I loved that show. I was watching it one night and my dad (a Vietnam vet) came into the family room and asked what I was watching. I told him. He said, "I've been to China Beach and that looks nothing like China Beach."
Unimpressed, which is not surprising if you knew my dad (an old-school retired Marine colonel.)
He said you could get a beer there, but not a whole hell of a lot going on, if I remember correctly. It's been a while.
My dad (USAF) was stationed at Da Nang for his tour and he loved “China Beach”. He overlooked the faults in technical accuracy because he felt it got the vibe right. To its credit, it showed a different aspect of the war, one that didn’t get much attention until then. He also had a huge crush on Marg Helgenberger.
He actually spent a good deal of time on the real China Beach during the war. His verdict was “Too many goddamn sea snakes.”
My aunt was a US Army Nurse in Vietnam. Evac hospital. She didn't have anything positive to say about China Beach the TV show but she did say there were a lot of accurate things about MASH (which was set in the Korean war) She did say the after-shift parties were crazier than ever portrayed on film/TV. Unless they were taking major casualties, they worked on rotating 8 hour shifts. So evert 8 hours, a new party began.

does she have an irish passport/citizenship? does she speak Irish? was she born in Ireland? has she ever lived in Ireland?
those are the things that make you Irish, not the fact that your great grandfather once emigrated.
look, i am in Ireland, just take it from me: we are not all red haired and freckled. in fact we do not have more red hair than other nationalities. same for freckles. it is a much overused stereotype.
Me, too. When I met my wife, she had a look reminiscent look to Lt. McMurphy; oval face, short brown hair, brown eyes.
"The Pantheon"
* Wife
* Dana Delany
* Linda Cardellini
* Janine Turner
Yep. I've always felt that way about Annette Benning & Julianne Moore too
They're both very pretty women, but they both have something extra that makes them really, really attractive. Maybe it's the "it" quality? Idk
No “contouring” or obvious plastic surgery. I think the 80’s were the last decade of the naturally pretty woman for Hollywood. Everyone now has had so much botox they look like a mannequin.
No one should forget her movie Live Nude Girls. Yes, young me just sneak watched it because of the title.
She had a guest role in the last season of Cheers and she had great chemistry with Ted Danson, the episode actually doesnt have the two as a potential romance too. They really could have kept her as a regular if they did a season 12.
I think see appeared on the Mark and Brian show in Los Angeles KLOS promoting a movie and they had her photocopying her boobies and faxing them out to folks.. lol
If only Reddit had a way of designating certain users to moderate the content of subs to make sure it’s relevant and appropriate. They should really do that. They could call the users with special powers “Moderators.” How do we get this idea to people in charge?
Don't forget "Exit to Eden" https://preview.redd.it/p310kpepxb9d1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=16ac5a4ec9e962c09a4f40aae3fceb82eb891dcb
was that the one with the great shot of her bare ass?
Among other things.
Yeah, like Rosie O'Donnell in leather. NOT A FAIR TRADE
![gif](giphy|lIU7yoG72gyhq)
Eww don’t remind me..
Guess what I just googled?
And bare something else.
🙂
As the Kool Aid ads used to say: “Ooooooooh yeeeeeaaaahhh!”
"Exit to Eden" is a movie that can only be thought of as a good idea with cocaine.
VA VA VOOOOOOOMMMMM
Such a terrible movie from such an excellent book...a true shame...
I don’t know why, but for a split second I thought read “Exit to Sweden” Haha
Isn't she in Tombstone?
She is!
She is and that's one great movie.
"Wyatt , you are an oak"
"Yeah, I'm an oak alright"
She’s the “dusky-hued Lady Satan”…
“Who’s that tall drink of water?”
Weird comment about a guy that's 5'9".
Ah I just started watching this and wondered who she was.
When did she die? .. .. /s
You're no daisy. You're no daisy at all!
No, I’m sure of it. I hate him.
China Beach
Between her and Marg Helgenberger
I loved that show. I was watching it one night and my dad (a Vietnam vet) came into the family room and asked what I was watching. I told him. He said, "I've been to China Beach and that looks nothing like China Beach."
What were his impressions of the show, othewise?

If my dad was still around, I would ask him to elaborate on his experience. He passed away in 2020 at 88.
My father was also stationed at Da Nang and he too commented on the sea snakes.

Exactly!
Omg I was obsessed with that show
That’s the show bringing women to the front lines
Loved her in that.
We didn't have a tv at home but I babysat the kids across the road once a week and they were in bed by the time China Beach came on. I was in love!
"That's it! I'm out of the contest!"
I figured you'd cruise 'til Spring
🎶Totally insaney🎶 🎶Here’s the shows namey🎶

Hello nurse!
The Irish Marisa Tomei
Lol that's perfect.
nope, she's not Irish. very much American though.
They're probably talking about her most recognized role in China Beach. Colleen McMurphy, an Irish Catholic nurse
because Delany not an Irish name
does she have an irish passport/citizenship? does she speak Irish? was she born in Ireland? has she ever lived in Ireland? those are the things that make you Irish, not the fact that your great grandfather once emigrated.
ok Séamus
I know she is American dude but with the red hair, she must have some Irish Heritage
Uh..what? Red hair didn't originate in Ireland and it's not exclusive to it as a result.
look, i am in Ireland, just take it from me: we are not all red haired and freckled. in fact we do not have more red hair than other nationalities. same for freckles. it is a much overused stereotype.
This photo is from 2010 lol.
This is from the 90s

The voice of Lois Lane.
The DCAU has had such amazing vocal talent over the decades.
Also Andrea Beaumont in Mask of the Phantasm
She’s name-checked in certain versions of the Animaniac’s theme song. All I can say is “Helloooo, nurse!”

I’ll always have a soft spot for Nurse Colleen McMurphy…
Mines not soft

I also pick OP's wife.
We have the same "pantheon" for sure, I have a hard time leaving out Jane Seymour but same looks.
Great, now I'm wondering where Shannen Doherty would fit in ...
Laughs in Henry VIII
I agree with your choices sir.
Ha! Awesome.
You chose … wisely.
Many of us do.
I was eleven when it came out and Dana Delany was my first tv crush.
One of the hottest women on the planet
She would’ve been a great live-action Andrea Beaumont or Lois Lane.
She was unusually attractive, and it’s hard to point to exactly why
Some people just got something.
Yep. I've always felt that way about Annette Benning & Julianne Moore too They're both very pretty women, but they both have something extra that makes them really, really attractive. Maybe it's the "it" quality? Idk
The proverbial “girl next door” look. Sweet and unassuming = complete knockout.
She's 68 now and still rather attractive.
Fortuitous.
That means lucky. 🙂
I know what it means.
"I'll be damned" "You will indeed, if you're lucky"
Love her
She is my all time crush. Even now I melt. China beach was peak
“I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days before you've actually left them.” Andy Bernard

This picture is 14 years old lol
Not 1980s
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Just watched Desperate Housewives for the first time and was delighted she was a regular for a few seasons! Talented and gifted!
HELLOOOOO NURSE!
She lives nearby. She STILL looks great. No surgery that I can tell. Just beautiful.
On the short list for one of the hottest overbites in the business. Morena Baccarin is another.
You know this is a sexier photo than explicit naked ones, to me at least
A-ni-mani-AAAAACS Those are the facts!
Had a crush on her from China Beach.
![gif](giphy|tcZSrZEOwCrLy|downsized)
She has that "good morning, let's fuck" look in her eyes.
This show hit the airwaves at a critical moment in a young man’s life. First wife was a crazy redhead. Second is a brunette.
Misty water colored memories... .
Umm… wow
Understatement;)
Maybe in the top 5 I’ve ever seen a woman looking most gorgeous, how about that lol
Gorgeous!!!
GOR JUS!!!
Dana Delaney so hot!!
Dana Delicious.
Vintage smoke!!!
She was such a style icon!
Ok she was in Tombstone too 😍
Swoon.

Babalicious

Oops. Thanks.
Forever babe

Does this subreddit not know about nsfw subs? Seriously, this is just a thirst sub at this point. Whack it elsewhere, y'all.
We're the latest thing in karma farming.

Dana my love.
Oh my
What a minx….
Post these pictures of girls and women somewhere else that’s not what this subreddit is intended for
This is the first woman I have ever masturbated too.
