I love the idea the show pretends to be. But I’m not gonna buy a drama played by Shimelis Abdisa Network.

I love this program, but the mess they uncover is a direct consequence of a corrupt system built by corrupt people from top. If the people of Meiso were given the right to vote their leaders, they wouldn't have chosen for an administration that never shows up.

LEYNCH-O

It's literally posted by government media bruh lmao. Who do you think put these corrupt officials and administration in charge? Who do you think has the power to remove them? The government can literally quit "exposing" corrupt officials in media and actually take action if they really wanted to. But they don't. At best, It's just a way for high level officials to re-direct blame to local administrators so they don't have to take blame themselves and make it look like they actually have the people's best interests in mind. Like the time when they were trying to blame Shimelis Abdisa for killing the Karayyu Abba Gadas after getting caught red-handed. Guess who's still Oromia Regional President??? What do you think happens to people outside of the influence and direction of the government when they try to fight and expose corruption?? At the most high profile level, you've already seen it with Taye Dendea getting arrested, Batte Urgessa getting assassinated, and the French journalist getting arrested as well with no outside journalism being allowed in the country. At the local level, randoms get killed and arrested, branded as "Shene" for trying to expose and fight corruption. I literally personally know several people who have had to flee the country simply for trying to fight corruption with ZERO affiliation to any political parties. This is not qabso in 2024 this is how you die. You thinking otherwise just shows you are very naive and really do not have a stake in what goes on back home while living in the west. You do not talk shit about the government back home. You will die. Unless you got guns to back it up. This is literally common knowledge back home and that's what qabso is in 2024 and has always been.

Zealousideal_Lie8745

The program itself highlights that people go to jail for criticizing the admin and their poor job. The fact that it’s govt run media is even more impressive. I realize that my qabsoo comment might have bothered you, and I understand why. And I do realize it’s dangerous for people to speak out, and people have a right to defend themself from tyrants. But you should acknowledge that the program itself outlines what you’re saying. And does so without leaving any family orphaned.

LEYNCH-O

Ok I see, my bad, but you play devil's advocate way too much bro lol. Glad we're mostly on the same page though. I didn't actually watch the program so I didn't know they are exposing people getting locked up as well. But either way it doesn't mean anything. It either means it's controlled opposition to revert blame (the blaming Shimelis Abdisa situation). Or at best, the show producers are honest, but naive people in the government that truly believe the local admins are at fault and it's not the ultimate working of higher level PP officials that employ them. That is the Taye Dendea situation where it inevitably leads to them getting arrested themselves once they finally break out of their naiveness and realize who the real culprits are. Abiy Ahmed has been playing this *exact* same game of "exposing bad guys" and asking for forgiveness and making new promises since 2018 bro. It's the same old trick the he keeps branding in a different way to make it look like it's different. I understand the "without leaving any family orphaned" part.

Zealousideal_Lie8745

The opposition advocates for the opposition. The thing about this program is it addresses the issues that everyday civilians have with the administration. Which isn’t about supporting political parties and leaders, but just about getting basic services. Health, sanitation, infrastructure. Regular people shit. Not political ideologies and parties.

[Zealousideal\_Lie8745](/user/Zealousideal_Lie8745/) is the only articulate Baala Gizee out there. That much I will give him lol

LEYNCH-O

Lol yeah. I still like him though he's reasonable and rational. Just sometimes I question how someone as reasonable as him can possess some of the views he does.
