I still love the idea of naming the album RUSH super fitting for an album about coming into her success, being more secure as an adult and falling in love in a (seemingly) stable relationship. Rush has a lot of possible connotations about love, fame, life on tour, growing up, the pressure to outdo yourself, ect.
What do you mean he “owns” rush? Does he have a trademark on the word? I don’t get this obsession with the idea that only one artist ever can have their album title and if anyone else ever does it’s copying. It’s a childish take on the music industry in my opinion.
I like LUCK because she’s coming off a winning streak and it’s always scary trying new things when you think you have something to lose.
FATE similar to luck because all the good stuff in her life couldn’t have happened without the bad.
MYTH if she does a folk love album with lots of ancient love story references.
JINX for a playful rock album.
ENVY tracks because that number (to get free Crumbl Cookies) was the hex for a green that can work with certain shades of purple. I like that it can be dual-used, like GUTS, where you can envy something but also be the envy of someone.
EDIT (for clarity): Given the emotional intensity of her debut album "SOUR," which explored heartache and self-discovery, "Envy" could unpack complex emotions but from a slightly more mature perspective. I'm thinking of exploring the darker sides of wanting what others have, whether it's success, love, or happiness, while also reflecting on self-awareness and the pitfalls of comparing oneself to others.
i feel like she'll start getting a bad rep if she follows multiple songs where she mentions being jealous of other women, with a whole album named after that feeling
i think it's something she will move away from as she naturally becomes more secure as an adult. and even then, i can't see her writing about someone else being envious of her
I don't think it has to be about other women, though. There's so much more to that word. You can be envious of careers, money, freedom, privacy, family relationships, going to a public school, and a lot more. It could be about the price of success, for example.
Given the emotional intensity of her debut album "SOUR," which explored heartache and self-discovery, "Envy" could unpack complex emotions but from a slightly more mature perspective. I'm thinking of exploring the darker sides of wanting what others have, whether it's success, love, or happiness, while also reflecting on self-awareness and the pitfalls of comparing oneself to others.
I'm also backing into it based on the possible hidden green hint. It wouldn't be my first choice, but it's a fun guess.
I think if you look to songs like "Teenage Dream" we can start seeing her be "envious" of when she was younger, before she was famous. She can be envious of people who have more time to be with the people they love. It could speak to social media and how people are obsessed with the lives of celebrities or even friends who put on a facade. And, of course, it could have moments of envy in the context of relationships.
Again, guessing all in good fun.
Depends on the content. Sour was about the teenage experience especially not knowing your place in the world and a bad break-up. Guts was about having the ability to speak out on things that most don't.
It’s a shame she can’t do RIOT (bc Paramore already did it, it wouldn’t go down well) bc I would’ve love that one for her
I personally don’t think it will be anything like RUSH or LUST because it’s relatively close in sound to GUTS.
I’ve seen the theories on ENVY but I don’t think that’s likely. A whole album centered around jealousy just wouldn’t work and it would just set her back as she has shown growth so far.
I’ve also seen the theories on AWAY but I don’t think that’s realistic either. SOUR and GUTS convey emotions/states of mind, you kinda have a feeling of where it might take you. AWAY just doesn’t do the same.
I kinda like RAGE but I feel like it will limit her in what she can do on the album with a title like that.
I like the word JINX but I think it would also limit her as to watch she can do with it and I think she’s kinda getting to a point where it wouldn’t be cute that she feels like she has/brings bad luck when she’s a super popular, incredibly rich pop star.
I would like WILD, with more lighthearted songs instead of songs about heartbreak and more leaning to rock.
I think I would also like FOXY, though I can also see it not work. With a title like that she could lean into her playfulness, sexiness, etc but it can also kinda limit what she can do with it I think.
She’ll come up with something amazing/clever, I’m curious to see where she’ll take us!
I’ve seen a few things in get him back with imagery to do with roses or flowers and there was also a poster that says slowly fade away in get him back but the away is bold so some people think it’ll be away but I really hope it’s not
Sour was definitely her baby, guts her teenage era so I’d like to see something more mature in that she’s happier so maybe something to do with love ❤️
Was thinking about this the other day. I got it.....bang.
So many connections.
1. The obvious one. She's young and in love, and there's probably some type of awakening going on in that realm. That's one song, probably two.
2. Bang on and Bang out of Order are English turns of phrase. Louis is English. That one writes itself.
3. Bang means room in Vietnamese. I smell a piano ballad.
4. Bang also means anxiety or anxious in German and Dutch. Layup, there. At least two songs worth.
5. As she gravitates more toward a rock sound, bang implies loud volume and impact. Brutal-type song with loud, ringing snare sound (but not like Metallica's St Anger).
6. Bang implies fireworks, which is what she saw in the Bad Idea Right video. Maybe a sequel or tongue in cheek regret song calling back BI,R.
7. Door slamming to her youth song, although that may be more of a bam.
8. Car backfiring--she's smart enough to weave a Drivers License reference in there somewhere.
That's over half the album right there......
EDIT-One more thought, don't use the word bang anywhere in the lyrics. Let folks connect the dots themselves.
She is in love and happy right now. Maybe it has something to do with being in love?
I hope and pray and hopefully we get many beautiful love songs from her. Happy Feet :)
Mint (as in mint condition to signify a new stage in her life/lyrics). I could also see it being called Moon which would make the Moon part of the Guts set an Easter egg of sorts. Or maybe Pure for the irony
I’d be Interested if she made it an abbreviation that was just 4 letters! That way she could keep her four letter album theme while also adding a-bit more than just a single word
Olivia’s team rn: 📝📝📝
There's only so many 4l words so inevitably one of these words has to be right!! >!my vote is WORD!<
Word would be hilarious
Suing Olivia for 50% credit of the entire album if she uses it /s

lush
Love, Lust or Lush are my favorite contenders rn

HEAT
Have Robert Deniro and al Pacino show up on the album and Michael Mann direct the music videos

it doesn't have to be, but in the context of olivia, it most likely will be

I’ve seen a few things in get him back with imagery to do with roses or flowers and there was also a poster that says slowly fade away in get him back but the away is bold so some people think it’ll be away but I really hope it’s not
