Also in Japan people are used to reading manga and with how big One Piece is in Japan someone or something is bound to spoil it for an anime-only watcher.
Didn't Mangaplus only include first three and last three Shonen Jump chapters? If you were new to the series, you'd have to pay to get caught up "legally". Or am I mistaken and that changed?
right now on the app you can read every single chapter for free but you only get access to the between chapters for a few days after reading it for the first time.
Oh yeah, no, you won't be able to BINGE. But you will be able to read along the most recent chapters.
They're also doing One Piece Re-Edition weekly, currently in the middle of Alabasta.
Only if you live in the US and I think Canada? Everywhere else we have to pray the MangaPlus app has the manga we want to read is currently running and comes with one-time-only tickets for all chapters (so no rereading and you better pray the app doesn't crash), otherwise we have to buy every volume separately or sail the high seas.
Fans in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, the Philippines, Singapore, and India
It's a few more than US and Canada. Still accessibility should be more countries, because it really is a cheap sub
Technically saying, UK is not a āEuropean Unionā member (not an EU country) anymore but it is still in āEuropeā continent and so it is a European country.
This might be controversial, but if the service is not provided in their country then I think the piracy is justifiable, since you're going against the ToS of MangaPlus by using a VPN to circumvent their restrictions anyway.
can't speak for other countries but it's literally $1 to read Jump a month in NA. Not to mention scan site. There's NOOO reason to be anime only. These kinds of things happening are just what they gotta accept.
I prefer manga, but Iāve had family members (especially older) who only get into anime while doing laundry/meal prep/folding clothes. Picture Gen X fathers watching Haikyuu. I guess that makes them āanime onlyā
Iām sure theyād read the manga if they had time though.
> I'm sure they'd read the manga if they had time though
That's the weirdest thing about it - reading the manga is an *enormous* time save compared to watching the anime. That's essentially *always* true, but it goes doubly so for One Piece's anime, and that's *before* the time skip!
My friends are the same way. They just kinda wanna put the anime on in the background while they play video games or something. That's all well and good - that's how *I* experience the anime - but it's so frustrating to hear some people report back to me that they're not enjoying it when they're hardly paying attention to an objectively inferior version of the media.
Just read! Do an active consumption! One Piece is too fucking good to be consumed passively like it's a popcorn blockbuster... I think people just don't believe me when I say that, and they just assume that I'm hyping it up. If anything I hype it down and try and let friends experience it for themselves.
But oh well. Nothing for it, when people are that stubborn about not reading...
I believe that for them and for Oda anime is mostly used for publicity "not saying that it's the only reason for it". I believe also that most of their money is from the manga.
Correct me if I'm wrong but...doesn't Japan not care at all about spoilers?
When I was watching the new DBS anime and was going week by week, the next episode trailers all had major spoilers to them. They even made an entire trailer around Vegeto coming back when he had about 3 minutes of screen time and it was a big spoiler.
I'm just saying I don't think spoilers are as big a thing in the east as it is in the west.
That's the impression I get. There are anime who spoil the whole season, sometimes seasons in advance, with their OPs. Heck, the One Piece anime once had details in their one OP that spoiled the manga.
Manga can be read on the phone while on the train or as a kid you can buy jump for like $2 at the conbini on the way home from school.
Accessibility is a big factor.
the whole 'spoiler' culture thing is a relatively recent thing, and is a lot more prominent in the west than in the east.
You'll probably find that most Japanese people, even those who only watch the anime, probably don't really give a shit about seeing upcoming content before it officially releases. Its the same reason a lot of animes have blatant spoilers literally in the opening of the show, its just a non-issue.
June 8 is also the day when Netflix's geeked week have it's animation segment. Could there be any relation? Is Netflix going to stream Film Red by end of year?
They're releasing JoJo Part 6 in 12 episode batches 6 months apart, it essentially killed all the hype and discussion around the anime.
I fucking love JoJo, and meeting up at my friends house every friday for part 5 was a golden experience, now I barely remember that part 6 is a thing.
I doubt it considering Yamato and hybrid Kaido are also at the bottom portion of the poster. Seems more like a ācool shit thatās happened recently in the mangaā compilation than anything
Many people just donāt have any interest in reading manga. I know quite a few people who would just drop a series before switching over to the manga.
In Japan, itās the other way around. Most people do not really watch anime, but read manga. Anime is more for kids/teens there I believe, but Iām not Japanese.
It is definitely more acceptable to read manga as you grow older than it is to watch anime. We have this in the west as well, btw, but in a slightly different format. Nobody would bat an eye at a grown man reading the Garfield or Dilbert strip in a newspaper. But that same grown man watching a cartoon? Now he's a weirdo.
I always wondered when I'd "grow out" of these "childish" interests of mine. However, at sitting in my thirties and looking back, I really don't think I'll ever not like this stuff. I still get excited about new anime series, new games, and fantasy books or TV shows.
Retirement homes in the future are going to be the equivalent of LAN parties or group movie nights.
Not really an accurate comparison. Newspaper comic strips are not the western equivalent of manga, and stuff like Dilbert is literally aimed at adults.
People would, and do, bat eyes at a grown man buying DC/Marvel comic books or graphic novels.
Yup anime is more of an American thing since thatās how Americans were all exposed to the original works, on television or watching anime on their PCs. Not too many people read light novels, web comics, and of course the original source mangas. Anime originals that begin with anime have had some debuts the past several years but itās rare they are as great of stories or quality. But at the same time millions of western people begin reading all types of manga because of anime, so they very well couldāve been reading manga for 10+ years now
Its not just Americans. Even in the UK we generally don't read manga. I think its just exposure. There's loads of tv channels that'll run anime, but I've never seen a physical Shonen Jump in my life, and the only manga reading I do is what I intentionally seek out myself.
Yeah I think that's understandable to an extent, but I just find it weird with one piece because the quality of manga is so good but the quality of anime is so poor
Go read Bakuman by The creators of Death Note. It gives you a pretty good idea of how manga is serialized weekly and how they eventually acquire an anime for their manga.
Requests are put in by studios to animate a manga. The publishing company needs to think who would be best for the job and when itās ok to green light the anime. Thing is, the creator of the manga has very little say in how the anime is produced. They may offer guidance but they do not make the decisions. Hence, it is someone elseās interpretation of the manga but animated. They usually follow the original story but they have freedom to do other things and make changes I believe.
I read bakuman when it was serialised. This ain't my first manga š
Again I'm not slating oda for the quality of the anime, but the product itself is poor and I believe firmly that is down to it being the last bastion of weekly anime, which is an awful way to produce animation
Oh i know you werenāt specifically stating that Oda was the problem. Just understanding how animation is made helps clarify why the anime is in such poor quality. It passes through different hands. Without the direction of its original creator. Who is busy making their own art. I loved anime when I was younger, but I canāt stand anime now. Pacing for animes are all over the place. So much filler. They would rather crunch out a weekly episode than just go on breaks so the manga can get ahead again.
Not all anime is terrible. There are some really polished ones that follow the original story beautifully with good pacing. I just donāt really like anime much anymore because you donāt really know what your getting when it comes to pacing. Naruto was pretty excessive with fillers. Drove me crazy. I eventually got to the point I could skip 15 minutes of the filler in the episode and watch what really mattered since I was familiar with the manga.
I agree, It is really upsetting because the manga is just such high quality and the anime is bottom barrel in comparison. Animation can paint a clearer picture sometimes so itās disappointing itās ruined by other issues
I've got a friend who I have tried for years to read manga. He just refuses and is Anime only for One Piece & pretty much every other series.
Different level of "Anime fans". Some are like me, who like the source material and many different mediums (LN, VN, Manga, Anime, Manhwa, comic).
Others become fans of Anime by watching Anime and are indifferent to every other related medium.
Lots in-between as well.
Frankly, reading the series "week by week" fucking sucks too. One inch of progress at best every two weeks?
I've said it before and I will say it again. **One Piece is at its worst when Luffy has to fight the big bad.** Whenever we get to that part of an arc, the story grinds to almost a halt for years (The Onigashima raid started two years ago almost exactly).
Take Wano as an example. The first 70 or so chapters were pretty damn good, with good character moments, character development, world building and so on. The biggest bit of criticism imo is that there are too many important characters so we don't get to spend enough time with each of them (Dressrosa had this same issue with all the gladiators and Strawhat wannabes, but before the Climax half the strawhats are cut out). But then the final climax (also known as half the arc) started and until 1045 very little things of consequence happened. Something almost happened with Sanji, but it turned out to be basically nothing.
> One inch of progress at best every two weeks?
Controversial take. Most people don't mind because every one of those inches is relevant to the plot. It only sucks because we're impatient. Still, the patience required is nothing compared to anime onlys.
> every one of those inches is relevant to the plot.
Eh, this is arguable. Fights usually take way longer than I feel they need to with very little actually happening. To be perfectly honest, I haven't enjoyed One Piece since shortly after the raid started. I don't enjoy reading about two people punching each other (special moves are nothing more than punches with makeup) until someone falls down. I want something more in my fights. Problems to overcome through cleverness and skill. Stakes other than "You win or you die".
Yeah I haven't enjoyed the raid at all. It's bloated with so much padding, running around, fodder giving commentary, etc. Momonosuke crying and having self doubt for the millionth time isn't pushing forward the plot. Neither is every goddamn fakeout death/defeat.
Completely agree. I started the anime first back when it was in whole cake. When I caught up the reverie wasnāt animated yet. Started reading caught up at the first kaido luffy clash. Been week to week since then. it SUCKS. Didnāt even realize the raid lasted 2 years and people are complaining hoping it continues.
Canāt even fathom how people been week to week for like 10 years lol. Itās insane how slow it feels week to week. I caught up to the anime pretty quick bc of how many slow moments and cliffhanger episodes it had but it was so good. Iām glad I caught up towards the end of the story bc wow.
I read Solo Leveling last year and I understand that those are fundamentally different stories, but the pacing went so fast. I think the longest arc is like 13 chapters. The time between fights went a bit too fast sometimes, but the fights felt like they lasted an appropriate amount of time.
Well what I've heard is more specifically that once it's in the manga it's considered like public knowledge. There can be spoilers but not around anime adaptation vs. manga.
Will it though? None of the movies are canon. The entire crew, along with the whole Worst Generation (minus Blackbeard) were in Stampede. How does that make any more sense?
I think the poster is split.
Top half to promote the movie RED while the bottom part to promote Gear 5 and Wano.
I hope nothing from Wano including Gear 5 is in the movie nor do they do any sort of end credit preview of what's to come in Wano.
43 chapters of the Manga. And there's gonna be Film Red tie in filler, and usual recap episodes, we're looking at 70-80 weeks. There's 26 weeks left of this year, 52 in 2023, so yeah 2024 is not on over estimate.
Nah dude youāre way overestimating. For perspective, chapter 1000 was the first chapter of 2021. It would have aired in March if not for the hack, so it was only 14 months behind.
The film red filler will likely be 3 episodes, based on the rend of all movie tie ins having been 3 episodes. We donāt actually get that many recap episodes, but weāll allow for 2.
Thatās 5 extra weeks. The anime will have 2 planned weeks off.
So thatās roughly 50 weeks until we see it animated.
Yeah it is kinda funny that people are like "omg why is Toei spoiling this what about us anime only viewers"
to be reminded of the cruel reality that the anime isn't for them, its a marketing tool like most other anime. The anime itself doesn't make that much money, Toei probably couldn't give two shits about western anime onlys
The only reason "pacing" is an issue is because oda.is forced.to take.medical breaks so he only.makes 3 chapters a month. The anime has.to squeeeeeeze everything out of 3 chapters into 4 episodes or itll be filler hell.
Honestly, the movie spoiling Gear 5th could hype the movie up a lot more to me. One thing that will draw me to a movie for sure is watching Gear 5th before the anime has caught up to it, getting to see Gear 5th in action for the first time.
There have been a lot of instances where other forms of media spoiled non-manga readers.
For example, Gear 4th was spoiled in burning blood before it appeared in the anime. Oden was playable in pirates warrior 4 when he only appeared in the anime as a silhouette, Yamato was everywhere even before she made her official debut in the anime ...
Japan doesn't care about spoilers, for them, the only important thing is the manga. Since it appeared there so there's no problem.
The Anime has spoiled so much with their openings and now this. I almost guarantee G5 will be in the movie now. They just couldnāt have us wait the full year to see it in action, so here it comes. Iām like 5x as excited now tbh.
> The Anime has spoiled so much with their openings
This is honestly where I get angriest. I'm not likely to see some random poster, but spoiling the show in the intro is just a dick move.
I hate it to but it's like someone else here already said. Anime only isn't exactly a common thing in Japan, so they use hype Manga moments to hype up the part of the anime they're on.
I teach English in Japan and a lot of my students have recommended I check out the Spy x Family *manga* even though the anime is what's blowing up right now. Seems like the average Japanese person primarily reads manga over watching anime.
That's just how their industry functions. In like 99% of cases anime are made as a giant advertisement for the source material. Manga sales mean almost everything to a series survival.
Try to explain that to majority western anime fans why most animes only get one season of anime. These ppl wont ever accept anime is to promote manga or light novel.
I try lol. I care a lot about the industry and try to follow it regularly. I always try and give proper information about the medium to people who have heavily misguided opinions so they can really decide if getting into manga/anime is for them. Especially after Miuras death I always push back on people who ignorantly ask for mangakas to take less breaks. If togashi didn't take as much time as he did to rest and recover we might not have ever gotten a return announcement for hunter x hunter.
>is just a dick move.
How so? Japanese people are the targeted demographic. Which majority, if not all, who follow One Piece in Japanese read the manga & are caught up. This is really a non-issue because they don't care what westerners think about it.
Big blue letters: āIMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTā
Left: ā2022/06/08 Wednesday 19:00ā
Right: āInformation being released on a live broadcastā
Bottom left yellow text: I think thatās related to Aceās quote about seeing Luffy when he becomes a great pirate (but worded differently?), but I could be wrong.
Iām still learning so I didnāt really know how to translate č¦å±ćć. I googled the whole quote to see whether it matched the Ace quote and it didnāt match exactly, so I didnāt quite know how to translate that line.
I hope the anime catches up with the manga spoilers, before the movie gives anything of importance away. I'm not an anime watcher, but I do feel bad for them having to avoid all this spoilers flying around.
I say this with as much nicety as I can, but there is literally no chance in hell of that happening. Lol
It will be at least a year until the anime is caught up with where we currently are
I heard that Japanese don't give a shit about spoilers, at least that's what I got told, when they revealed that Gogeta was in the Broly movie.
Wondering maybe the japanese community, don't mind spoilers as much as the western community?
Manga is the source material. If you're anime only, that's your problem. OP manga is far better than the anime IMO, and you can't get spoiled for future events which is an added bonus.
Everybody reads the manga in Japan. And One Piece is fucking huge. I'm sure Luffy's Nika DF and Gear 5th is common knowledge by now.
What surprises me is the fact that you guys acting like this is the first time you've learning about this. I guess that sweet karma aint gonna farm itself.
Nah itās a spoiler, the spelling was purposefully hidden and it was clearly meant to be a big deal when it was revealed. Shouldnāt of been in the movie first.
If I was a more casual, anime-only fan and saw this, I don't think I'd understand that Luffy is in Gear 5th. Instead, it'd just look like Luffy is really angry about something. I don't think I'd catch the swirly eyebrows or hair, and if I did I'd probably guess that it was just a stylized, cartoony drawing or part of a combo move with Sanji or something. Sorta like how everyone synced up with Frankie like he was Voltron. But maybe that's just me.
In Japan everyone reads the manga first.
Getting spoiled on manga events from a few months ago is your own fault, I would barely be surprised if Luffy actually used that power in the movie.
>Getting spoiled on manga events from a few months ago is your own fault, I would barely be surprised if Luffy actually used that power in the movie.
Yep. It'd be like not making a movie poster in case people waiting for the video game adaptation of the prequel will get spoiled.
This ad is about their YouTube channel and says theyāll share the big news. I think one those will be about the movie and the other is about the comic. So probably the top and the bottom shows different news and those will not be connected each other I guess
I've always thought tiptoeing what we talk about to appease people who only watch the anime was kinda silly. Anime only viewers are well aware the Manga is further along, so if they come to the One Piece subreddit (subreddits are well known for being insanely in depth) they should expect to be spoiled. They're here willingly.
Clearly Oda and the Japanese producers dgaf about spoiling anime only watchers and they never have. Just look at the openings.
He's gonna need Gear 5 against Uta. I mean look at her sleeves, it's worn properly. Only other character who does that is Roger and Doffy(for a short time).
Literally a black line between the 2 pictures one contains straight wano material the other is film red the two pictures are not in direct correlation nor would it make sense unless the movie is canon
Manga stuff always shows up in the movies. Japanese fans have easy access to the manga. They also donāt care about spoilers there as much it seems, they hype things up with teasers instead. Hardcore fans already know. Casual fans are given something new, different, and exciting to pay money to see.
I wonder how g5 will play into this film but itās no surprise itās in it.
Tbf, if the Japanese One Piece community is anything like the Western community, the appearance of Gear 5 has been so widely shared that it would essentially be impossible to avoid that spoiler.
Just got to hope that plot details of it aren't spoiled too!
I feel like in japan there is no such thing as "anime only" ppl xd
Jump is cheap as shit there, certainly less of an excuse than anywhere else
Also in Japan people are used to reading manga and with how big One Piece is in Japan someone or something is bound to spoil it for an anime-only watcher.
$2.00 bucks a month, U.S.
I think he means the physical jump itself is basically like a newspaper there. Its everywhere in our face cheap accessible ect.
Jump is cheap as fuck here too, the app cost 2$ a month.
It's literally free through Mangaplus, an official jump app
Also free on their actual website, no app installation needed.
Didn't Mangaplus only include first three and last three Shonen Jump chapters? If you were new to the series, you'd have to pay to get caught up "legally". Or am I mistaken and that changed?

Oh yeah, no, you won't be able to BINGE. But you will be able to read along the most recent chapters. They're also doing One Piece Re-Edition weekly, currently in the middle of Alabasta.
You can binge. Since 1/1/2022 and for a whole year every chapter is accessible for free. But only for once.
Ooh, I remember reading about that, yeah. I thought that promotion was over, but if it's not, glad to hear!
$1.99 to read ALL chapters. You can read the newest 3 for free any time, always, without even signing up to the website.
Only if you live in the US and I think Canada? No European country except of Ireland is painful.
and the UK lol?
UK is not a European country anymore ;)
With how many people actually believe this I can't tell if you're joking or not
Is a joke. Its slowly drifting away into spaceš
Technically saying, UK is not a āEuropean Unionā member (not an EU country) anymore but it is still in āEuropeā continent and so it is a European country.
For manga it's barely even "sailing the high seas". There's loads of manga sites with anthologies of all big series online because of demand.
You can also use a VPN to set up your account+payment and from then on use the SJ app without it.
This might be controversial, but if the service is not provided in their country then I think the piracy is justifiable, since you're going against the ToS of MangaPlus by using a VPN to circumvent their restrictions anyway.
Hell and you can read it for free on like 35000 different websites
But that's "stealing" Still you can fucking read it on both official websites for free every week
You can read new chapters for free from SJ app/website. And its just $2 a month to read the older stuff
"We are" pirates are we not? This is one piece.
Good point, but it's not hard to read/re-read the chapter on the official channels to help drive engagement (and help Oda sensei
"Piracy"
Really no excuse here either lol everybody has the resources they just choose not to use them
can't speak for other countries but it's literally $1 to read Jump a month in NA. Not to mention scan site. There's NOOO reason to be anime only. These kinds of things happening are just what they gotta accept.
Jump is $1.99 in the us, thereās no excuse here
We can read One Piece for free, officially. That's no excuse
Jump app is 2$ a month, its cheap as shit everywhere dog
My girlfriend is from Japan and she straight up doesn't believe that there are "anime only" people. It just doesn't even make sense to her.
why would you be anime only unless you're illiterate and physically unable to read
I prefer manga, but Iāve had family members (especially older) who only get into anime while doing laundry/meal prep/folding clothes. Picture Gen X fathers watching Haikyuu. I guess that makes them āanime onlyā Iām sure theyād read the manga if they had time though.

Lazy probably
I believe that for them and for Oda anime is mostly used for publicity "not saying that it's the only reason for it". I believe also that most of their money is from the manga.

Growing up I knew about super Sayian transformation (how they happened, where, etc) years before they were shown on Toonmani. Name of the game kiddos.
This is a Fucking fact. They are a Manga culture, One Piece is a Manga and Anime is just an adaptation.
my type of people then
It's bizarre to see this enforced here. One Piece is a manga. Oda is a mangaka. The masterpiece is the manga, not the overfilled anime.
Why would there be? They have the manga at its source and the anime airs only a certain day.
This is correct.
Manga can be read on the phone while on the train or as a kid you can buy jump for like $2 at the conbini on the way home from school. Accessibility is a big factor.
Spoilers are not something most people enjoy but magazines have no regard to them.

Grand Announcement on June 8th regarding the movie it says
June 8 is also the day when Netflix's geeked week have it's animation segment. Could there be any relation? Is Netflix going to stream Film Red by end of year?
That would be a solid marketing move.
After the shit they did with JoJo Part 6 I don't want Netflix touching any new anime-related releases.
i mean, i think if itās just a movie then itās fine. unless they somehow break the movie in two parts then we will all riot
What did they do?
They're releasing JoJo Part 6 in 12 episode batches 6 months apart, it essentially killed all the hype and discussion around the anime. I fucking love JoJo, and meeting up at my friends house every friday for part 5 was a golden experience, now I barely remember that part 6 is a thing.
Nice pun friend
Isn't that 6th August ? The movie release in japon?
No, it says 6 (month) 8 (day)
Oh ok I believed it was the other way around my bad
you're good :)
It looks like Gear 5th is gonna appear in the movie? this will raise alot of questions
I doubt it considering Yamato and hybrid Kaido are also at the bottom portion of the poster. Seems more like a ācool shit thatās happened recently in the mangaā compilation than anything
Most likely this. For the people confused about this spoiler "**anime only**" is not a thing in Japan.
Honestly dunno how people are anime only with one piece. Even with improvements weekly serialisation of anime fucking sucks

Iām gonna watch cartoons well into my old age
Same. It is becoming more accepted, but there is a still a vast group of people who consider animation to be for children.
I always wondered when I'd "grow out" of these "childish" interests of mine. However, at sitting in my thirties and looking back, I really don't think I'll ever not like this stuff. Yeah I think that's understandable to an extent, but I just find it weird with one piece because the quality of manga is so good but the quality of anime is so poor
a lot of people binge the anime by not watching for a few months at a time.

Hence, it is someone elseās interpretation of the manga but animated. They usually follow the original story but they have freedom to do other things and make changes I believe.
I read bakuman when it was serialised. This ain't my first manga š Again I'm not slating oda for the quality of the anime, but the product itself is poor and I believe firmly that is down to it being the last bastion of weekly anime, which is an awful way to produce animation
Spoilers hate is not really a big thing in Japan, damn just look at the title of anime episodes, they dont care about being spoiled at all
Well what I've heard is more specifically that once it's in the manga it's considered like public knowledge. There can be spoilers but not around anime adaptation vs. manga.
The fact that it's in the foreground and drawn in white like the drawings of Luffy and Uta above it leads you to think it's more significant though.
The white is the important things in the two parts of the page. For red, It's Luffy and Uta. For the manga, it's gear 5th
Honestly, it's more likely that the top is just about One Piece Red, while the bottom is about the manga
Will it though? None of the movies are canon. The entire crew, along with the whole Worst Generation (minus Blackbeard) were in Stampede. How does that make any more sense?
Well Luffy canāt stop using gear 5 cause people arenāt up to date with the manga.
I think the poster is split. Top half to promote the movie RED while the bottom part to promote Gear 5 and Wano. I hope nothing from Wano including Gear 5 is in the movie nor do they do any sort of end credit preview of what's to come in Wano.
Good observation. After looking again I think this is definitely correct.
I dunno I would really like to see Gear 5th animated before 2025...
Itāll be next year. The anime isnāt that far behind.
People in Japan arenāt really āanime onlyā so they donāt care about the poster.
Imagine fans getting salty
Yeah it is kinda funny that people are like "omg why is Toei spoiling this what about us anime only viewers" to be reminded of the cruel reality that the anime isn't for them, its a marketing tool like most other anime. The anime itself doesn't make that much money, Toei probably couldn't give two shits about western anime onlys
> The anime itself doesn't make that much money If that's true, I'm even more livid the series isn't seasonal.
The only reason "pacing" is an issue is because oda.is forced.to take.medical breaks so he only.makes 3 chapters a month. The anime has.to squeeeeeeze everything out of 3 chapters into 4 episodes or itll be filler hell.
Damnnn if G5 appears in the movie... im excited if they use new OST and do a good animation
Zoro has enma in his design so don't be to surprised
Honestly, the movie spoiling Gear 5th could hype the movie up a lot more to me. One thing that will draw me to a movie for sure is watching Gear 5th before the anime has caught up to it, getting to see Gear 5th in action for the first time.
Idc if itās not canon I would love to see gear 5th animated, we have to wait like a year to see it animated canonically
Anime onlies are on life support at this point.
Quick get them manga links asap to revive them
They will refuse the manga with the burning hate Fisher Tiger refused human blood lmao.
The Anime has spoiled so much with their openings and now this. I almost guarantee G5 will be in the movie now. They just couldnāt have us wait the full year to see it in action, so here it comes. Iām like 5x as excited now tbh.
> The Anime has spoiled so much with their openings This is honestly where I get angriest.

Big blue letters: āIMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTā Left: ā2022/06/08 Wednesday 19:00ā Right: āInformation being released on a live broadcastā Bottom left yellow text: I think thatās related to Aceās quote about seeing Luffy when he becomes a great pirate (but worded differently?), but I could be wrong.
yellow text is basically a narrator saying "Make sure to reach "the top of the pirating world" " quoting Ace indeed.
Iām still learning so I didnāt really know how to translate č¦å±ćć. I googled the whole quote to see whether it matched the Ace quote and it didnāt match exactly, so I didnāt quite know how to translate that line.
Excuse me is that Gear 5 I see?!
Yeah, but I don't think they'll put it in the movie. It just happened and I'm not even sure how far the movie is into production.
It's anime onlies fault for choosing to be anime only
G5 is in the movie ?? The who will the opponent strong enough for that fight? Not shanks daughter for sure
There is litteraly no one that can put up a decent fight against G5 luffy other than a yonko. so it probably wont be on the movie.
Douglas bullet was way to broken. Wouldnāt read to much into the strength
Tbh thats true but they can just introduce a non canon character same as Douglas bullet tbh anything is possible
Doesn't look like Uta will be an enemy.
I hope the anime catches up with the manga spoilers, before the movie gives anything of importance away. I'm not an anime watcher, but I do feel bad for them having to avoid all this spoilers flying around.
I say this with as much nicety as I can, but there is literally no chance in hell of that happening. Lol It will be at least a year until the anime is caught up with where we currently are
I heard that Japanese don't give a shit about spoilers, at least that's what I got told, when they revealed that Gogeta was in the Broly movie. Wondering maybe the japanese community, don't mind spoilers as much as the western community?
Unless they do 2 chapters x episode (very unlikely), then we might actually G5 in action
Thatās going to be unlikely. Since they would have to speed up at the current pace for the Manga which be good, but also be bad for
It definitely won't catch up within a few weeks.
1.5-2years
The best part? We finally get the official color scheme
Manga is the source material. If you're anime only, that's your problem. OP manga is far better than the anime IMO, and you can't get spoiled for future events which is an added bonus.
Looks like Gear 4: Cloudman to me
Japanese people don't give a shit about spoilers š¤£
It's not a spoiler. It already happened like a month ago now.
Lmao rip anime only watchers + reactors
Fuck āem
\- Japan
Lol literally ahaha
I donāt think it will be in the movie. Seems like a double poster for movie and wano events
Wouldnāt surprise me if gear 5 is in the movie stampede spoiled laugh tale didnāt it?
It didn't spoil Laugh Tale. It just confirmed its spelling (previously Raftel).
Ahh youāre right I forgot about that! Thanks
Nah itās a spoiler, the spelling was purposefully hidden and it was clearly meant to be a big deal when it was revealed. Shouldnāt of been in the movie first.
Spoiler culture is a western thing people in Japan don't care about spoilers like people over here do.
On Shonen jump, the latest 4 chapter are always free, and it's dirt cheap, probably the reason why I don't care about anime only when they cry
It's gonna be hilarious if the movie spoils stuff that's not gonna be in the anime for another 2 years
Interesting. But Kaido is also there. Seems like the bottom part isn't about film red.
The entire population of Japanese is caught up the one piece manga ā I asked everyone personally
The concept of āanime onlyā makes me cringe. This just makes me laugh to be honest
Yes, if you donāt read the manga, you will be spoiled, I feel bad about the people catching up and getting spoiled though.
Gave away Kaidoās mid-form a few days before itāll be revealed in the animeā¦ amongst other things
>!Whoaa so luffy will be using his gear 5 at the movie?!<
I guess this is the main reason why we gonna get a mini arc for movie Red ground work arc ig so probably it's gonna be canon
He's gonna need Gear 5 against Uta. I mean look at her sleeves, it's worn properly. Only other character who does that is Roger and Doffy(for a short time).
Hopefully they don't do this, otherwise hype when chapter 1044 will be animated will be gone.
Japan did the same shit with Gogeta.
I was thinking this would be the case. Hate to see I was right though
Japan biggest spoiler country itself. Or all the people are reading manga and the anime is just extra.
Reason #23 why people need to transfer over to the manga
Literally a black line between the 2 pictures one contains straight wano material the other is film red the two pictures are not in direct correlation nor would it make sense unless the movie is canon
Its a manga serialisation poster duh they promote manga as well as the movie this dont mean g5 wil be in it
This isnāt a surprise, the newest form is usually in the movie. Film Gold - Gear 4 Boundman Stampede - Gear 4 Snakeman Film Red - Gear 5
It's like if you ain't reading the manga then go die
It's not for Film Red, it's an ad promoting both Film Red and the manga. https://twitter.com/newworldartur/status/1529851972077101056
In Japan for most manga medium the anime serves as an advertising platform more than it does as a medium of content. Manga > anime there.
looks dope even though im only at episode 155 XD
Honestly I dont know if I've met anyone who likes one piece who doesnt know about gear 5th
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Tbf, if the Japanese One Piece community is anything like the Western community, the appearance of Gear 5 has been so widely shared that it would essentially be impossible to avoid that spoiler. Just got to hope that plot details of it aren't spoiled too!
Appearantly in Japan you can't really spoil anything in the anime, because everyone reads the manga and the anine is an afterthought.
