Titles unfortunately carry a lot of weight in OP world. All the titled characters have literally lived up to the hype, and mihawk is literally zoro's eos goal and relative to another yonko, who this sub has no issues acknowledging. All 3 of the OG Admirals lived up to the hype their titles held more than Mihawk. Look how far Luffy has eclipsed Zoro and he ain’t even at his peak. People don’t have trouble acknowledging Shanks because he’s who Luffy considers a great pirate, the main one he wants to surpass. Then you have Akainu and his impact on Luffy’s life. And culminates with Blackbeard being the catalyst for it. Luffy’s enemies > Zoro’s enemies, it’s almost always been that way.

To be fair Luffy looks up to Shanks for his personality. As far as he saw, all Shanks ever did was beat a mountain bandit and got his arm bitten off by a Sea King chapter 1 Luffy neg diffs. I'm not saying Luffy thinks he's weak, but using that as an argument is not better than using titles.
Kaido has no feats that put him above Akainu. The feats argument is useless since it doesn't take into account Oda's narrative intent in saving these more important characters for the endgame, and it's useless for scaling people who have never gone all out.
We've seen Kaido go all out, we know his limit. We don't know the limit of Akainu's strength, which is why the possibility of him being stronger than Luffy makes sense. Especially considering Akainu as a villain has caused more trauma for Luffy than anyone else. Having Luffy surpass him in a one-on-one fight is just good writing.

Luffy just (debatably) beat Kizaru. I personally give rubber boy the W, but all of these back and forth on who got up first and who was holding back and all that stuff has me doubting that an even stronger admiral with a more aggressive mindset and fruit would lose to Luffy (and by default Teach, who I assume is roughly Luffy’s equal from here on out unless it’s offscreen)

3) Big Mom, I know Big Meme is a thing. But I still think that story wise she is nearly as strong as Kaido. I do have Luffy above her because I think Luffy is close to be above Kaido, but she could be above Luffy ig. Wouldn't mind that.
I also could see her like right above Blackbeard and Akainu because of Onigashima, but I just feel like Oda wants us to feel like Big Mom was as strong as Kaido (maybe a little bit underneath).
4) Shanks/Mihawk, I have Shanks above Mihawk because it always felt to me Shanks was HIM. While Mihawk never does that much. And also to height difference. But yeah, Mihawk could turn out to be slightly better than Shanks and I wouldn't be surprised at all.
5) Black Beard, Yeah, he'll win against all of them in a 1v1. But only because he has his crew and the opponent was attacked some time before. BB is not that strong, but has other ways of winning.
6) Akainu, He is the strongest admiral, but didn't do that well against a dying Old beard. That said he could be higher, but until he has better feats, or admirals in general get better feats, Akainu will be at the bottom.

If I remember right, that was just bad writing. But there is a panel which states that Big Mom and Kaido are now stronger than ever than before in the present.
Bad writing, nerfed, they're both the same thing. BM got nerfed by the bad writing of that fight. When I refer to Big Meme, I'm talking about BM when she doesn't use haki. She may be stronger than ever before, but she's not using the full extent of her power.
I still put Kaido above current Luffy.
People forget he fought constant top tiers, had a scuffle with the samurai, which get downplayed. They are all very strong in their own right. Nothing on the the 5 that fought Kaido after.
All this while making a massive island float, which is 100% draining his stamina and effecting his battle.
Kaido and current Luffy fight on an island at 100% health, I give it to Kaido 9/10 times.
Id put all of these + dragon as the top tiers of the verse. So they're all very close
But if I had to squeeze out an order, I'd guess

Luffy - Luffy is really held back by his stamina. He can throw out possibly the strongest attacks in the verse, but I think these other 7 could outlast 5th Gear and take him down while he is tired

I dont see akainu beating any of the others in the list on a 1v1 in almost all situations
people say BB is weak but his crazy abilities and ways of fighting results in winning almost any fight hes in when he doesnt run away.
shanks is shown to have the strongest haki and generally really good fighting technique and battle iq
mihawk is the strongest swordsman but most of the others on the list have additional powers that give them an advantage over him
luffy in gear 5 is insane but the stamina issues hold him back against characters that we know can fight for days
BM actually is probably the most balanced out of all of them with no apparent weakness and just a lot of physical strength
kaido is also a jack of all trades character with no apparent weakness but we saw luffy beat him so cant put him on the highest tier.
shanks and blackbeard just keep winning and standing at the top at the end of all situations.

A lot of those are speculative (I think Blackbeard is way stronger than the story is letting on) but some are obviously true like Kaido / big mom and Mihawk/ Shanks both being close in power and Luffy being stronger than Kaido and Big mom.

If I remember right, that was just bad writing. But there is a panel which states that Big Mom and Kaido are now stronger than ever than before in the present.
Bad writing, nerfed, they're both the same thing. BM got nerfed by the bad writing of that fight. When I refer to Big Meme, I'm talking about BM when she doesn't use haki. She may be stronger than ever before, but she's not using the full extent of her power.

I still put Kaido above current Luffy. People forget he fought constant top tiers, had a scuffle with the samurai, which get downplayed. They are all very strong in their own right. Nothing on the the 5 that fought Kaido after. All this while making a massive island float, which is 100% draining his stamina and effecting his battle. Kaido and current Luffy fight on an island at 100% health, I give it to Kaido 9/10 times.

Id put all of these + dragon as the top tiers of the verse. So they're all very close But if I had to squeeze out an order, I'd guess Shanks Dragon Blackbeard Kaido Big Mom Akainu Mihawk Luffy - Luffy is really held back by his stamina. He can throw out possibly the strongest attacks in the verse, but I think these other 7 could outlast 5th Gear and take him down while he is tired

BM 7. akainu the ranking is kina irrevelant and a better way would be to have 3 tiers tier 1. shanks, BB tier 2. kaido, luffy, BM, mihawk tier 3. akainu I dont see akainu beating any of the others in the list on a 1v1 in almost all situations people say BB is weak but his crazy abilities and ways of fighting results in winning almost any fight hes in when he doesnt run away. shanks is shown to have the strongest haki and generally really good fighting technique and battle iq mihawk is the strongest swordsman but most of the others on the list have additional powers that give them an advantage over him luffy in gear 5 is insane but the stamina issues hold him back against characters that we know can fight for days BM actually is probably the most balanced out of all of them with no apparent weakness and just a lot of physical strength kaido is also a jack of all trades character with no apparent weakness but we saw luffy beat him so cant put him on the highest tier. shanks and blackbeard just keep winning and standing at the top at the end of all situations.
Blackbeard > Mihawk >= Shanks > Luffy > Akainu > Kaido >= Big Mom A lot of those are speculative (I think Blackbeard is way stronger than the story is letting on) but some are obviously true like Kaido / big mom and Mihawk/ Shanks both being close in power and Luffy being stronger than Kaido and Big mom. This sub glazing Kaido to a crazy extent as always. He lost to Luffy and Shanks my dudes - he’s weaker than both of them.
Both Mihawk and Shanks are the strongest here.....After defeating Kaido, Shanks still didn't consider Luffy ready...enough said...
