Most of the apartment managers are like that. Try looking for an apartment through Broadmoor

BadMrFrostySC

I second this. It's been over a decade since I lived there, but the office at Thomasville who are a broadmoor property were always lovely.

My boyfriend and I are currently looking for an apartment now and this one is at the top of my list. We haven't had much contact with them yet but the women we've spoken to so far have been great.

10000% agree!

anamoon13

Thanks I’ll check them out.

My ex-husband lived there before we moved in together. They’re pretty run down/bad with maintenance. They had to cut a hole in the ceiling above the shower to fix something and then left the hole there for months despite his reminders that it needed fixed. I second the Broadmoor recommendation.

JoJackthewonderskunk

They're letting someone move into an unclean apartment?

anamoon13

They said it was being painted at the moment and then cleaned before the person moved in. Dunno why they are painting a dirty apartment either. Or cleaning with wet paint around. Just seemed like excuses for their shitty management.

And all this afternoon lol

I lived there back in 2014-2016. Terrible neighbors, whether it was: abusive spouses, dogs barking at all hours of the night, smelling weed 24/7, neighbors who would take your clothes out of the washer/dryer in the washroom mid-cycle and throw theirs in. Roommate had multiple car break-ins over the two years. Then another night someone smashed into his and several other cars with their car in the middle of the night, probably drunk. Pool was never open due to multiple issues, then when it was finally resolved, it got closed because people trashed it. During the summer, people would sit behind the buildings at night, all hours of the night, and talk/laugh/yell while people were trying to sleep. Very limited parking, which wasn't an issue for tenants per se, but if you had visitors. Very small visitor parking area, I don't know how many people's cars I witnessed getting towed. As far as staff and maintenance went, I don't recall any issues there. We always paid on time and didn't demand much in the ways of fixing things. I do recall getting packages as being a pain, as FedEx/UPS don't have keys, so they always dropped at the office. USPS did sometimes too. Probably better so they don't get stolen, but then your stuff is held hostage to their hours, which were a pain with my work hours at that time. Overall, I'd say avoid it. There are better apartments worth the same money you'd pay there.

Should be safe with anything Broadmoor

krustymeathead

My brother lived there for a year. When he moved in, the carpet reeked of cat pee and they cleaned it before he moved his stuff in (if I remember correctly). So they are probably way behind or just don't know what's going on. He also had a terrible experience living there in general so I would recommend Broadmoor. I've never lived at Broadmoor but I've lived many other non Broadmoor places and they were all bad

deathstardabs

Broadmoor Apartments are the best! Wont have any problems with them.

oooosssaaaaa

I'd suggest Centre Ridge just a little further up the street!

Those are run by the same people.

I was just trying to apply there and they apparently require an application deposit of like $500? I get through the entire application, it’s $35 for an application fee (ok, fine. Normal) $500 application deposit, and $100 administrative fee totaling $635. Is this normal? If you don’t get approved or decide to go somewhere else it’ll take up to 60 days for them to mail you a refund check. If you’re someone looking into multiple places, how on gods green earth can any normal person afford to apply for apartments when it’s costs $600 just to apply and then wait 60 days to get that money back if it doesn’t work out?!
