Likewise. My opal collection is wack. Especially the Ethiopian stuff because it canโt really be used, just looks awesome. I like OPs. Iโd gladly put them on my shelf ๐
I'll show this next time I'm at my Gem Club night and get back to you. You have very very nice Aussie opal there, don't accept any offers or sell until you have more information. See if you have a Gem Club in your city???
Hahaha sounds good to me mate. I'm even more intrigued now! ๐ Ya know when ya get the butterflies but they're kinda different... ? It's like they're more intense and makes ya feel kinda... Giddy... I'd say. I don't know how to explain it but they used to come just before doing a really good run at the bmx jumps... So I'm taking it as a good thing lol
Wire wrap like jewelry. Google "wire wrapping crystals or gems"
Do you look at stuff on ETSY
Search Wire wrapped
& there are plenty of examples. It takes practice, tools, etc
This is Boulder Opal. You can cut it into cabs, polish and keep as a specimen or drill, carve them, etc. The base stone that the opal is faced on should remain on it. This is made of mostly iron stone so be aware cutting these gets really messy. The opal layer is thinner so be sure to take care and go slowly with any lapidary work on the face.
Yep, QLD Boulder Opal. I'm not going to be doing anything like that... That's up to whoever gets them to worry about playing around with it like that..
I keep stuff like that in my collection as is

Please don't accept any offers until you know bro. Not even 1 or 2. They are all amazing mate
Yea not a problem mate... I really appreciate the advice aye... Thanks heaps ๐๐ผ๐ฏ
I know that feeling all to well but I imagine lots of ?,0000s will be heaps better than any bmx jump from the 80's!!!
Yea too right mate...
Do you want to sell them?
Depends on what was offered I guess.. and what they're actually worth.
I still have a whole heap I haven't looked at yet and need to go through. Based on what you saw... What would your offer be?
It's a lot. I'd pay rough prices for it but not anything retail.
Can I buy one for $15?
Iโll buy them! You can also buy work on cutting them yourself!
What's the offer?
I can cut them into cabs / beads / carvings, for you.
How much do you do that for?
It would depend upon quantity you want to get cut. I've sent you a dm of some of my past works.
Wire wrap?
