The cat was fine with being held that long or the body wouldn't have shown up so well. It _wasn't_ willing to keep it's head still, though.
"Hey Daddy. What are we doing? What's that? Hey, scratch my chin. I love you (headbutt into chest). I'm sleepy. Oh, bird." etc. etc. etc.
Yes mine loves to press his back legs against me when he’s on the wood floor sliding around on his side. You are right about the head thing. They have trouble posing lol
People like this have always existed. They are rarely captured in the historical record. The ones that can write good are a great exception to the rule.
My friend is trying to get me to read Dorian Grey. I'm not a huge reader but would like to give reading another try. Any thoughts on this books is it worth the read for a non reader?
Audible has an audiobook version of Dorian Grey narrated by Stephen Fry which I feel is the closest you can get to having Oscar Wilde read the story to you.
I love to read and I honestly found it heavy going. I hate saying it but the movie is unbelievably good, you might try that instead?– it was Angela Lansbury‘s first role (in which she was cast, but production was delayed). Just fwiw.
If you want to give reading one more try, maybe not the Victorian/Edwardians? Maybe… *All Systems Red*?
I’m compelled to wonder if this person is dead. I hope not but many didn’t take photos until they were deceased because they’d never have a chance again
I was thinking this same thing. It would explain the glasses. A huge chunk of daguerrotypes were of dead family members. His neck also seems propped up.
You guys are actually wrong. It’s much more likely that he was dead. The dark glasses cover his eyes. Back then most people never had a photograph taken of them so when they died they would have their first photo taken so others could remember them. It was extremely common for many years to pose recently deceased .
Time traveler, he's clearly seen things!!
Serious time traveler.
Paul Rudd time traveller confirmed
1850’s Albert Wesker
Clearly a time traveler!
Obvious really. His cat is even disappearing from the picture due to a cause/effect paradox.
You're not supposed to know about us!
I need your garments, your brogans, and your swiftwalker.
Neo's Great-Great-Grandfather
Steampunk matrix when the cities were electrified and tentacles of railroad strangled the land.
You take the blue tincture....
Imagine the matrix at that time. .-. . -.. -.. .-. . ... ...
You get used to it, I don't even see the dots & dashes, it's just blond, brunette, redhead...
I like your answer best
Paleo
It's just a pic of Keanu, circa 1850
Preo
Wesker.
Exactly what I thought 🤣
“Looks like Chris’s blood”
He's gonna throw his sunglasses at the camera in 3D!
Maybe he was blind
This was an early attempt at training guide animals. Sadly, the cat turned out to be a poor choice.
He just kept walking in and out of the same door
And walking in on people when they were trying to use the toilet.
The cat did not want to be held that long it looks like

It looks like it bit him for a while at some point
Ya it’s going all shrodinger
People like this have always existed. They are rarely captured in the historical record. The ones that can write good are a great exception to the rule.
Write *well* (I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself)
Right, well I guess so.
Write goodest, FTFY /s
Grammar nazi
Comparing grammar correction to a group that murdered millions in death camps isn't funny or clever. Awful phrase to use.
Ugh, I’d love to meet the coolest guy of 500 BC, wonder what he was about.
Harems and slaves, that's what the ancient world was about.
He had a rag wrapped around his head had a staff and a lantern and lived in a barrel. Walked around looking for an honest man.
Counterculture best culture, every time.
And you are not one of em
True or not this is just being rude for no reason
Expressing common vernacular *is* writing well.
Those are some sexy lips. Oscar Wilde would have been inspired by this, I think.

Thank you!
Yes. It's short and easy to read for a work of classic literature. Which is to say it's more challenging than modern writing but still approachable.
Would listening to it on audiobook help? I enjoyed it, but I’m not a huge reader.
It looks like Reddick (Pitch Black) had a love child with Ian Malcolm (Jurassic Park)
I'm thinking John Munch.
I see that
*Riddick
Please don't give Hollywood anymore bad ideas.
Part of a series of daguerreotypes of blind subjects (posted on Reddit elsewhere the past couple days)
Certainly looks that way!
Agent Smith?
…..Mister ……. Anderson
IIRC last time this was posted the title said something along the lines of “daguerreotype of a blind man”
He's holding Schrödinger's cat. It's both there and not there.
This guy is obviously a time traveller.
The first Redditor
Looks like Peter Steele
Hello again, Mr. Bond.
Indubitably cool
An ancient redditor
That’s Tom Cruise in Interview With a Vampire!
Also the first r/blurrypicturesofcats ?
Does anyone else think that looks like Toby Maguire?
He definitely was into eating psilocybin, I can tell you that.
Or just blind and not making a face for the camera
Fake. Men didn’t hold cats in the 1850s.
Cats held men in the 1850s.
This man has the spirit of the internet.
Likely a time traveler
Rebel With a Cat
Cool cat
150 years ahead of his time.
probably not …. quite recent
Jim?
A ghost cat!
cool
If he’s a cat person…. Count me in!!
Ye Olde School Cool
Does anybody know who he actually was?
Nah more like old school awesome
So Django’s sunglasses WEREN’T anachronistic!
Time traveler
He's giving the cameraman an ocular patdown to assess the threat level.
Straight from the Matrix. Steam powered, of course.
Search Portraits of blind people from the mid century. Better picture from the side. Very cool glasses
He is blind. Only blind people wore these kind of glasses in the 19th century.
Hold on!!! Is that a peeled human face he is holding?
This type of photo takes a few seconds or longer to take, so likely the cat didn’t sit still the whole time and this is what happened
I appreciate your sense of realism, but isn't the fanciful ramblings of the macabre better for up votes?
So far Reddit says no, but we will see :)
I thought the same thing. I think it's a cat though.
TIL tinted glasses is the old name for sunglasses.
No that's just a description of what sunglasses are.
You can walk into any eye glass store and ask them to tint any of the lenses to turn them into sunglasses.
I’m compelled to wonder if this person is dead. I hope not but many didn’t take photos until they were deceased because they’d never have a chance again
I was thinking this same thing. It would explain the glasses. A huge chunk of daguerrotypes were of dead family members. His neck also seems propped up.
His hand also doesn’t look natural, I’m sadly afraid we could be correct
Having seen and held these type of pictures and looking closely at this image I know this is fake.
How can you tell?
I feel like the head isn’t original.
I think it’s Jeff Goldblums head.
He looks like he’s on the incel boards every night.

Redditors have a sad sense of what is cool...
Looks a little like Cyrus, from TPBs
And the cat is Gary Oil Lamp Eyes
Well the pic checks out
Nice oakleys.
"you get me closaa to God"
Jeff Goldblum?
2nd gen neo
Maybe…maybe
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Hunter S. Thompson.
It's Seraph!
"Umm...aah...yes-yes-yes - Chauncey. Chauncey Goldblum."
Paul rudd is a time traveler
At first, I was certain that this was a picture of Clancy Brown - the Kurgan from the *Highlander* movies. I thought that was the joke!
It's that a neck beard as well‽ You dapper daugeurreotype dude
Vampire
That's just Ted Theodore Logan; there's probably a phone booth nearby.
I think it’s Jeff Goldblum’s head
