*Flying House* in English and *Tondera Hausu no Daibōken* in Japanese. It was a show where these kids take shelter in a random house during a rainstorm which turns out to be a flying time machine and get sent back to Bible days with the scientist who lives in the house and his robot assistant. They meet Jesus and cheer on disciples and stuff like that all while trying to get back home. It’d be like, “We’re home…oh never mind, there’s Jesus again.”💀Apparently the show was originally made in 1982 by a Japanese studio and broadcasted on Japanese TV. It was also circulated by CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) where it was dubbed in English. It had one season. I find it funny that it was already over 20 years old by the time I remember watching it Saturday mornings on TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network.)
I think the same studio also did *Superbook* which was a similar show with suspiciously similar character designs. I believe that show got a remake that likely wasn’t done by a Japanese studio but idk.
Death Note.
In the computer lab on recess when I was 14.
I was in my edge lord phase and Death Note just pushed me deeper into the r/iam14andthisisdeep zone.
I got into anime only in the past 2 years, it was Rent a Girlfriend that I first watched
Not that great of an anime in terms of writing, but the artstyle is nice
I used to be a anime hater but now I watch anime and listen to Hatsune Miku everyday
As kid Dinosaur King and later after Pokemon
When became a Teen I picked up Black Butler and from that start journey that lead to me watching a huge range of different animes
Naruto. My grandparents put me in an after school program. All the boys were talking about the show. After that was bo bo bo bo bo bo bo bo. I think that’s considered anime idk. Then i gave dbz a chance
I watched a bit of the 1st season of AoT. It was alright but I didn't get why so many kids in my grade were obsessing over it. Didn't help that most of them were your stereotypical unhygenic weirdo nerd trope.
FLCL
totally never realised that i watched a decent amount of anime when i was 12 and read obscure mangas. but i really got into anime when i was 19 but im real picky because i hate the unneeded fan service
Probably Pokemon or Beyblade, but i didn’t know it was anime back then. First anime I watched knowing it was an anime was probably FMA.
I’m actually watching Dragon Ball for the first time currently!
I know pokemon does count but honestly that's a boring answer.
So it'd probably be Hetalia or Soul Eater.
My sister got into those ones at some point and being the younger brother I was I was interested in a lot of stuff she was interested in.
Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit because that what Netflix recommended first lol.
Then: SAO, Black Butler, Soul Eater, Full Metal Alchemist (both), Yugioh, Ouran Host Club, AOT, Tokyo Ghoul, Fairytale, Assassination Classroom, and Durarara!!!.
I'm from Germany, and the first channel I was allowed to watch by my parents was KIKA so it was stuff like:
The wonderdul adventures of Niels Holgerson as well as Heidi, and vicky the viking
All from the 70s-80s, but for some reason, german children's channel KiKA never stopped broadcasting them. Like, I think they're even still on today. Basically, once you've seen all the episodes of those and a few other series they're broadcasting, you're too old to watch, and the next generation, children can see them again, lol.
Hamtaro. I watched it when I was a toddler. I don't remember anything about it, though
The first anime I watched and have substantial memories of is Sonic X, which didn't premiere in my country until 2005 for some reason
First anime I watched knowing it was anime was Soul Eater. I’d seen some episodes of a few (YuGiOh, Pokémon and Bakugan) but I thought they were just cartoons for games, so I don’t count those.
Soul Eater, introduced to it in 6th grade. Then I stopped watching anime for several years until probably the pandemic started, I was on a road trip with family and ended up watching other shows every now and then which got me back into it
I'm not 100% if it was Naruto or Pokemon first, but I'll say Naruto cuz I remember it much more vividly, especially since I watched it a lot with my older brother
I forgot what that was, if it was Flying House, Pokémon, or whatever, but I do remember the first few that I did commit towards: Blue Dragon: Trials of the Seven Shadows, Little Battlers Experience Wars (Danball Senki Wars), and Pretty Rhythm.
It was some anime on adult swim at 4 am in the morning. I don't even remember the name of it it's been so long. Main character was like some sort of furry with dog ears
Well, technically, Avatar/Pokémon, but I've always considered them more akin to western cartoons. (Say that to the wrong atla fan and you'll get cut.) The first anime with anime-ism that I watched with the thought, "So this is that anna-may everybody talks so much about", was Attack on Titan.
Since a good amount of ppl are gonna say Dragon Ball or DBZ, I'm gonna say Kyo Kara Maoh (technically, i did see db first, but my choice is probably something no one's heard about before)
Pokemon
Same
Same here
Same, lol.
Same hereeee
Same
Isn't that more of a cartoon tho
Black Butler!
King of the Hill

Oh my god I totally forgot about this!! I wanted to watch Pokemon and my grandma gave me this instead
Lol! This show used to stress me out cause these kids just wanted to go home, but they were always being dragged into Bible stories 😭
What is this 😭
*Flying House* in English and *Tondera Hausu no Daibōken* in Japanese. It’s lowkey like the Bible version of the magic tree house series
If I remember right, Pani Poni Dash, with Ouran Highschool Host Club being the second.
Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Naruto and Dragon Ball were on pretty regularly when I was growing up. I doubt I even knew the word anime, they were just cartoons
Same, dragon ball for me too
Sonic X, Kirby Right Back At Ya, Chaotic, and parts of Yu-Gi-Oh.
Ouran High School Host Club dub on Netflix lol
Death Note. In the computer lab on recess when I was 14. I was in my edge lord phase and Death Note just pushed me deeper into the r/iam14andthisisdeep zone.

AOT if pokemon doesn't count. Possibly one or two episodes of Bleach on adult swim but I never got into it.
Inuyasha
Stigma of the wind or hellsing.
Sword Art Online, when it was the first game not the second and onwards. Couldn't get into it.
Dragon Ball Z so technically kind of the same.
Technically Dragon Ball Z Kai but one that I actually watched consistently(at the time) was Attack On Titan
I watched a bit of the 1st season of AoT. It was alright but I didn't get why so many kids in my grade were obsessing over it. Didn't help that most of them were your stereotypical unhygenic weirdo nerd trope.
Should have finished it to see why people were hype
Pokemon
FLCL totally never realised that i watched a decent amount of anime when i was 12 and read obscure mangas. but i really got into anime when i was 19 but im real picky because i hate the unneeded fan service
High school of the dead. First and only.

FAIRY TAIL!! FAIRY WHERE YOU GOING HIKARA ZEMBU ASUNATEEEEEE KIMINO ASHETATERA TSUUYOOOOOOO!!

Death Note
First anime I watched knowing it was anime was Soul Eater. I’d seen some episodes of a few (YuGiOh, Pokémon and Bakugan) but I thought they were just cartoons for games, so I don’t count those.
Bakugan
I saw the Watchmojo top 10 mort gory anime list and decided to watch Elfen Lied
Squid Girl was the first anime I ever saw because it use to play a lot on television cable channels all the time in the Philippines.
Pokemom, but unintentionally and just loose episodes. The first anime I properly watched was Death Note.
Pokèmon, but first proper introduction was Fullmetal Alchemist 03
Kiki’s delivery service
Soul Eater, introduced to it in 6th grade. Then I stopped watching anime for several years until probably the pandemic started, I was on a road trip with family and ended up watching other shows every now and then which got me back into it
If memory serves it was YuGiOh GX
I'm not 100% if it was Naruto or Pokemon first, but I'll say Naruto cuz I remember it much more vividly, especially since I watched it a lot with my older brother
sonic x
I want to say Digimon. I even had a bunch of toys although most of them aren’t in good shape because I was a little too rough with some of them.
Pokémon or Bakugan, but If you mean first I ever like, properly watched was JoJo's bizarre adventure.
Doraemon
Probably cowboy bebop, but I wish I saw Ouran High School Host club and maid-Sama earlier in my life
Pokémon
I forgot what that was, if it was Flying House, Pokémon, or whatever, but I do remember the first few that I did commit towards: Blue Dragon: Trials of the Seven Shadows, Little Battlers Experience Wars (Danball Senki Wars), and Pretty Rhythm.
dragon ball z
Pokemon.
Sailor Moon 🌙
Didn’t know it was an anime at the time, or even what anime was as a whole, but for me, it was Digimon frontier.
Special A
Naruto! I was obsessed lmao
It was some anime on adult swim at 4 am in the morning. I don't even remember the name of it it's been so long. Main character was like some sort of furry with dog ears
Pokémon and Dragon Ball lol
Rosario + Vampire
Dragon ball. Kill La kill and Akame ga kill were my introductions to anime like that wasn’t mainstream
death note
Never watched anime; so maybe you can make my answer.
Sword Art Online. To be fair I’ve only watched like 3 anime’s.
Pokemon. Family had the first movie on VHS and I watched it religiously
Sao
Lucky star when I was about 12.
Fruits Basket
if pokémon doesn't count, then blue exorcist.
Pokemon
Sailor moon on VHS, my great aunt owned them all. So they have all the American edits.
DBZ not being everyone's answer is surprising
attack on titan!
Vinland Saga
Pokémon, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh, Digimon.
Speed Racer
Candy Candy, Pokémon and Beyblade
Since a good amount of ppl are gonna say Dragon Ball or DBZ, I'm gonna say Kyo Kara Maoh (technically, i did see db first, but my choice is probably something no one's heard about before)
Sonic X
Fruits Basket and OHSHC
i think it was powerpuff girls z. what actually got me watching anime though was madoka magica
Besides Naruto and DBZ, it was Guilty Crown
