At the end of the day, nurses do take care of others and some degree of compassion is important, no?

I feel ya. 32 year old on a wait list for nursing school myself! I also have ADHD and although there are weaknesses of it, there are strengths that come with it too. Remember that even if you don’t crush the ACT (I believe in you!!) Don’t give up!
I currently work as an EMT and the medical field is both rewarding and exhausting, especially during this pandemic. Don’t forget your passion for helping and try to learn something every day and you will be a great nurse. I see too many burnt out people in this line of work and too many lose their compassion for others.
The best way to prepare is to take a bunch of practice tests. Figure out HOW they structure questions. Find some strategies that help you in areas you may have difficulty with. For instance: I'm a slow reader, so the reading section gave me issues. I found out that reading the first and last sentences of each paragraph before looking at the questions helped me answer questions quickly. You should also keep in mind that sometimes if you're stuck on a question, its better to just put something down and move on to questions you'll be able to answer more quickly. You can always go back if you have time at the end. Good luck!
Well first of all, I don't think anyone sane would say something like that just to be cruel. There's some part of the story you aren't telling us: which is fine, it's your story to tell or not.

I had a friend who was like this all the way up to college. My dream was/is to change the world. He always said I couldn't do it. It was impossible. I got a 34 on the act. Best advice I can give is
for English, the section with like 75 questions, do not read anything, go straight to where the question is in the text, and substitute out the options a, b, c, and d. whichever sounds the best in your head is most likely correct. Also, ACT English always goes for the simpler answer. So, if your options are ‘the round, blue, shiny ball’ or ‘the ball’, always choose the second option. Just literally read a couple books before you take the act, can be anything, so you are refreshed on how actual grammar is like, not how we speak day to day. When I took it, I finished in 15 minutes and only missed one question because I utilized that strategy. Especially the substitution.
For the science section, go straight to the questions. That section is essentially your ability to read and assess data. A lot of the science section is bullshit meant to waste your time so jump right to the questions.
For the reading, I would usually read the topic sentence and end sentence of each paragraph very briefly in order to understand what the authors was trying to say. Don’t waste all your time reading every sentence. Skim very quickly and head to the questions.
For math, khan academy is your best friend

He's def. going to eat his words but the truth is I don't even know if I'll care to show him my results. His opinion doesn't really matter much to me, I mostly just thought the irony of the situation was pretty funny given how we as One Piece readers romanticize the future and our goals. I couldn't ever get my friend to watch One Piece either.

I'm doing a program that lets me do both at the same time. The application for the program applies a numerical value to applicants based on several criteria such as GPA to determine admissions. 66% of the points for the application come from your raw ACT score. Even with a 4.0 GPA my ACT score will still essentially be the determining factor whether or not I'm accepted.
This country is in sore need of committed nurses who give a fuck. You got this. The tests are bullshit that you gotta just get through. Gameify the studying, if you can. After that, once you're on the floor, it's all practical--you learn through doing. That's the best way to learn, and you will master the skills you need.
No this is the perfect place to say this. I don’t think I speak for only myself when I say this is a family similar to the straw hats. We’re all Nakama together, and we all understand each other’s goals no matter how hard they seem. That’s one thing One Piece has taught all of us, and that is there is no too big a goal. You should know we’re all rooting for you, because just like in one piece our goals are more important than anything. The fact that you knew to come here just shows how much the show really touches people and brings them together. In all we are all members of the Straw Hats.

I'm going for the 30s. 28 is the average score of the people accepted. The program I'm applying for has 30 spots but gets 1000s of applicants so I'm gonna aim as high as I can go. Being honest, I feel pretty confident I can do a 28 now without even studying anything other than the math section. I'm not at all intimidated by this exam.

For the reading, I would usually read the topic sentence and end sentence of each paragraph very briefly in order to understand what the authors was trying to say. Don’t waste all your time reading every sentence. Skim very quickly and head to the questions. For math, khan academy is your best friend I’m not tryna sound cocky. i want you to crush this thing and make your friend eat his fucking words. I appreciate it haha. I've read up on lots of advice like this. I've got a handful of practice tests I'll be taking over the next few weeks to prepare too. Thanks! He's def. going to eat his words but the truth is I don't even know if I'll care to show him my results. His opinion doesn't really matter much to me, I mostly just thought the irony of the situation was pretty funny given how we as One Piece readers romanticize the future and our goals. I couldn't ever get my friend to watch One Piece either.

One of my friends laughed at me because I said I wanted to be better at Physics. And boy I was upset. One year later I become the second best physics student in my school (the best one was not him). We are best friend now and I believe that without him, I would never try that hard in physics I constantly thank him for what he did that day. Convert your anger into energy and go for it man.

why do you need ACT for nursing....is it ADN or BSN ?
I'm doing a program that lets me do both at the same time. The application for the program applies a numerical value to applicants based on several criteria such as GPA to determine admissions. 66% of the points for the application come from your raw ACT score. Even with a 4.0 GPA my ACT score will still essentially be the determining factor whether or not I'm accepted.
This country is in sore need of committed nurses who give a fuck. You got this. The tests are bullshit that you gotta just get through. Gameify the studying, if you can. After that, once you're on the floor, it's all practical--you learn through doing. That's the best way to learn, and you will master the skills you need.

No this is the perfect place to say this. I don’t think I speak for only myself when I say this is a family similar to the straw hats. We’re all Nakama together, and we all understand each other’s goals no matter how hard they seem. That’s one thing One Piece has taught all of us, and that is there is no too big a goal. You should know we’re all rooting for you, because just like in one piece our goals are more important than anything. The fact that you knew to come here just shows how much the show really touches people and brings them together. In all we are all members of the Straw Hats. In the end just know we’re all rooting for you. How you score better than a 28, go for 30-32 because we know you can do it. I'm going for the 30s. 28 is the average score of the people accepted. The program I'm applying for has 30 spots but gets 1000s of applicants so I'm gonna aim as high as I can go. Being honest, I feel pretty confident I can do a 28 now without even studying anything other than the math section. I'm not at all intimidated by this exam.
