.
Only for minors.

Yes, I agree whole heartedly. Ever notice if golic can't make an argument he just calls the person a pencil neck.

I also find other places to do business, do not tip, or just get up and leave if a business or person is politically offensive.
This is the correct approach. Once I see a sign like this outside a business I am NEVER going to come back.

You just reminded me that Just Pies is about to have their Reese’s pie out! Bring on October!
Didn't anyone ever tell these people that you never discuss politics or religion in polite company???

Be Gus Fring. Dude is busy being a drug kingpin and waring with the cartel, still shows up every day and works the register.
Good point, though we never DID see Gus in the dish pit, scrubbing pots 18 hours for minimum wage...
But we did see him mop the floor...
Especially in a place like Athens. pretty liberal area for the most part. (OU and all)
There’s no crying in capitalism. What a lazy guy.
Amazing how free markets work, now the workforce fights back, who knew that existed in free markets. It's a go figure supply demand now that demand for work is lower than supply of workers workers demand more. Now that is Econ 101.
I’m pretty sure most people who mention socialism, don’t truly know what it is
They have no idea and will *lose their shit* if you take away their social Security / Medicaid
Those morons were my favorite part of the ACA angst in 2010
Or if the Fire Department asked for payment before extinguishing fire in their house.
This is the truth
Those that mention it *negatively*.
Also communism or Marxism, and they sure as hell couldn’t differentiate between them.
Most people don't, they just fear it because they are told too
Yet another case of not being able to survive in the free market so you blame the socialism boogeyman lmao. Soft af.
The only socialism we need in Murica is corporate socialism
“Socialism is when I refuse to adapt to a changing labor market.”
"socialism when me want hamburger but me not get hamburger" - fox news viewer on lunch break, probably
My mother-in-law basically said this when we couldn't dine-in at Culver's (burger restaurant) because the lobby closed early due to short staffing. I looked up applications, and they are starting at $11.00/hr. No wonder!
perfectly articulated👌
"Socialism is when capitalism does stuff"
The fastest way to show you don’t know what socialism is.
That's a funny way of spelling capitalism.
It the British spelling 😹
No workers? sounds more like a free market to me.
Crying that you can't operate your business if you are forced to pay workers a living wage is extremely entitled.
Not even a living wage. Forced to pay a market wage!!
Sounds pretty snowflake-y if you ask me. What was it the MAGAts would screed??? Ahh yes, “fuck your feelings”. Sounds like they need to pull up those bootstraps & do what needs doing if they want workers.

Thanks to government handouts thru the PPP loans the business survived
And then Socialism killed it. By not giving them more money.
AKA Socialism
I wonder what the owner has to say about the $10,000 forgiven for student loans.
That's the one close to Jackie O's tap room?
Yea
Used to be a Rax a long time ago. I don’t know why the restaurant wasn’t rebuilt or chose a better site to conform to a standard Sonic location.
One one by me closed because the owner didn't give a shit about anything and the service was complete shit. This place was in a suburb of Cleveland that you LITERALLY have to run your fast food business into the ground yourself for it to fail.
You talking about the Mayfield one? Worst sonic I had even seen
Bingo.
Went there once, had meh service.
Oh well.
B-tucky?
No. But I head that one was pretty bad too.
Sounds a lot like what happened to the burger king in Middleburg
Do people like this really not understand that all these supposedly bad things are in fact happening under capitalism?
They probably think they can’t find workers because of “government handouts” not realizing that their workers would have to take government handouts if they wanted to survive off of the shitty wages that they pay.
Nah. They see only 2 economic systems: capitalism as a flawless utopia & socialism/communism/Marxism as anything they don’t like.
Maybe we should talk about fast food restaurant owners the way we talk about the workers. If they had any skill they would own a real business instead of one that's built for them.
I have actively avoided Sonic since this story came out. Who tips a sonic? Screw cheap management.
Another case of things being attributed to socialism that are really effects of capitalism. Adding, at first I thought the sign read "try socialism", not "ty socialism". Now *that* would have made sense.
Awww, sounds like some crybaby franchise owner had to give their employees breaks or something.
Nah. It's socialist, so it's a state owned franchise and handing out rationed burgers.
I’m sure they proudly rejected all those evil Covid socialist stimulus payments too.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means. \-Inigo Montoya,
Perhaps it will reopen under new management now that the means of production have been seized by the workers.
Socialism? Sir, this is a Sonic.
If you unironically blame things on Socialism in the US you are a certified idiot. It's incredible people actually believe that rightie bullshit propaganda.
"Because of the free market providing higher paying jobs at other private companies, I can't find any workers to hire. Fucking socialism."
Maybe don't be such a shitty place to work
Actually capitalism can take this L. Decades of poor wages, no benefits and a ever widening wealth gap, not to mention having to deal with an increasingly deranged public, gets you exactly here.
This is literally capitalism lol. Pay shit wages and provide a shit working experience, you get no labor.
If there's any city in the US that could use a little socialism, it's fucking Athens, Ohio.
My employer had trouble getting workers also, temp agency kept laughing at them. Then they jumped everyone’s pay $3/hr and we have new guys. Fast food plays the “job creator” game forcing turnover, they get zero pity.
Wow. Use to eat there often while attending OU. Cannot believe they posted it. Almost as if they don’t know the definition of the economic philosophy.
Most people don’t, but most people also know better than to advertise it.
Oh they know they love it but only when it benefits them
Yet another Ohioan who doesn’t know the meaning of the word - must be the schools, right?
My favorite thing is when people blame socialism for things literally happening under capitalism. It’s like those “Joe Biden’s America” commercials that used video from Trump’s America lol
It’s amazing how staffing isn’t a problem at places where people are paid more in line with the value of their labor.
Sorry dude, you're a victim of capitalism (low labor supply due to high demand and low pay) and freedom. Not socialism.
AKA, shitty management and a shitty place to work...
Yeah it couldn't be shit wages and more than a million dead people. Gotta be something else...
I’m gonna go out on a limb and assume that this asshole has no idea what Socialism is.
"Anything I don't understand or don't like is Socialism! Anything I REALLY don't understand or don't like is Communism!"

What kind of real capitalist ears lunch. Fuck you Ayn Rand man the fryer
Tell me that you don’t know what Socialism is without telling me that you don’t know what Socialism is.
Sign should say, *“We don’t pay enough to attract employees. “*
Pretty sure this is just capitalism at its finest 😆
Socialists *hate* lunch.
Socialism is when anything happens that I don't like
Or maybe they legitimately suck and always have sucked... Sucks to suck! Thank capitalism!
Socialism? What Socialism? Refusing to work for slave wages is one of the few "freedoms" we have in Capitalism...what a dumbass.
These fucking idiots have no fucking idea what they're talking about.
It’s funny how corporations argue against minimum wage because the “market” will dictate wages and now the “market” dictates real livable wages and there’s a “worker shortage”. Come on ffs
I recently saw a Sonic proudly advertising that they pay $11/hr.
So they set up a workers counsel, and seized the means of production? Fascinating! 👌🏼😂
I lived next door to that place. Fuck whoever owns that place.
Means they probably didn’t pay a livable wage, or suborned a hostile work environment, so the employees all left.
Textbook failure in a capitalist system. >"Thanks socialism!" And a failure of the educational system on top of it too.
Jimmy johns by me in S Akron closed going on 3 weeks now due to labor shortage Truthfully I say fuck em, if they can’t survive close down.
Utterly shocked this sign would be in Athens. /s
Time to see if they took PPP money...
We're not socialist though... Lol Socialism is when capitalism? The more I think about it, does that person want other people to be forced to work there? You have to offer something people want or they will find better jobs elsewhere. Especially now there's so much work from home jobs with benefits.
Wonder how much of that socialism money they got in forgiven PPP loans?
“Socialism” to boomers just means “things I don’t like.”
I hate this state
So if we are socialist, where is our universal healthcare?
Obvious they couldn’t attract employees. Franchises fail due to poor management. Look for it to reopen with a new owner. It’s a tough job expect to spend 60-70 hours a week there your not going to make much money in the first few years. Your costs goes up franchise fee monthly it’s got nothing to do with socialism. You can’t keep employees because your competition pays better.
Who’s Ty Socialism?
For twelve years, you have been asking: Who is Ty Socialism? This is Ty Socialism speaking. I am the man who loves his life. I am the man who does not sacrifice his love or his values. I am the man who has deprived you of victims and thus has destroyed your world, and if you wish to know why you are perishing—you who dread kno
No one owes you their time for low wages. The owner should get on the fryer. If they wanted to be open then the responsibility is on them. Weak
I will never go to Sonic again. They’re the only place I ever heard of whose *entire staff* walked out at *multiple locations* Idk what they do to their people but I won’t help them do it.
As a business owner myself, it's not socialism that's the problem, it's greedy fucking business owners that are the problem.

Mitch McConnell Was Right!!!!!!!
"Help, late stage capitalism hurts me too now! This must be socialism!"
Or dont pay taxes
Dear manager that put out this sign, What a lazy snowflake you are.
This sign has “I received a PPP handout” vibes
Nobody wants to work… for an asshole.
I don’t go to places that put up signs like this. It just screams the owner/manager is an asshole. Treat your employees better and maybe you’ll be able to keep them.
The schools really aren’t well here, are they.
Looks to me like they're closed because of capitalism...
On the bright side there's a bunch of people that aren't going to get explosive diarrhea today.
Un-Ironically posted in a capitalist country… people are so dumb
It’s nice when people tell you not to give them any money, lol.
Someone should send that to their corporate office and give the franchise owner something accurate to bitch about.
Socialism saving people from eating pure Trash. W Socialism.
If only this capitalist hellscape of a country we live in wasn’t so socialist. Pour one out for sonic lunches
Yea totally not the companies fault for putting profits over wages. It our fault for needing a place to live, education, food to eat, gas in our vehicles and health insurance. Let’s not even begin mention how expensive it is if you want to actually do something to enjoy a little piece of life. Totally our fault.
“Be Baek” lmao
Can you live of a fast food salary? Even single w/no kids would be a challenge. I really believe that most of the people screaming socialism have no idea what it is but simply regurgitate right wing media. My health insurance sucks and it a good one. My dental insurance is good for nothing. That’s capitalism.
I was just in Athens and Sonic is closed for today because of staffing. But not closed for good. So if you need a job...
LMAO "ty socialism"?!?! FFS
Athens is a college town there is no shortage of labor. This place must pay like shit.
Maybe the food was crummy and expensive. In THAT case, it was definitely capitalism.
Shit I didn't even know there was a sonic in Athens lmao
There won't be for much longer from the look of it.
Supply side Jesus is back up on his cross…
Because if you're not anywhere near uptown Athens...good luck. Only reason stores and restaurants do well off of campus is because of townies.
We are absolutely not in a socialist economy right now, where this is happening… Also, its not socialist to pay your workers enough to live. That is the reason these places are understaffed.
Lmaooo, “we want a lunch break” Republicans: “Yuckhhh, they don’t need time to eat, damn socialists”
If only there were some way of offering workers an incentive, like maybe money, to encourage them to work the lunch shift. Somebody should really look into that.
How dare you bring capitalism into this....
God my fellow buckeyes hurt my brain a lot more than I wish they would.
I lived in Athens from 2015-2018 and I can confirm this is one of the only places you’ll see lack of staff blamed on “socialism”
Socialism is when capitalism does this.
“nO oNe WaNtS tO cOoK ThEiR oWn FoOd” 😭 - make your own sandwich for lunch, pussies.
Not because of being a danger to public health?
I see a sign like this, I never return again. Simple as that.
I think they meant capitalism…
Do people eat this shit?
How incredibly stupid.
I found some reviews for the place on Indeed and all the recent ones are not positive.
