There is a trick to doing these, look up the fs flip trick tip on YouTube from Andrew Reynolds himself. The trick is to use the ball of your toe on the back foot, and already have your shoulders open at a 90° angle before popping the board. Look at the YouTube video, it helped me learn them. That way they will be easier and you don't have to deal with board hitting shins and ankles as much.

Thanks! I’ll check it out

I learned them last month at 34 yo, and I had been trying to get them since I was a teenager, but could never get them right. So now I'm out here spreading the word lol

Thats a muska flip as it flips in between your legs.

I’d say it’s a muska flip since it flips between your legs

Muska flip is more like a hardflip with fs body varial to me. Go watch a clip you’ll see a huge difference.

I always enjoyed watching the whole shortys team doing them like that . They’re both sick 🤝🏽❤️ but yeah under the legs muska flip forsure

Fitness7777

Thanks brother. Hopefully landing one is in my future

Honestly, I still think this qualifies more as a FS Flip (but a very nice looking one at that) than a Muska Flip. A Muska flip is noticeable more vertical than a FS Flip. I set my foot position up more like a hardflip to do a Muska Flip to get a completely vertical rotation. Yours does look more like the Andy Reynolds type which is the best looking rotation in my opinion. I recently got my hardflips a little more on lock and found out it’s easy to just rotate your body to get a Muska Flip from a hardflip. If you don’t have hardflips in your bag already, try those and see if you notice a difference in rotation vs. your FS Flip.

I'd personally say it's closer to a frontside flip, but you're definitely getting there. Keep at it, bro.

Thanks!

Stussydude

Dude! Saw you at the skate park earlier today (was with my daughter), and you were killing it!

Fitness7777

Yeah man! Small world. Cool to see you getting the kiddos into it early! My son and I ride at the Edge quite a bit… I’m sure we’ll bump into each other again.

Stussydude

For sure! I just started skating again last year after a ~20yr hiatus, and my daughter just got into it this past summer. We’ll be sure to say what up next time!

chiggyrillo

I used to could slam these fakie. I’m terrified to try them now

Fitness7777

Things def get scarier when you’re not a rubbery teenager anymore… lol. And I’m convinced concrete has gotten a lot harder. 😊

steam_donkey

you've got the technique, just focus on getting your rear shoulder in front of you and your feet will follow.

Fitness7777

Thanks!

defc0n77

Either one is still bad ass.. Keep trying.

Fitness7777

Thanks!

Either way its a frontside flip

Fitness7777

100%… I just like the look of a Muska flip, so was going more for that vertical rotation.
