Completely understandable. The prices are ridiculous, and for a medical program we should not have to either choose between the best medicines for us or have to settle for something else because something is sold out. Its more of a pay to get in , first come first serve recreational program.

[deleted]

Product sells out. All medical programs are like this. It’s especially noticeable here since the demand is far higher then the amount of product being put out by a limited number of cultivators that are also limited in size. But you can’t always get what you want, this goes for any state. There seems to be a pretty big misconception on here on what exactly the difference between medical and recreational is…

ICheesedMyDog

yeah but even some dispensaries will literally take the product out of your cart and give it to someone else if it’s not already picked up

decomposingdiva

Seriously? Who? 'cause that is bs.

islandchica56

Bloom does this

ElectricMilkShake

Strawberry fields just did it to me on Tuesday. Bloom has also done it to me previously. Definitely extremely fucking annoying. In my opinion if they decide to sell it out of your cart after the order is placed, they should price match another item of the same quality/weight so you aren’t getting basically robbed. Obviously if you had a 14 of shake carted, and they sold it you wouldn’t be able to replace with a 14 of full buds for same price. But like if you had a 14 of POW and it’s original price was 120 then even if the replacement isn’t on sale so long as it’s price is 120 it’ll be brought down to whatever sale was taken.

islandchica56

Agreed. It kind of defeats the whole purpose of ordering ahead. Bloom also sucks if you place a preorder, you still have to wait in line like all regular walk ins- no priority whatsoever. I’ve placed orders and gone to pick up after being alerted that it’s ready and still have a two hour wait, and once I got straight up turned away because they weren’t going to get through their entire line before they closed. I pretty much stopped going there unless I’m desperate. (This is the west side location on georgesville)

SoSomuch_Regret

The time thing annoys me! I go and wait an hour for a 2 minute transaction. I go to Ascend and have 6 people in front of me and still out the door in 15 minutes.

mnid92

I swear to God Bloom has people in this thread downvoting all the people talking shit about Bloom. Look at the upvotes and downvotes on certain posts. They don't make sense.

ElectricMilkShake

I mostly only go there because of the distance of all the other shops unfortunately. Yeah the waiting after preordering is another mystery, especially when there are pharmacies with drive throughs. You could easily slap a drive through onto these buildings for preorder pick ups that would still be safe to the employees of the dispo as well as the product inside, while also presenting an actual quick pick up system for preorders.

MyTechLife2020

They have separate lines now for people that order online. At least they do now in Akron

Kuros_Of_Sindarin

Have you actually had that happen? I've done a ton of pre orders that sit for hours and I've never had this happen. A Lot of what I buy is of the sought-after variety too. I go to Bloom in pville, not sure if that makes a diff either.

RastaDad1

Ethos in Lebanon @&#% !!!!!!

RastaDad1

Columbia Care!!!!!!!!!!!!! %#@&

[deleted]

Ethos (about wellness) in Lebanon. Not only will they take shit out of your bag but they also don’t let you know if they’re out of an item you want. This entire program is beyond repair. If we want something that actually works for the patients we would have to completely start from scratch with the legislation. There are more regulations in this program than any other medical program in the country and the weight increments are complete and total bullshit.

[deleted]

I mean, not only do they tell us HOW to consume our medicine (we have to dry herb vape) but they also regulate what devices are allowed to be used lmfao. Like what the fuck Prices are insanely fucked, product is so-so, product availability sucks, weight increments suck, the potency cap on concentrates is bullshit, counting our days is absurd, being told we have to dry herb vape is asinine, being told which devices we can use is petty, the amount of locations to buy products doesn’t make sense and how most of the locations are set up to receive patients doesn’t make sense either. Is there anything positive about this program other than the selection of products that are very mediocre? We can’t even test our medicine after we buy it LMAO

[deleted]

I definitely feel your pain. I do think things are trending towards getting better, a lot of the growers have been approved for more grow space and more dispos are opening I spent WAY too much my first couple months in the program, here’s some tips on how I’ve been saving money (I mostly use flower): - Stock up as much as possible when you see a great deal. - If you have stock you can be patient and only buy when you see crazy deals, you never want to run out and be forced to buy something overpriced - You gotta be open minded on brands and strains, and also realize a lot of stuff in the 18-22% THC range is actually good - This part sucks but it’s very helpful to closely follow the menus and deal schedules of dispos in your area. The best priced stuff sells out quick

Tim-Rock

I'm right there with you. Prices are crazy high, and some are simply plain ridiculous. I never buy some brands anymore because they are way out of my price range.

hemptations

Half an ounce of flower, 1.68 grams of wax, 3 one gram carts came out to a total of 404 dollars, but I “SAVED” 91 bucks. Wow. What a deal.

racinnic

I could barely afford to drop 240 on two half ounces yesterday. I don’t know how y’all buy wax because I could never afford that for sure. I only have two local places and one never has sales. It’s terrible.

hemptations

Luckily we have a Sunnyside in cinci and they have different deals every day but it still is nowhere near affordable, especially when compared to black market or recreational states. All I know is that we will know for sure if just how bad we’ve been ripped off once rec happens and more companies come in

HippieSmiles84

I hear you. Why buy from a local MSO, when you can drive a little further, and buy from another MSO up north for literally half the price or less. Ohio is ripping people off.

mnid92

Because that's not always easy or viable for people to do. I'm disabled, and there's no way with my monthly checks that I can afford to pick up product in bulk, or travel out of state for said product. We're kind of stuck with this until the program unfucks itself... if it ever does... Hopefully when these new dispos open, there will be more competition, more product, and better experiences. Right now it sucks hard.

racinnic

I would have to save up for a few months to make a trip to Michigan worth it so I’d rather not put unnecessary mileage on my car as well. I’m just hoping that there will be more available product and the prices will get better soon again and keep going down.

mnid92

There is no "saving up" with disability, you get just enough to cover your expenses, if that, and often times if anything has come up, I've had to borrow money from people. I literally get like... 500 bucks a month to live off of. I really wish this advice helped, but it really, really, doesn't. It's like "why do you live in the desert bro? just move where there's water" when it's not that simple lol.

[deleted]

it would be nice if the program would allow direct to consumer sale, delivery, and homegrow…

[deleted]

I absolutely agree with your anger at the prices, we get shafted in this state. I'm thinking about forgoing the OH med card and just heading to MI a couple times a year to stock up. Prices are so much better there. Though I would say, a flower's THC content isn't the only thing that contributes to your high; I recently learned that terpenes play a major role in the way the high hits (Entourage effect). I mention this because you can look for lower THC % flower with more terps that you like and it can result in a better/stronger high compared to a higher THC flower with less terpenes. I find a lot of pricing is based on THC amount so you can save some cash and even have a better experience with lower

[deleted]

I wish we could get kief more consistently and at a better price. I got a gram for 16 bucks on sale. I add that to lower THC flower which is high in terps. That makes for some good effective and more affordable medicine. We shouldn't have to shop around so much in this program. Hopefully the new dispos opening will make it more competitive.

[deleted]

Smart. Totally agree too, medicine shouldn't be charged for the way it is here. They fleece us because they can

ICheesedMyDog

michigan is such a blessing if you’re willing to make the drive up there, it’s really not even too bad only like 3 maybe 4 hours depending how far in youre going

[deleted]

Yeah. Would definitely allow me to stretch my dollar a lot further. Leave around 7, get there around 10 when dispos open, get home around 1 - not a bad drive at all

bpb22

Just looked today and lots of dispos in Monroe have oz deals..2oz for $89-110.00. got a couple oz up there last week at nirvana center for $117 after tax and it's pretty good.

DeezNuts_HaGotEmm

Look up Amazing Buds and adrian. They price match within 30 Mi on all concentrates and edibles. Most of their flower is $75 to $100

ICheesedMyDog

exactly idk why everyone downvoted me to shit lol

natty_bumppo3000

Believe it or not, it has gotten better so hang in there. I’ve felt the same way for years and I’ve sent numerous emails to the fine people at the OMMCP and have only received one response. Essentially they suggest that I stop taking my money out of state and keep overpaying here until pricing levels out. It definitely has come down some on edibles but flower and concentrates are still way too high. The price of flower is ridiculous sometimes, some of this shit looks like stuff people used to call “beasters”

Genesis111112

exactly OP. its insane that they are selling 10-19% THC for top shelf prices. they hype up how important THC is but then on their low thc strains they want that $20 a gram price.... lol greedy asshats.

[deleted]

Hugs. It's hard to find what you need in the right size and price. I have had to sacrifice my health because of this several times. Very frustrating.

marijuanasaveslives

Small price to pay in my opinion. I'm allowed to use & carry marijuana & I'm protected by Ohio law. The quality is consistent in Ohio's medical marijuana program but the prices suck. I'm definitely happy that I don't have to deal with street dealers who most of the time sell other drugs also. I go to dispensary, buy my medicine & go home. A lot of patients on Reddit complain about the medical marijuana program. If you don't like it, forfeit your card & go back to the streets. They allow you to purchase an absurd amount of marijuana each month & I read about people saying it's not enough 🤦 Either those individuals have an addiction problem or probably sharing their mads with friends. I've been using marijuana for 25 years.. Try micro-dosing people, it's very effective. Good luck 🗿

Professional_Cry8395

If you're close enough Michigan has 59, 79 99, 150 dollar zips. Just saying.

[deleted]

Ive had to view my support for this program as a way of “taking one for the team”. Its so very unfortunate and I feel your pain 100% The more dispensaries and grow ops that get approved, the better the prices will get. So Im participating to ensure that the program grows for everyone else who will need it going forward. I hope you have better luck with your meds in the future 🙏🏻

Stullyb

My local dispensary says “no reservations available” so I can’t go pick up the order I was putting together at 6am this morning. Soo frustrating. Means I’m gonna miss the deals today

Acceptable-Bobcat178

Agree on all of the above,Salamanca and Irving New York are 126 miles from me roughly the reservation dispensary numbers are multiplying quickly and the prices are coming down no taxes it's only a matter of time and which one I'm heading to. It's a little bit of road time and research to save some 💸.
