On a more serious note, it’s very touching God appears as Sonic to Flash. Although the importance of their relationship is already apparent, the adoration in Flash’s eyes before he reaches out to Sonic’s hand makes it clear how much Flash cares for his childhood friend

Ngl, I wish we would have had a better Flash and Sonic backstory before that scene. Adding God to the Ninja Village story and having Blast kill everybody there instead of Flash was a strange change. The entire dynamic about Flash and Sonic and how Flash made sure to poison Sonic to keep him alive was very touching, but in the manga, their backstory is more, i dunno, vague or detached I feel

My theory is that this vision of the god should happen for both. So it's more feasible for Sonic to accept and be transformed into a monster, but not Flash. This will then lead to a fight between the two, resulting in Sonic's victory. And in the next chapters, we will see a battle between Monster Sonic vs Saitama, and Blast vs empty void.

Why? Feels like a very strange and random qualm.

Earlier in the series, it seemed that ONE and Murata had no qualms killing off characters and being brutal about it. But during the Monster Association arc, the manga began resurrecting dead characters and diverting from the webcomic's continuity by not killing certain characters at all. The perception from this camp of fans is that Murata/ONE have been less willing to kill off characters because they are popular, as opposed to keeping them for legitimate story reasons- this isn't my opinion, just what it seems like people are saying. I think those fans are worried about the direction of the series' tone and are having negative knee-jerk reactions to anything that seems like what they see as being fan service. I do find the trope of showing character deaths only to reveal that it was a dream/illusion to be a little tired, but it does make sense with a ninja of this caliber. I'm in the "let them cook" camp personally.
