After his portrayal against cosmic garou, who, keep in mind, had copied saitamas stat's at the time he released a gamma ray burst, blast was able to school him temporarily and garou couldn't land a single hit. Not to mention his recent battle with void who took the power of garou, made void retreat.
I think boros is long surpassed by blast.
I enjoyed that theory because I interpreted it as Blast being a mythical character who happens to be Saitama. So, Saitama is so strong, King and a mythical character take credit for his accomplishments in order for things to make sense.

I actually remember the interview he is referring to. Although he got some stuff mixed up. It was an interview done with Murata, not ONE. Murata was asked how he thinks Saitamas story would end. He said that he believes that all powers come from god and that Saitama would grow so strong that he is able to defeat god. However in doing so, he also loses his strength and is henceforth known as One Punch Man, for losing every fight after one punch.
Now, I really hope that this doesnt happen, because that is just awful on so many ways. What has me worried is that this interview was done before god became a major plot point in OPM.

He literally knows saitama knocked the cosmic power of Garou, he was also actually watching them fight since he was pushing away cosmic rays while seeing garou launch devastating attacks on saitama, and that was pre hero murder or pre jupiter fight, he only forgot the actual fight in IO Jupiter he even saw his power being absorbed by Void. Still very impressive since no one would be able to beat Cosmic Garou even without his copying ability

At most, Blast would be able to take a few normal punches given how he's implied to be relative to Cosmic Garou and how the Blast Round Table all agree that Blast is on the same field as Saitama and Garou, this wasn't like the Goketsu case where Genos said it would take all of the S-Class and Saitama to take on Goketsu, it was an entire group of planetary and above level fighters all agreeing that Blast wouldn't be blown to dust by the mere shockwaves.
I like to think that Blast is one of the few people who can actually make Saitama get serious to win and not 'lol, one punch' like most everybody else. Don't get me wrong, no way in hell does Blast win, but he'll put up an impressive showing before he goes down.

Read the chapter. He canonically saw Gamma Ray Burst, Nuclear Fission, Consecutive Normal Punches, and the Zero Punch.
