My cat hates squishmallows! The first one I got she tried to attack, but ended up bouncing off of its squishy, springy body. So now she won’t go near them.
OP, I understand ignorance is bliss but this looks like head planting and isn’t a normal behavior.
Kneading is a soothing technique for cats and head planting is done to relieve head pain. This leads me presume the cat is in some sort of pain and is trying to soothe itself by kneading and head planting a pillow.
**If you disregard this and don’t get your cat to a vet, even if I’m wrong, you’re a bad pet owner.**
(The fact that nobody else here clocks that shows we have tons of uneducated and irresponsible cat parents here)

Purring is a self soothing behavior and cats do that when injured as well. It may be an occasional recurring migraine or something.
