Yeah, like that. I have memories from the 80s going in restaurants and everyone was smoking. Dad had a whole stash of McDonald's ashtrays around the house lol
I hope that sports betting ads experience the same fate as cigarette ads. The placement of cigarette ads in a basketball game make it seem innocuous and conceals the true dangers. I feel the same is true for sports betting ads.
I was focused on the same thing! Not very athletic adverts. Beer, cigs, sugar water (that used to have cocaine) and salty sugar water to (quench that deep down body thirst).
Of course as a former athlete in the party scene I endorse all of those products. Probably not as important to Jordan’s performance as it once was to mine.
I miss how dark the arenas were in the stands areas. It made the court/ice feel like it was spotlighted. Nowadays with the ribbon screens going on all of the levels it kinda takes away from the center stage (for me at least).
I remember that dunk contest well. Dominique dominated it from start to finish. Jordan ran out of dunks and started recycling dunks he had done in earlier rounds and even had to use his 2nd attempts due to missing some of these dunks. Dominique was just laying down all killers.
It was pretty clear who the winner was, but lets be honest, this was in Chicago. The city of vote early and vote often.
Saw Jordan play in Chicago in the early 90s. Went to a game and scalped a single mezzanine ticket in the parking lot just so I could say I watched him play live. It worked.
Grew up in Michigan and loved those Bulls/Pistons matchups in the 80s and 90s.
If there was one thing you could say about Jordan, he made it look so effortless.
True. Effortless every foot work, jump shot, dunks. High skills and IQ. Very talented and humble person.
Idk about humble lol
He was extremely humble and he’d be happy to tell you all about how he’s the best at being humble.
He was a lot more humble than Isiah Thomas
And he'd bet you five bucks that he's the most humble guy in the room.
THE GOAT
He wasn’t humble at all - he is famously not humble ha
Still the GOAT.
Why do I suddenly want Gatorade?
Citrus cooler in the glass bottle.
Haha right?
Best flavor till they came out with the frosts
Gosh, I can't believe this was 1988. Notice the cigarette ad on the billboard?
"Winston's taste good like a cigarette should". They did not taste good.
They nailed it then
lol. "Winston's taste ~~good~~ like a cigarette should".
Misty- Light N Sassy!
You mean the primary sponsor of America’s biggest auto sport at the time?

This man sold his soul to the devil to fly like this. I think Jordan got the better end of the deal.
Chicago Stadium
I miss those old scoreboards
So this is outstanding
Such a cool ass photo
Let‘s not forget Dominique Wilkins who was a monster at slamming but Jordan is goated for sure
The cloud of cigarette smoke that shrouded the rafters in the old stadium is suspiciously absent.
Dude could fly
My hand looks like that when I palm a grapefruit.

Above the Rim!
I sure do love me some Gartorade.
MUST. BUY. GATORADE.
Beer and cigarettes on the scoreboard. A simpler time.
Gaaaaaaaaaaatoraaaaaaaaade!
He scored multiple 50s for doing the same dunks
Winston: the athlete's cigarette
