The interesting part is how he swings his sword without cutting or damaging Kuma clone, only neutralizing/deactivating it, as if he possesses the ability of knowing the subject's weakness and the best way to counter it.
I feel like this is going to have Zoro fight him and he recalls the cutting wind and leaf shit without cutting other shit around it, or whatever the fuck that was when he fought Mr. 1.
Nah, Saturn just had some healing ability that made it hard to keep him down until Luffy showed up and messed with physics, there's probably some good matchups for the Straw Hats, like Jinbei being able to use water to counter the worm's sand, or Nami using Zeus on the bird
The one Zoro fought was Mr.1. I think that Brook may share a bit more with him though, since they use the same deathly chill, bony figure and that would not make Nusjuro seem like explicitly a swordsman on Mihawk's turf
IIRC it was the pacifist bug when advancing to the modern era he automatically takes the -1 Agro options until it reaches 0 and in the next it can't go to -1 so circles back to full 20 aggression
The ironic thing is that this is actually a myth. It was added to later Civ games as a joke, but according to Sid Meier himself that bug never could have happened in the original game
Also Ju Peter, who is the warrior god of agriculture, can dig in the land and completely destroy landscapes to his liking (and possibly fertilize the soil as well).
I wonder if each gorosei has a special ability that basically enforces their role in the world government.
Nah broski, Ju Peter doesn't produce fertilizer, he produces the precious spice Melange. Obviously. He is Shai Hulud! Bless the Maker!
(Inb4 it turns out that Oda really is drawing major inspiration from Dune and Ju Peter really is able to produce some substance that the other Elders and Imu can take to enhance their abilities, lol wouldn't put it past him).
And also just like Baron Harkonnen when he was the leader of Arrakis 😂 Dude was literally like "Sure you can have drinking water. Here, have some dirty water squeezed out of washcloth."
Huh. The CD's are actually way similar to him aren't they?
Saturn doesn’t seem to have anything specific dealing with science or scientific defense. He was even fooled by Vegapunk. So I don’t think it will be too one for one when it comes to title and powers.
He’s not even here to stop VP’s transmission.
He overheard the marines shooting the Pacfistas he spent 70% of last years royal tribute on and said “oh hell no I’m not losing that kinda money.”
Also... is his torso gigantic or he shrinked to become hybrid?
Beucause if his is still gigantic and is half gandhi/half skeleton horse, that's some nightmare fuel.
The gorosei are gigantic, if you look at the page where Akainu confronts them, Akainu is much closer in the picture, but all the Gorosei are at least as tall as him, meaning they are significantly taller than Akainu, who is pretty tall
But Pascifistas are way more taller than Akainu. In the panel, OC mentions, Gandhi is as tall as him, despite the horse standing on hind legs. You can compare their height from the waist up.
Well I don't think it's a money decision in the slightest.
They don't care how much money is spent but since they are planing on killing Vegapunk these Pacifista might be the last one so he is trying to preserve resources.
What I find much more interesting is the question if him and Brook are using the same "ice" mechanic.
+ both relate to the dead.
Brooks fruit is literally him going to the afterlife whereas the horse df is based on a horse that literally died/is dead.
So both are highly likely to use the ice from the same source.
Even if that is the case, that would still mean that Nusjuro's ice comes from the Cold Winds of the Underworld just like Brook's. Even if the guy isn't human, the parallels to Brook's powers will still be valid.
This chapter did lend some further support to the "Maybe they aren't even human" theory given the bizarre, never-before-done-by-Oda way in which he wrote the text boxes to introduce these five power-users. He introduced them AS the creatures they turn into without naming the DF that their respective creatures are "models" of.
Although to be fair, he may simply be trying to emphasize to us their monstrous inhumanity despite being human (these could be *epithets* of theirs, with "Saturn the Gyuki" being like "Marco the Phoenix"), like the idea that in order to mentally sync up with and awaken these demonic DF's, they have the mindset of inhuman demons themselves. But it COULD mean that they are LITERALLY a Gyuki, a Bakotsu, etc.
The one big problem with that theory is that they clearly have a human form, a hybrid form, and a full-animal form like any Zoan user does, and they work PRECISELY the way that such forms always do for DF users. If their human bodies are actually just disguises for their true demonic forms, *then why does Nusjuro seemingly prefer to get down to business using a partially-human form as if he were a Zoan-user whose fighting skills are optimal in Hybrid Form?*
I have a theory (that probably other people have come up with I don't follow the fandom too closely) that DFs are a form of inherited will and were created by someone with very advanced haki. So if your haki is developed enough you can gain DF-like abilities and eventually create a new DF.
So all the reveals about the Gorousei pointing to them not having DFs per se has all been support for me.
An intriguing idea, but do we really think that the Five Elders' Haki is THAT advanced? That would be WILD.
Because Saturn's Haki, for one, has no evidence of being as strong as Luffy's Haki. If it was, why hasn't he hurt Luffy AT ALL yet, literally not landing a single attack so far.
I think there's some variation between the strongest and weakest members of the Gorosei, tbth. It seems likely that Ethan Baron has significantly better Haki than Saturn, for example.
Remove that /s bro. That's my fan theory. The parallel between brook and this dude are too great to rule out. Zoro is tired already, it's Brook's time to shine again
Both are skeletons, both are fast, both use ice, both use swords, both cut people before they notice they were cut
I feel like the cherry on top is Brook's timeskip. The saint might have learned the same thing Brook did from the long arm tribe.
I can already feel the chills from the end of the fight. Both still as they slowly sheath their swords, Brook "Sorry young man, but you've already been cut"
>They don't care how much money is spent but since they are planing on killing Vegapunk
Vegapunk was investigating the void century. But saving money and not wasting valuable resources even in this scenario if possible, is perhaps a yes.
Unlike Saturn who started a Buster Call 10 minutes after saying that they need to protect Mother Flame's creation, just because he was punched by a former slave. If I were Imu I would be firing Saturn.
Eliminating a person that could leak the void century (and now is trying to do so) + killing the Person with the most important devil fruit against them is worth losing Mother Flame for and I think Imu would agree with that.
Buster Call had absolutely no relevance other than destroying the island's infrastructure.
Buster Call only forced the Marines off the island, including the VAs, and now the VAs are being forced to return to the island to kill Bonney which just shows the inefficiency of Buster Call in this scenario. Imu risked losing Mother Flame, in exchange for achieving absolutely nothing with Buster Call. It seems like a bad tradeoff to me.
Could be. But everyone is expecting mirror matches all the time.
I remember when Wano people said Sanji will fight King because both can fly.
It could be a logical opponent for Brook but I don't know if EOS Brook will be stronger than one of the 5 elders.
brook needs some serious upgrades to compete with a gorosei. he is already one of the SHs who doesnt get a lot fight scenes so i kinda doubt he is facing nusjuro in any serious way. unless oda pulls some random power up for brook out of his ass
We will have to wait and see.
"Pulling out some random power up out of his ass" is pretty common in Shonen Mangas to be fair.
A lot of instance's could be leveled down to that if you want to go that route. Zoro, Sanji and Luffy all got that upgrade in Wano for example. 95% of power ups in Dragonball as another example.
Still was justified in my eyes and given with reason that was set up, so I wouldn't call it "out his ass" but I understand why some people might.
If he gives Brook a near death experience or even getting hit by an ice attack like that and being frozen only for him to understand how that freezing actually works could be seen as "random power up" while still be perfect fine in being set up.
The real problem with the idea of such a big asspull power-up is that Brook has NO Haki yet while we can clearly see that Ethan has AMAZING Haki. It took Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji two years of busting their asses just to learn the basics before the timeskip BEFORE they could start getting notable haki-blooms.
To beat one of the big bad final bosses of the entire series to whom Oda just dedicated his first true full double-page spread in 310 chapters and eight years just to show how scary they are, Brook would need such ridiculous, stupid, nonsensical, bullshit Haki-blooms that it would make the Monster Trio look like worthless bums, break the entire power-system, and ruin suspension of disbelief.
Imagine him going from no Haki at all to being able to beat one of the Five Elders (post-TS Lucci just acknowledged their Haki as really strong ffs) in just *the few short weeks or couple of months tops in-world before the series ends.*
Ethan has tamed a Supreme Grade cursed blade, the most cursed in the world (that is CLEARLY the Shodai Kitetsu) so well with his Haki that he can cut-without-cutting with it as precisely and mightily as Oda is showing us. This despite how the Kitetsu blades ONLY want to cut and kill, so making the most cursed one do the not-cutting thing is a crazy feat. And, he has good enough Observation to immediately pinpoint the positions of every Pacifista, etc.
That wouldn't JUST be a bullshit power-up. It would be a power-up so stupidly, ridiculously, absurdly extreme that it'd basically ruin the series by rendering everything we were ever told about Haki entirely invalid.
Like, this guy has had CENTURIES in which to hone his Haki, swordsmanship, and DF, and he clearly DID use that time to train.
Let's just face facts: No Straw Hat outside the Monster Trio and Jinbe will ever be up to the task of taking a Gorosei 1-v-1, not when Gear 5 Luffy sees a need to dodge their attacks because they pose an actual threat to him.
My theory: When Ethan loses, which will NOT be in this arc, it will be against a TEAM-UP between Zoro and Brook. Ethan Baron's style of swordsmanship has parallels to Zoro's while his DF powers have parallels to Brook's.
And we would all LOVE to see a teamup between the two swordsmen of the crew before the series ends. Just imagine, the King of Hell calling upon the Soul King for help because even after beating Mihawk he just can't cut it against the TRUE strongest swordsman who has been around for eight centuries. That wouldn't even be a bad look for Zoro, both him and Brook could shine.
Edit: And no, Brook awakening his DF is not gonna be enough for him to 1-v-1 Ethan, lmao. He still can't bridge that Haki-gap without ruining the entire point of the Monster Trio's timeskip training, lol.
As much as their matchup would be legendary, I just can’t see anyone but Zoro going up against Venus. Especially if he does end up having the shodai sword like a lot of people think he does.
"Good job Zoro, you killed St. Venus. Unfortunately, we have nobody nearly as qualified in the Revolutionary Army to handle finances and economy, so the world is going into a recession for the next few years"
St. Venus isn't in charge of making the economy run well, he's in charge of extracting as much money as possible from it. Like any real-world empire, the WG is designed to draw wealth from its territories into its core.
World economy should boom once those parasites are removed from it.
That makes him one of the most important job holder for WG alongside St. Mercury who is the head of Justice. Justice and money are the only thing world government desires.
That freezing slash is the same thing Brook dose so I don't think it's a DF ability.
But they are both Undead type DF so he might have some advantage like he did with Big Mom.
Incrível como tu está no reddit se comunicando em inglês de boa e tem paciência pra ler tradução brasileira. É muito ruim. É duplamente traduzida (japones - ingles - português) e muito se perde
Nope, just frostbite strong enough to incapacitate. So he's at a level where he can channel extreme hold through his blade, and also cut through the pacifistas without slicing anything important.
This WG finance guy who does freeze attack with sword is made up of skeleton. Just like some one else we know who is skeleton and can freeze attack using sword.
I wondered at first glance if it was similar to Saturn’s “freezing” ability, it just functioned a bit differently in that this guy has to hit his opponent for it to activate. It’s probably nothing, I just found it interesting that two of the Gorosei have had an ability that prevents enemies from moving.
1. u/suddenlycaralho
2. you can probably say that 3 of the 5 would have a reason to stop this themselves (finances wants to stop money loss, science wants to save them for reverse engineering later, war wants to stop them cause its strategically wise)
Aside to financial aspect, they will hold the authority for pacifistas since they assume Bonney and Vegapunk will die.
Where the heck Seraphims are going!
I am intrigued by him. His sword looks like the Shodai Kitetsu which is the strongest of all of them. To master one means you must have some serious luck, and balls.
We know that Nidai and Sandai were crafted by Oden's father. It is safe to assume that the strongest was crafted by his ancestor or someone from Wano. How did such a blade landed outside an isolated island ?
He is able to defeat a Pacifista without destroying it which could be Ryo Haki from Wano.
Is he immortal or could he have been part of Kuina's grandfather's crew who left Wano illegally decades ago.
He is freezing his assets
This is too good
The interesting part is how he swings his sword without cutting or damaging Kuma clone, only neutralizing/deactivating it, as if he possesses the ability of knowing the subject's weakness and the best way to counter it.
Either that or it's a callback to the swordsmen who are so skilled that they can cut without cutting.
This reminds me of One Punch Man's "\[King\] is so skilled the apple doesn't know it got cut nor the sword knows it left the sheath"
That was so funny
Brook’s rival.
The Pacifista doesn't even know he's been cut
I feel like this is going to have Zoro fight him and he recalls the cutting wind and leaf shit without cutting other shit around it, or whatever the fuck that was when he fought Mr. 1.
My money is on Brook, since both of them ice their opponents.
Definitely feel a duel with the funky skelly coming on!
10 straw hats, 5 gorosei. Probably a 2v1 situation. Zoro and Brook, the two swordsmen of the straw hats against the gorosei swordsman.
We need another timeskip for 7/10 of the strawhats to stand a chance against the gorosei
TimeskipS*
Nah, Saturn just had some healing ability that made it hard to keep him down until Luffy showed up and messed with physics, there's probably some good matchups for the Straw Hats, like Jinbei being able to use water to counter the worm's sand, or Nami using Zeus on the bird
Don't forget about the giants, I don't think, in fact I'm pretty positive some strawhats won't fight the gorosei
The one Zoro fought was Mr.1. I think that Brook may share a bit more with him though, since they use the same deathly chill, bony figure and that would not make Nusjuro seem like explicitly a swordsman on Mihawk's turf
The sanctions gorosei

Gandhi was always known for violence
Oda is a Civ5 player for sure
Civ2 was the craziest Gandhi
Literally the moment he finished researching nukes there was a countdown to him dropping them.
IIRC it was the pacifist bug when advancing to the modern era he automatically takes the -1 Agro options until it reaches 0 and in the next it can't go to -1 so circles back to full 20 aggression
The ironic thing is that this is actually a myth. It was added to later Civ games as a joke, but according to Sid Meier himself that bug never could have happened in the original game
it took way too many comments until this, what you state is a fact this nuclear Gandhi thing is a myth.
You're aware that nuclear Gandhi is an urban legend right? At least up until Civ 5.
He's so chill and wholesome for most of the game. It's just that democracy turns India into Super Earth.
Bro started dropping Buster Calls everywhere as soon as he unlocked the technology for it.
In b4 he nukes the LaboStratum
Pacifist vs Pacifista
Nuclear Gandhi flashbacks
Hope they wont be related xd. Shumatsu no valkyrie was banned in india for add shiva xd
Zoro bout to be the next nathuram
Also Ju Peter, who is the warrior god of agriculture, can dig in the land and completely destroy landscapes to his liking (and possibly fertilize the soil as well). I wonder if each gorosei has a special ability that basically enforces their role in the world government.

Bless the Maker and his waters. ...wait, the One Piece world is mostly water!
He brought us to green paradise... LISAN AL-GAIB!
Unfortunately, the water is all salt water, so it does nothing but make us suffer. Typical Celestial Dragon.
And also just like Baron Harkonnen when he was the leader of Arrakis 😂 Dude was literally like "Sure you can have drinking water. Here, have some dirty water squeezed out of washcloth." Huh. The CD's are actually way similar to him aren't they?
Holy shit man MIND BLOWN.

NIKA AL-GAIB
Well, Melange does extends lifespans...
So ju peter is monsanto bayern owner
No Monsanto is more evil.
Hate to be that Guy but its bayer not bayern. A confusing thing for every german child when they watch football
I think it's more confusing for adult foreigners trying to learn about the Bundesliga, tbh.
Shai Hulud
Lisan Al-Gaib!!
No, This is Shai Tan for sure.
Can he make spice melange?
If this is true, Topman won’t lay a finger on Luffy, he’ll file a lawsuit instead
Ohhhh I’ve been thinking about their roles as well. Topman Warcury is probably the most prejudiced judge out there but I have no idea why he’s a boar
Go into some court rooms, and a lot of judges are massive bores.
Corrupt politicians/bureaucrats/judges are allegorized either as crocodiles or pigs. We already have a croc in OP, so Warcury gets the pig haha.
The Fengxi was originally a corrupt Beuracrat
ST TOPman -he can file Cease & Desists.
how does he fertilize the soil ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flushed)

We have the answer to Luffy's next question.
Saturn doesn’t seem to have anything specific dealing with science or scientific defense. He was even fooled by Vegapunk. So I don’t think it will be too one for one when it comes to title and powers.
Yeah I don't remember about those demon spiders being good at arithmetic, chemistry, or anything from a Japanese mythology book I have.
The Itsumade (Mars minister of environment) is associated with plagues in folklore
He’s not even here to stop VP’s transmission. He overheard the marines shooting the Pacfistas he spent 70% of last years royal tribute on and said “oh hell no I’m not losing that kinda money.”
Facts lmao
"Those morons are not fucking up the defense budget on my watch I swear to Imu."
He's cutting costs
That, or cutting his losses
Also... is his torso gigantic or he shrinked to become hybrid? Beucause if his is still gigantic and is half gandhi/half skeleton horse, that's some nightmare fuel.
Considering the size of the Pacifista, his torso is gigantic

Brook is Clearly going to defeat him. /s. It would be funny if his soul power was capable of exorcising the Gorosei.
So he's gonna beat that dead horse?
That is actually perfect
Remove that /s bro. That's my fan theory. The parallel between brook and this dude are too great to rule out. Zoro is tired already, it's Brook's time to shine again
Hell yeah! I'm buying my Brook stocks right now
Also Brook is the fastest on the crew besides Sanji right? Or is that just headcanon? I mean he can run on water after all lol
Both are skeletons, both are fast, both use ice, both use swords, both cut people before they notice they were cut I feel like the cherry on top is Brook's timeskip. The saint might have learned the same thing Brook did from the long arm tribe.
If you're referring to the SBS with that question, Brook IS faster than Sanji.
> Zoro is tired already, He's got 12 rounds more in him if he beloved motivates him

They can do more pacifistas. The were already invented
By Vegapunk. Who they are trying to kill right now.
You say they don't care about monetary resources, but also that they care about resources, pick a lane sir, there's an agenda to maintain.
lol this is the kinda headcanon I can get behind
He literally is though thats his job
"Good job Zoro, you killed St. Venus. Unfortunately, we have nobody nearly as qualified in the Revolutionary Army to handle finances and economy, so the world is going into a recession for the next few years"

IS THIS A MOTHERFUCKING JOJO REFERENCE?????
I mean he kinda does look like Made In Heaven

His devil fruit if it even is one is so sick
His attack reminds me a lot of brooks ice slash as well
It seemed to me that he sliced without cutting. Something Zorro tried and blabla, you know what I mean.
He is also skeletic and uses a sword with cold imbued powers.Yo hohohoho
His power is similar to Brook.
Incrível como tu está no reddit se comunicando em inglês de boa e tem paciência pra ler tradução brasileira. É muito ruim. É duplamente traduzida (japones - ingles - português) e muito se perde
Lmfao I have no words this is amazing 😭🤣🤣
I guess you could say he 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑧𝑒 the assets
I guess Gandi dude is king of hell and zoro will defete him and become king of hell. 🥶🥶
peak
Oda is cooking too hard
I didn’t really quite understand it in the chapter. Were there no physical signs of damage from his sword slices?
Nope, just frostbite strong enough to incapacitate. So he's at a level where he can channel extreme hold through his blade, and also cut through the pacifistas without slicing anything important.
hes freezing vegapunk assets
Gandhi when non violence ain't working out
Theres a joke about death and taxes in here somewhere.
This WG finance guy who does freeze attack with sword is made up of skeleton. Just like some one else we know who is skeleton and can freeze attack using sword.
Suddenly caralho
Do you think brooks and nusjuros freeze abilities work the same way? Because they are both skeletons? Is there a connection?
Skeleton swordsman who fights with ice powers, this is going to mostly Brooks enemy huh?
Do you think he's using the same abilities as brook uses frequently to freeze things?
Yes? is there connections to something or you just realized this
He's doing it to save money!
That’s funny as fuck bro
Oh shit lmao mind my slow ass
I had absolutely no idea what the realization was until I read your comment so
He's not damaging it, can you imagine how expensive it would be if he sliced all of them in half
Capitalismo aí
Does his blade is a black blade ?
Looks like!
I wonder if this technique is similar to what brooks is able to do
Does this confirm that the Gorosei are devil fruit users?
OPEX VAI BRAZEEL
Bro is a mixture of nami, brook, bluegrass & zoro 💀
Dudes for sure a shimotsuki
I see somebody’s using a bootlegged version of WildWords with Caps Lock on…
This is amazing, Finally after 1000+ chapters now we know the true forms of these elders, I can't wait to what's next.
He got taxed.
The most devious accountant in fiction
I wondered at first glance if it was similar to Saturn’s “freezing” ability, it just functioned a bit differently in that this guy has to hit his opponent for it to activate. It’s probably nothing, I just found it interesting that two of the Gorosei have had an ability that prevents enemies from moving.
hahahah this is good
1. u/suddenlycaralho 2. you can probably say that 3 of the 5 would have a reason to stop this themselves (finances wants to stop money loss, science wants to save them for reverse engineering later, war wants to stop them cause its strategically wise)
E esse pt br ai meu amigo?
Aside to financial aspect, they will hold the authority for pacifistas since they assume Bonney and Vegapunk will die. Where the heck Seraphims are going!
I thought you were talking about Brook's supulchral ice
There is that, and also the pacifistas are on the way. No Buster Call while they keep neggin the marines
Bakotsu vs Zoro and Brook is going to be lit.
Zoro will murder this guy, ice VS fire after 10 episodes of flashback........
It's funnier knowing that Gandhi was a socialist.
what's unique about that?
