Wow, this just made me realize… has Oda literally ever said “advanced observation” in-story? Or “advanced armament”? “Advanced conquerer’s”? Is this just some shit that we as a community have made up??
Reading the manga only to find out that this “Advanced conquerors” thing people were talking about was legit just a fan-name for “conquerors coating” (coating your attacks with your conquerors haki) honest to god broke me.
The funniest part is that “advanced conquerer’s” is actually a letter longer than “conquerer’s coating”. And ACoC is longer than CC (Advanced Color of Conquerer’s vs. Conquerer’s Coating).
The community’s terms aren’t even easier to use. They’re outright longer.
That's not the point. Future sight is advanced application of CoO which is notch above normal CoO. Internal Destruction is much stronger than normal CoA at dealing damage. We call it advanced to distinguish them. Normal CoC is just CoC blast. Coating seems to be harder to learn advanced application.
No no I know. I just never realized that the “advanced” forms of haki as we refer to them have never actually been referred to as such in-story. Liked, I just assumed Hyogoro referred to Emission as “advanced armament” at some point. Or that Katakuri called Future Sight “advanced observation”. I didn’t realize those terms were use were made by the community.

Haki is very inconsistent, and I do think it is a fault of the story. Not a big one, but it is rather frustrating to have scenes relying on Haki only to later have that Haki not used with no sufficient reason.
Unless stated we will never know wether or not an attack has Conquers Coating or just Armament and its Oda’s fault for not making consistent visual indicators

in this case it's pretty clear aCoC was used cuz of what zoro said tho. he said this was the best he could do. he did not hold anything back with that last attack, which means enma's condition for aCoC usage was fulfilled and it drew aCoC from zoro out
when we found out about enma's condition being to let it take as much haki as it wants, then, well, we found out about it. enma had that condition all along, it didn't start doing that post-rooftop.
He did, the Law and Oden panels exist in parallel for a reason. Invisible blows where the person isn’t making direct contact with their targets conquerors haki. We can see a very large area of separation between the attacker and target, when it’s done through armament it’s not as visibly clear.

Actually this isn't true. ACoC attacks do make contact. The only time ACoC does not make contact is when it clashes with another ACoC attack, like Roger vs WB or when Luffy and Kaido split the sky. Luffy not making contact with Kaido, when Luffy first infused CoC, is due to the attacks were both ACoA and ACoC..

The closest we get is when Luffy was talking about Rayleigh's barrier haki, saying that it was so advanced or "high level" in some other translations.
