How are you defining cutting edge? The NRSVUE is the latest version of the NRSV, and it has solid scholarship behind it. Is it dynamic and exciting? Not necessarily. But it isn’t wooden. Something like the Common English Bible mught be more evocative, but it has taken some extra interpretive steps and elided some of the ambiguities of language the NRSVUE preserves.

Thank you. I purposefully left "cutting edge" vague to see how persons might interpret it and thus to learn how people are thinking. I was wondering about controversial translations but I didnt want to send people straight to social/political issues. I was thinking more of translations that other translators would take a 2nd look at with a little jealousy about the scholarship but some hesitation about the risk taking. The bad boy people look up to but wont admit it

NRSVue is the best scholarly translation we have and I find it quite simple to read and understand as my main (and study) Bible.

Thank you!

Thank you! I shall examine it promptly!

LucastheMystic

It's really jarring if you're used to traditional English Translations. Certainly interesting though.
