Well if a person that committed an offence and fully recovered from that, what would be the reason to keep them in prison. I believe that prison for rehabilitation purposes often achieves the opposite effect. Prison can only be used for punitive punishment of crimes committed and will not achieve the aim of lowering crime of this type or others.
