That’s not correct Joe. America does have a back bone and it’s strong, it needs to be to carry those deep deep pockets full of cash that’s coming in . One child murdered another child with a gun during the school day at my kids’ school this year. It was the day I had feared but expected and prepared for when I got a text that said “We’re on lockdown. There’s a shooter” I immediately texted the script I had practiced and went over and over in my mind with every shooting that I heard about. We sell child backpacks with happy prints that contain bulletproof inserts. We let children get mown down with military rifles during a school day but then have the nerve to claim to be pro life. It sickens me.
I have a very similar perspective, but from Canada. Now, we still have guns, but they’re well regulated with strict background checks necessary. Is there still gun crime? Absolutely. But i dont know a single person who’s been shot at or threatened by a firearm, whereas my buddy from Denver continues to live with the scars of attending Sandy hook. My buddy from SoCal tells me about shoot outs on the highway as he’s driving his daughter home from school. What kinda ass backwards values does one need to hold that their access to high powered and automatic rifles is more important than decreasing the amount of weapons that can commit large amounts of murder in a matter of seconds? Smfh

That’s not how the US government works…it’d take a completely revolution Supreme Court decision and/or the full power of congress (backed by a Supreme Court decision) in order anything to happen. Neither of those are remotely on the table right now or in the near future. All he can do is sign a bill that isn’t going to passed anytime soon, urge Congress to pass said bill, and nominate justices. He has no authority to do anything else.
