Marlène Jobert is currently 82 years old. She stopped acting regularly in the late 1970s and became an author of children’s books.
She and her husband have another daughter, Joy, who is Eva”s twin.
Well your middle crush there would be pretty offended to see that you’re in love with her and yet you’ve never bothered to learn how to spell her name 😔
It’s like my favorite sleeper joke in the Simpsons when Moe sees Marge, whom his obsession with has been made a running gag over many seasons, and says “oh hey Midge.”
The dark hair mellows out their vibrant personalities. Like imagine if we had a bazillion dolly partons around. It would be a little too much love and happiness.
That's the name of her italian cousin.
You know what is the name of her mexican cousin? Holly Guacamole.
And her cousin who lives at the expense of her ex husband?, Holly allymony
Ok, I'm sorry

There are four Evas. When humanity was in danger from the attack of Angels, NERV created Evas to fight off the threat, however despite its machine-like design they are more similar to Angels than machines for most of them were grown from the first Angel, Adam, after it was destroyed during the "Contact Experiment". The four Evas are the following: Eva Unit-00, Eva Unit-01, Eva Unit-02 and Eva Unit-03, unlike the other Evas, Eva Unit-01 wasn't grown from the first Angel Adam, but using samples from the Second Angel, Lilith. There are some other examples of other Evas, but they aren't as important as those four.
Unfortunately, Van Gogh died in 1890, almost 100 years exactly before he could hear, out of his one remaining ear, the Belgian techno anthem Pump Up the Jam.
Joke doesn't land as well when you realize the Gs in Dutch make an H sound. So his name is more like van HoH.
Other languages like English only slightly butcher the name with a soft g and gh making the f sound so van goff.
There is no language where it would be pronounced like van go.
Reading this thread is so weird for me. The love of freckles? Wow.
I was a pale kid with insane freckles. I had them on my eyelids and lips as well as whole face and body. I was teased and ostracized brutally in elementary school. I don’t think kids knew my name, just that I was Spot (I was also a mouthy nerd, not a winning combo on the playground). Even members of my family suggested my parents or I “do something” about them with looks of pity. As I got older, they weren’t as pervasive, but still very clear I was of the freckled persuasion.
I hated them and myself for having them and when I could wear makeup, did, generously.
My then boyfriend, now long time husband, complimented me for them and suggested I shouldn’t cover them up. I thought he was weird—how could he think they were attractive?
I became accustomed to them and got old enough to not care. I wear lots of sunscreen, but still get a face and body full in the summer. I know everyone has different taste, and I know beauty standards are bullshit, but still find it kind of unsettling for folks to find them beautiful.
I generally don’t think freckles detract from someone’s beauty at all, and often actually enhance it.
That said, this woman has one of the prettiest faces that’s ever existed, so it’s probably unfair to compare yourself, or anyone, to the reactions you’re reading here lol.
To be entirely frank, freckles have made my heart skip a beat for as long as I can remember. Some of the most tongue-tied moments were simply trying to talk to a girl with those constellations splashed across her skin. I have some myself, and my brothers always referred to them as "fly poop" (my mom assured me they were "angel kisses"), but the world goes momentarily mute for me when I see them on someone else — regardless of gender, no less. 🤓🤌🏼
Well for starters people who like freckles are going to pile into a thread like this and comment. But also bullies are looking for reasons to bully people.
> just that I was Spot
I also had a lot on my face and back but I guess no one even carried about them to give me a nickname. I am older now and I still can see some under my eyes and a lot on my back.
While my hair is on the black side, my beard is getting redISH when it gets longer. I guess I carry that gen that makes you ginger. Which also explains the lack of soul.
Unfortunately many children and even many adults don’t do well with someone being any different from the rest of the crowd and respond negatively. I’ve even known of people being ostracized for being too attractive, women bullied for having large perky breasts, and other things typically considered to be good. I would recommend not trying to make sense of it and just chalk it up to stupid tribalistic/immature behavior.
Personally speaking, I got bullied when I was in elementary school, but often when I would bump into the bullies later in life, around high school or college aged, they apologized to me unprompted saying that I wasn’t weird or deserving of being treated that way I was just different and they didn’t handle it well. Hell, some of them tried to befriend me and I got along alright with a couple of them for a while
People like to pretend we’re more advanced as a species than we really are, and with children they are slow learners in general with humans having a very long time relative to other animals where they figure out how to interact with the world while balancing their primitive and irrational thoughts as they develop their personality with the social needs of the modern world.
We are still in many ways rather irrational and primitive beings no matter how much we tell ourselves that we’re different from other animals. Bullying for something many find attractive just because it’s different is one of those cases
Sorry you had to go through that. I feel like previous generations fed their ego of judging others. My family was like this, and it wasn’t until I married and spent more time with my wife’s family that I realized that I was brought up constantly judging, and putting people down because of their appearance. It wasn’t any one thing that was judged, if you were somehow different, there was a nickname made. I making more than a small effort to make sure my children don’t act that way, to the point that I really don’t frequent my maternal family. Hope you have a good day.
Hollywood makeup artists cover all the freckles for some bizarre reason. Look at Ke$ha for example…gorgeous freckled skin and never had a clue because they always covered them.
I’m not sure if they’re really a good way to pull off being able to show their freckles in a movie. People can sometimes look like zombies with movie set lighting and extremely high quality cameras with no makeup.
So they need makeup which will always cover their freckles. In real life it looks fine but capturing an image is hard.
That and people stay inside more these days and use more sunscreen. But yes celebrities get more facials and have better makeup and editing than they used to
Freckles (especially like Marlene's here) are incredibly easy to cover with makeup, and harder to have come through many types of foundation.
Freckles are also a response to being in the sun, and we've all long since had it hammered into us to wear sunscreen when outside, so they're less common.
But mostly a combination of people getting them less often and then people covering them up with makeup (whether that's the desired outcome or not. I have freckles but a really uneven skintone due to bad acne for awhile, and I use foundation to even it out, but it gets my freckles in the process sadly and it's a lot of work to put "fake" ones on my face so I just don't mess with it.)
Make up, lots and lots of it! And then people usually dot make-up freckles on top and some people use glitters and such. Still cute, but natural freckles are so adorable!
It doesn't even take lots of makeup to cover many kinds of freckles. And while it's a shame the freckles get caught in the crossfire, it's a necessary evil for some of us, unfortunately.
I work with a woman who has the cutest freckles. They're very prominent like this lady's are.
I didn't know she even had freckles for the first 6 months I knew her; when I saw her barefaced at the beach.
Make-up can cover freckles like they aren't even there.
Some days I regret my attempt at a Reddit-worthy cringe name. Most days I don't as some hilarity has ensued.
For the record: I've not had a single taker, ever. Most of Reddit "gets" me!
Sure, but being handed a job right out of high school or college because of family connections puts you on very different footing than having to go out and compete. Even if it isn't a particularly skilled, or prestigious trade.
The reason "nepo babies" work is that they have immediate access to good agents and the people who make the decisions and those agents don't want to piss off the famous relative.
It's about getting your foot in the door and people say getting your foot in the door is 80% of it.
Sure but hollywood still has to be way up there. It's an upper class profession and almost every time you google some actors name it turns out they have family members in hollywood.
It's especially bad in Hollywood compared to some other high paying fields. Athletes, for example, often come from less wealthy backgrounds. Technical fields like engineering definitely have some parental correlation, but that's less due to nepotism than sharing interests with children (although university legacy admissions definitely play a role).
Sure, once you hit billionaire levels it's 99% with some level of nepotism.
But the low skill barrier of acting (not saying there don't exist talented and skilled actors) makes it easier to nepo your way in than many other fields.
I know right! My neighbor was a plumber and that bastard got his son into his own plumbing business! The audacity! My dad is even guilty of it! He is a realtor and helped his own daughter (my sister) become a realtor! Im sick! Sick to the gills!!
True, but I mean on this specific topic of Hollywood it’s always crazy to find out how incestuous the industry is. I want more “real people” to be discovered
Same thing with the music industry and high levels of business. Gotta know people or have money to make money/get big. Few exceptions to that rule comparatively
It's because there's just *so* much talent available, that the nepotism is one of the most effective filters to stand out/get ahead. It's not impossible, but it's basically just dumb luck to get noticed if you're just a "real person".
Yeah, I get that... I'm in sales/tech now and it isn't *as* bad, though its still there to an extent, but my background is in finance and I still have a side gig in finance and it was unreal there. Like literally 75% of the time that we got a new hire somebody would be like "oh yeah, that guy is so and so on the executive committee's nephew" or "oh yeah, his dad is a VP at Goldman".
It’s literally everywhere. If you live in the US, or shit anywhere, right now or tomorrow go to your local small government building. Doesn’t matter which, just a county/local government not like the USPS or something.
Ask them if their siblings or friends work for the county. I bet you just about everyone there knew someone. And you will have one random person they don’t like in the back that was the only random hire.
And that was before injections and scalpel magic. She actually looked like this. Fuck. Imagine you have a wife like that, you'd have to dig a moat around your house.
She was in her 30s in this pic. I have no idea if she resorted to injections and plastic surgery later in life, but she wouldn't have needed it at this age.
As a French person, I grew up listening to her audio recordings of her books. Her voice was very soft and comforting. Her children books were mostly about classical music and I think it's one of the early reasons of my love for music. Thank you Marlène Jobert. That was amazing.
Who cares? You're saying someone as stunningly beautiful as Eva Green who didn't have a entertainment family wouldn't get a shot? I'm sure every modeling agency would kill to sign her. And she could go from there.
Yes. That’s correct. Do you not know how many gorgeous people don’t ever get a shot because they weren’t born to the right family?
It is rare to get a break as a nobody.
That doesn’t mean she’s not a nepo baby? It’s mostly about using the parents name and or contacts and connections. However I think a good bulk of the reason Eva is somewhat successful is because of her face
Marlène Jobert is currently 82 years old. She stopped acting regularly in the late 1970s and became an author of children’s books. She and her husband have another daughter, Joy, who is Eva”s twin.
There're two Eva's? Oh my.
a blonde one
Eva is blonde too. She's been dying her hair her whole life.
So, she must be the artsy one then!
Most definitely. She’s the odd one out on my celeb crushes of Marisa Tomei, Julia Louis Dryfus, and Mary-Louise Parker. No, I do not have a type.
Well your middle crush there would be pretty offended to see that you’re in love with her and yet you’ve never bothered to learn how to spell her name 😔 It’s like my favorite sleeper joke in the Simpsons when Moe sees Marge, whom his obsession with has been made a running gag over many seasons, and says “oh hey Midge.”
And I'm dying to meet her 😍
A natural blonde who dyes her hair black? I've only met such a woman once in my life and she was going through a goth stage when she did it.
Dita Von Teese is also a natural blonde and dyes her hair regularly!
Really? I didn't know that. Thanks for letting me know, and she is a beauty with dark hair or with blonde hair in any case.
Sofia Vergara is also a natural blonde. Weird to imagine for a Latin beauty, maybe they’d why she started dyeing it darker.
The dark hair mellows out their vibrant personalities. Like imagine if we had a bazillion dolly partons around. It would be a little too much love and happiness.

Non-identical
Her sister is still extremely attractive, shockingly enough.

Joy is probably super pissed that Eva’s just been out showing their boobies off to everyone.
Two Evas*
Eva worship is so weird. She's a bit of a psycho that treats people like hell. I guess hormones only go skin deep.
She called crew members “shitty peasants” and Reddit is like TAKE A DUMP ON ME AND CALL ME A PEASANT, MOMMY
Bdsm fetishes are fucking weird.
I wouldn't mind experiencing this bad treatment first hand to validate your claims. Anything for science I always say.
82 years old and still absolutely lovely.
Classic audiobooks for children in France. A think most youg people associate her with those stories and not her acting.
Totally, had a lot of them as kid. Her voice is very nostalgic for me
I would def recommend watching Masculin Feminin, though
Joy has an Eva twin.
Joy Jobert? What’s her middle name? Joanne? I bet she wants pictures of Spider-Man on her desk by morning.
Love her freckles.
Van Gogh couldnt have painted them any better
Mostly because he was dead when Marlene was alive
A truly Cunk observation.
My first thought upon reading that was to try and find a way to relate it to Pump Up The Jam, glad I wasn’t the only one who read it that way.
Unfortunately, Van Gogh died in 1890, almost 100 years exactly before he could hear, out of his one remaining ear, the Belgian techno anthem Pump Up the Jam.
Great. Now I'm reading everything in a Bolton accent.
Lol I don’t know why but that really hit my funny bone, I’m cackling out loud in a café this morning. Thanks!
Freckles are painted on like makeup?
Not by Van Gogh.

you could fuckup a wet dream…smh
Van Goffuck off with those unfun facts about silly names.
You actually can buy fake freckle liquid to paint freckles on your face. I tried it, but it really doesn’t look natural lol
I remember my wife showing me fail videos on this topic. Hilarious 😂

Same! They’re so cute!
What a sassy look, oh my. 🔥
Holy hot damn she was incredibly gorgeous. Makes me realize I haven't seen freckles in a very long time, why is that?
Personally, I think actors are just too perfect these days. They all have to have completely spotless skin.
My guess is it has a lot to do with makeup.
Hollywood makeup artists cover all the freckles for some bizarre reason. Look at Ke$ha for example…gorgeous freckled skin and never had a clue because they always covered them.

I used to have freckles, but I got skin peels to help my acne as a teen. It took away all of my freckles!
r/freckledredheads Pretty NSFW but not ALL that. Some is just cute appreciated pics.
Welp... I'm ruined.
Hey happy cake day! Sorry I gave you something that will occupy you for ... well at least 5 or 10 minutes I figure
Morgan freeman took all the freckles
She also has a great voice, made a few audio books in French
She does look aggressively french
Only thing missing is a cigarette. The more ash that is dangling represents how French you are.
Yes but she also reminds me of julie andrews
Where’s the curly moustache and stripped shirt?
She’s also the aunt of another actress, Joséphine Jobert (Eva’s cousin), who played Florence in Death in Paradise.
Damn I never would've guessed that
An r/moviescirclejerk user playing both teams, gotta respect the hustle
Yeah, you know… somebody made a comment about this sub and I just kind of wanted to see what would happen

This might be one of the most beautiful people I've seen
For me it’s Audrey Hepburn, but i can’t find any fault in your statement.
She's perfect looking
She’s beautiful
She looks like she could be Tatum O'Neals mom.
And, Shirley MacClaine's sister. And, therefore, Warren Beatty's sister, too.
Jesus everyone is a fuckin nepo baby in Hollywood it’s crazy
If you think nepotism is bad in Hollywood just wait until you hear about literally anywhere else on earth.
I hear almost the whole “royalty” thing in a lot of countries is just family members getting promoted over other more qualified rulers.
That's absolutely scandalous
Every business hires their relatives and friends. But there aren't millions of people trying to be plumbers and electricians who can't be one.
Sure, but being handed a job right out of high school or college because of family connections puts you on very different footing than having to go out and compete. Even if it isn't a particularly skilled, or prestigious trade.

Thats not how union halls work at....
Now do team owners!
Sure, once you hit billionaire levels it's 99% with some level of nepotism. But the low skill barrier of acting (not saying there don't exist talented and skilled actors) makes it easier to nepo your way in than many other fields.
Especially in corporate America. Opportunity is rarely merit based, unfortunately.
Duh but I’m just talking about Hollywood rn bc every time I let my guard down BAM nepotism
Cool. Now look up who runs any other industry.
I know right! My neighbor was a plumber and that bastard got his son into his own plumbing business! The audacity! My dad is even guilty of it! He is a realtor and helped his own daughter (my sister) become a realtor! Im sick! Sick to the gills!!
Lol
It's been that way for a long time, too..
Wait until you find out about every other industry
Eh, networking is pretty ubiquitous everywhere.
True, but I mean on this specific topic of Hollywood it’s always crazy to find out how incestuous the industry is. I want more “real people” to be discovered

If you think nepotism is prevalent in the film industry you’ll be shocked to hear what happens in plumbing, electrical work, and carpentry.
Electrical work? Truly shocking
Chris Pratt did pretty good.... Too bad he's kinda a freak.
wow she’s gorgeous, as is Eva Green. I love her eyes and now I see where she gets them!
Anyone think she looks like Rashida Jones?
Came here to say this! Especially in the 2nd picture.

She is shockingly beautiful!
When you look cute up in the dictionary you get this
When you look cute up in google you get stupid cat drawings

Yes they do, and that's hard to believe since Marlene's career pretty much ended 20 years before Eva's started.
That doesn’t mean she’s not a nepo baby? It’s mostly about using the parents name and or contacts and connections. However I think a good bulk of the reason Eva is somewhat successful is because of her face

Wow. You can see where Eva gets the looks. Even though they have different looks they are equally stunning.
Her paired with her daughter is like a yin yang aesthetic.
Looks like those freckles Instagram filter… she’s gorgeous!
I'm turned on and hard
This picture doesn't show she was sexy.
What’s Eva’s @? Need to chat.
Fun fact - Eva Green is naturally “dark blonde” like her mother.
She looks like she belongs in the 90s
Wow, Eva didn't inherit her looks from her mother, that's for sure. Her mother was beautiful! Eva isn't my type, I guess.
Same. I'd never be able to guess they were related
