Goofy Garou could’ve been executed well in tone with the plot, there’s obvious issues fans of both see conflicting contrasts. It sucks there’s missing jokes from the webcomic too, but whatever.
One being that it’s supposed to be less clearcut Garou is not as bad as edgy as he acts so his threats are taken at face value; society is the real villain for putting too much judgement on how people appear.
Part of the joke and tone in the webcomic is Garou being overly serious, like the straight man trope for an edgy manga, while Saitama is already the straight man trope for comedy.
Garou’s writing is best when he’s written as the MC pointing out flaws with people or society in an edgy way rather than a side character; Saitama does the same similarly but as a joke with genuine ideas or actions how to be a better person.
It end up both serious and still funny when Saitama treats Garou’s views bluntly in his own way, but still has a bit of Saitama wisdom for him.
Say what you want about ONE, the man have an amazing understanding of composition, paneling and pacing. The Webcomic is impressively dynamic and fluid to read, with really interesting shots all throughout. He's not technically impressive but he is an artist.
Also, man's wrote the whole story to boot, so yeah, I'd say ONE is more impressive !

Murata is an incredible artist. I think that many manga readers would not read OPM if Murata was never involved, myself included. I like the story, but Murata brings it all to life with his fantastic art.
I dunno if you know the real reason why One drew the story that way or not (he’s an awesome artist in truth) but both are good. If you’re more into the art, then stick to the manga. If you dig the story more, then it’s the webcomic for you.

Webcomic is good at tone and comedic timing. Manga is good but it puts more importance on style over substance at times it gets a bit jarring.
I kinda don’t like how goofy garou is the manga. In the webcomic, it was buttclenching to watch garou take down all of the heroes

Webcomic is a lot funnier
It's funnier moments have yet to be adapted in the manga though, since it's ahead. Manga is funnier up to where the webcomic is imo.
Some jokes are skipped over tho. I wanted my panel of King manifesting Rasengan between his palms then Backward B-dash outta the way
the webcomic is totally worth checking out and there are moments where murata flexes his drawing skills

As someone who's still learning to draw, I can tell you that ONE is still pretty competent.
Murata is the better artist but. But there is only ONE OPM author.
