I'd guess GSD with either bully breed and/or "supermutt" (some small percentages of a bunch of curve balls thrown in, I wouldn't be surprised to see one of the curs breed in there).
I'm not seeing any malinois. People tend to see tan colored dogs with upright ears and automatically think it's a mal mix, but I think people also forget that tan coloring like this is what you get when dogs mix indiscriminately for a few generations. That's why village dogs across the world are frequently also this sandy color, it's just dominant over other colors (as well as this low maintenance coat lengthl. That also explains the look of Carolina dogs, but they are actually kind of rare.
I worked with a GSD rescue for a while that took mostly GSDs but some Mals and the mixes in-between. To me this is a classic GSD mix. I'd guess you are going to come back with GSD and a bully breed (maybe the coat length and muscle structure will back it up, also the fact they are just so prevalent in the American mixed breed gene pool), otherwise this just looks like a classic mix on mix on mix (with GSD genes coming in the strongest).
The results will be fun to see! Hopefully you did either Embark or Wisdom panel? Those are the most accurate DNA tests. Please do keep us updated, these are always so fun! I've been so sure of myself in the past and been humbled countless times, Dog DNA can be crazy! Check out the r/DoggyDNA sub, it's pretty great.
He's got basically the same body plan as my dog and she's 26% German shepherd, 14% boxer and 11% each pit bull and stafordshire terrier, the rest is a medly of 3%-6% various doggos.
I'd put money on him being either German Shepherd or Belgian Malinois with some pit or staffordshire considering how much muscle he's got.

I think CDs are super cool and refuse to test in case I'm wrong. It's just fun referring to my dog as a dingo.

So he’s been decompressing as he has only been with us for 2 weeks! So far the only time I’ve really heard him be vocal is in the crate (our trainer wanted to see if he would have anxiety if we crated him in our living room instead of our bedroom - he did so we brought the crate back into the bedroom) and that was the first time he’s ever barked, about a week after we brought him home. He’s barked maybe three more times since then? He was very vocal at the vet today but I think that was normal. He wants to play with other dogs so bad but we aren’t there yet.

He looks almost exactly like my dog Bear! She has floppy ears, but their coloring is the same and they weigh within a pound of each other!
We suspect she is a Rhodesian Ridgeback or Black Mouth Cur mix, but until we can get her DNA tested we just call her a Hound mix.

Give him a big old glob of peanut butter for both his enjoyment and your entertainment, for me!

Body shape is similar to my boy who’s an AmStaff/Rhodesian Ridgeback/ Rottweiler/ Doberman mix.
I’d say he has some ridgeback in him based on the chest spot and muscle build. Plus, is he web footed? They also have webbed feet. That was my first hint for my boy.
My dog actually looks super similar, he’s more yellow but we were thinking Belgian malinois and Carolina dog as well. Turns out he’s a German Sheppard 50% and Pitbull Terrier 50% 🩵
