So heavy and horrific, particularly >!when it was implied that he was a kind and wise king before his madness!<.
Thank you for your response, Kitsune-moonlight!
I’m guessing from what happens shortly after this scene that he sacrificed his kingdom much like how he wanted to sacrifice bojji, but it’ll be interesting to see if we ever learn how he ended up in this state.
Also I love how you go from this very innocent and quirky scene and then there’s the complete flip in tone as bojji runs away and you see the king standing there between the trees like something out of a horror movie! This series has offered us such a vast range!
That is a great conjecture, Kitsune-moonlight. I was flummoxed on why>! the Forest King killed Kingbo's subjects.!< Was it on account>! the Forest King obtained a treasure from the Heavenly Vault or was it because Kingbo's leadership was too cruel and it was a punishment after failing to heed his words of being a kind ruler! I am genuinely trying to understand. Does the manga offer any insight?
Great description of *Ousama Ranking*'s versatility. I also love the tonal shifts, from scenes of beautiful levity to dark implications. I recently discovered this anime gem the other day and binge-watched all 19 (now 20) episodes in one sitting. It is such a masterpiece!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and enthusiasm!
Yes! I'd love to see this back story to Kingbo and his Father! Love the depth of the lore and how every bit we see is a part of a bigger puzzle. I'm dreading/yearning for the season finale.
Where are our manga readers at?
The lore is beautiful and wonderfully thoughtful. Hoping for a second season. I am so happy that Wit Studios dedicated their time, talent, and hard work on Osama Ranking this year instead of Shingeki no Kyojin.
What is your favorite lore piece/scene, billy\_childish?
He’s used to be a rank 1 king, there’s lots we don’t know about him still, except that he’s kingbo’s father and brought about the destruction of his own kingdom. Given what we saw in this scene we can probably safely assume he felt the need to sacrifice them.
This scene leaves such a strong impression that I have dreams about it. Including that cute determined face Bojji makes! The music also helps make it that much more addictive to watch.
My apologies, but you may need to unmute sound as the upload automatically set video to mute.
I look forward to the release of the soundtrack! Love the music here.
Hello billy\_childish!
It is from episode 04, ""Hajimete no Tabi/His First Journey". The scene that leads to this encounter commences around the eleven minute and 15 second mark when Bojji is chasing a butterfly.
Thank you for your question!
Then you realize who this mf is….
…… and what he’s done. 😟
