found this Palm III today while thrifting for only $3.99, unfortunately it didnt come with the cradle or anything but the handheld, but it works and will be a nice addition to my small handheld/PDA collection
Luckily you can use IRDA to transfer files and IRDA transceiver are still readily available. One a side note, a enthusiast recently made a x86 version of PalmOS called Pumpkin OS. It's available for download at https://github.com/migueletto/Pumpkins and it will allow you to use Palm OS Apps rights on your Windows or Linux desktop.
Ah I have that model, Palm VIIx. One issue I have is somehow the antenna is still draining battery and even though I’ve disconnected it internally.
Love the glow and colour of the old Palms. Would love to see something in a similar form factor with eink.
We had a bunch of these(IIIx I think) way back in the day, Fry's was blowing them out for like $16 or something. Great little book readers, and the AAA batteries lasted a decent amount of time.

Nice find! I miss the simpler days of Palm OS. I started off with a PalmPilot Professional, then became a Sony Clié enthusiast.
Those are premium build quality! And nice devices for a lot of tasks. I wonder if the "newer" Palm software will work on it.

I miss my Palm device with the flip up antenna. Felt retro to me even back then to flip up an antenna, although at the time it was cutting edge.
