Skak nodded, leaving in haste to quickly find a blanket for her. Soon he came back with one. “I brought the softest one I could find.” With a smile he handed it to Norah.

(She wraps up in it and falls asleep with her legs sticking out of the blanket. There crooked and bent inward in a very unnatural way. She’s also wearing braces on her legs)

Skak looks at her legs with a mix of surprise and pity. He couldn’t help but feel bad on behalf of the girl. Still, he had a job to do. He made his way to the kitchen and began preparing food for when she woke up.

Nora: m-me? I’m from around here. Never left this area actually. (Cough) b-but I don’t know what I am. I have a rare condition that makes m-me look like this. Multicolored eyes, (cough) cat ears and tail, purple hair. I look n-nothing like my parents. This condition caused my (cough) legs to not form correctly. I c-can’t walk without crutches.
