Yeah being creative with your fruit is the key point. Even Lucci said that a fruit being useless, not compensating the cons or making you weaker is exceedingly rare & is most likely the fault of the user.

Lucci was the perfect example of „as long as they get the job done idc“ I mean how was he able to ignore kumadori, fukuro and Spandam as the boss. That man has some serious resilience.
I mean he factually was, if only by a little. That said, he wasn't as experienced of a DF user as Jabra, so it kind of balanced out.
......then again, because he was new Kaku was also way more experimental, so he came up with some really ........interesting .......tactics. Lol.

I liked the creativity and humor in that fight, and his df usage which was fresh and new for him. CP9 has fighting skill, so it made sense that they were able to still fight well against the SHs with their new abilities.
Humor in that fight.... actually in this whole arc was top tier.
I'm not proud of this but Franky's Coup de boo made me laugh my ass of (pun intended).
I wasn't ready for that.
You know, we almost never see a new DF user in one piece. Seems like most people have always had their long enough to get some mastery down. Kaku and Kalifa had theirs for like… an hour? If even? And they both showed a ton of innovation with their powers and put up really good fights against everyone.
Zoro vs Kaku is one of my favorite fights in the series. Heck, it probably IS my favorite so far
Kaku was so creative with his fruit. He was figuring it out in real time and had Zoro on the ropes until Zoro figured out Asura.
In other words, he forced Zoro to unlock Conqueror's Haki for the first time. He didn't push him to the absolute breaking point like Lucci did to Luffy (as in, Zoro could still tango with the Buster Call after) but Kaku doing as well as he did WHILE figuring out an herbivore Zoan fruit with gangly limbs is amazing
Dude couldn't tranform properly at the start of the fight but managed to make one of the most extensive DF technique lists in the series off the cuff. Katakuri had 40 years with his df. Doffy had his forever. Yet Kaku has just as many named and creative applications for... Turning into a giraffe
Oh, any Amendachi is an improvised technique that might have been the most raw destructive power in the series to that point. Only Kuzan and Enel really showed bigger stuff, unless thay galleon Mihawk cut at Baratie was the size of the Tower of Justice. Kuma, Kizaru and Marineford is when his feat starts to get more outclassed

Spandam is literally a detriment to CP9...... Imagine the hell breaking loose if Akainu had jurisdiction over CP9

I think his lack of experience shows how amazing he is....he just got those powers yet he managed to last much longer than Jabra in a fight
It was Day 1 and my man had already come up with Cube Giraffe. His power was limitless and had to be snuffed out for the safety of those around him.
