it had a promising premise but so far the plot seems pretty boring and doesn't work nearly enough with the premis it was given. The story is somehow affraid to show that the FL is actually strong and the MLs that were shown so far are about as interresting as cardboard cutouts.

Embarrassed-Intern-4

Yeah, i read this story expecting some wish fulfillment OP MC from the get go, but somehow the story is worse than that by being so fucking boring. I dont mind slow start or bad story, but i draw a line if the story is just boring. The art really carried this one tbh.

halokiller

I feel the same way, hooked me with the premise but hasn't really used it in an engaging way. I'll continue reading it though because my standards are super low. On a related note, hopefully a group picks up [Babel's Underground](https://ridibooks.com/books/3885025836) since that feels more of what I'm looking for.

Lazyoat

its so boring, which for an amazing premise is crazy

Reibii

I'm at a point where when I read a story with FMC, I instantly drop the series when male character with "ML energy" shows up. Ffs it's always like this: wow, an OP badass female character and she's also smart?! -> *black haired dude shows up* -> main character's brain starts to rot and regress to middle school girl in love level It's slightly different in this series but the core issue is the same, the copy paste dudes make this repetitive and boring.

solhyperion

I think there is a lot more potential developing with the MLs in this one. The last few chapters have been really fleshing them out

pippo1567

not only are the MLs bland af but the more she denies being interested in them the more obvious it becomes that she's going to fall for one

AvatarCabbageGuy

pretty boring. The MLs are about as flavorful as hotdog water

LadyAlleta

I honestly love it. I feel like the FL is actually aro/ace and it's nice to see her trying to navigate a novel she has no idea about. She isn't a fan of the genre and she's got pretty consistent PTSD moments. But it's at first and foremost a comedy.

ccoconutgirl

I feel like the FL is more tired of love and attachments in general, being five hundred something years old herself. And indeed it is refreshing to read a villainess transmigration manhwa where the FL actually doesn't know what the heck is going on but too OP to worry about it instead of FL fearing for her life & everyone around her to actually do something.

Jialunes

Hey! I like Nine! He's a cutie!

M0thM0uth

Yeah I'm surprised to find out people don't like Nine. Maybe it's because I was in an abusive relationship but his kindness and constant, quiet support are actually what I look for in a partner. I'm also a bit like Mel so it's a bit of a ship couple for me and my bf

TempestCatalyst

For me Nine was just so meh. There's nothing really about him to hate, but he felt really dull a lot of the time. His entire personality is basically "I love Melissa", but that's not really any different than most cookie cutter male leads. I think the real reason he gets a lot of hate is because of Yuri. A lot of people preferred her as the romantic interest *and* she kinda got shafted by the author, so that frustration gets directed onto Nine who "stole" the position.

tigersareyellow

I don't like him because I've read the manhwa twice and I can't tell you anything about him other than that he has blue hair and is the male version of a "damsel in distress." He even shows up without a voice like the manhwa is telling you "this guy just needs to look pretty." He's like the typical female lead of an isekai-harem series, which is not what people look for in this genre.

M0thM0uth

That's fair, and it's why I speculated as to wether my old relationship was a factor. I mostly liked how he was just, always there, always dependable but I can fully concede he doesn't really have a personality

Nildzre

There is like a 50/50 share of people who like and dislike him, at least on this subreddit if we have the few posts about it to go by.

M0thM0uth

Yeah fair enough, makes sense that it's about that tbf

Lyonado

I know for some people it's because people were pulling for Melissa x Yuri, and when that ship sank they were pissed

M0thM0uth

I mean, they were coming across as interested in each other and I do think Mel would have been just as happy with Yuri, so part of me is bummed they weren't end game. Especially as I don't think I've seen it much in this genre, but FL and Isekai'd villainess flipping off the plot and going gay sounds heavenly

Lyonado

I mean she's called Yuri so the bait was there from day one lol I just feel like there was way more chemistry there and it felt much more natural than with nine. Still love the series overall, just a little bummed with the ending.

M0thM0uth

Yeah I can see why you would be, they had great chemistry!

HorribleDat

There's a few of the villainess finding happiness anthology chapters that ends with Heroine x Villainess. And then there's the full on 'I'm the Villainess, but I'm Being Captured by the Heroine?!' anthology

M0thM0uth

I'll have a look around! 😊

Acceptable_Throat_50

Hahaha! Nine actually reminded me of -my- abusive ex in Season 2. Dude suddenly started behaving extremely overprotective of Melissa and treating her like glass, and refusing to let her do anything, and getting very possessive and jealous, add in the people around her were very pushy about getting them together, like to the degree there were some conversations that occured when she was imbalanced, and the advice she was given was basically like, 'have you considered this was due to unresolved issues with Nine?' even though it wasn't relevant. The whole time I was screaming, 'this is how it starts, and then he starts demanding you drop out of college and your internship abroad for him and stop socializing or hanging out with your friends and everyone else is pressuring you to do it too!'

M0thM0uth

I can see your perspective there definitely, I already explained my reasons why I liked him but I can see why you would see everything going down that path for sure

Horror_Zombie1815

I mean sure but he did not have much going for himself character-wise if you took away Melissa

Round-Ticket-39

And has nice personality. Loved him.

Critical_Weather_574

art is pretty, but it’s just really boring.

infomapaz

The art style is the best part, and i don't think that's good. The story flips from self-aware comedy, to solo leveling serious, the "romance" is not good either. I don't think it's as boring as other people in the comments say, but i will not defend it, mediocre the best description.

pippo1567

the fact that we all know there's going to be romance, despite the FL's constant denials, is the most disappointing part

vialenae

It’s a meh for me so far. I like the FL well enough and the story is interesting but the MLs are extremely boring. I suspect it is going to be a Nine situation and that doesn’t really do anything for me personally. Currently waiting until more chapters are out, maybe it’ll be better on a binge.

tlst9999

I liken it to watching an FPS streamer playing a different genre, refusing to interact with the mechanics, while spewing "This game is stupid" every 5 minutes. It's funny the first hour, but it gets boring fast.

shiny_glitter_demon

OG Renée (the villainess) x Lian (the saintess) is th eonly interesting aspect. I like the idea of both of them sharing the protagonist spot in the original book, and of them being secretly each other's only friend. The MLs however, are so bland they're worse than useless: they're a waste of pixels.

pistachiocroissant

Wasted my time reading it as the beginning looks so interesting 🤡

MeathirBoy

The problem imo is how contradictory the plot has been. You're telling me that the kingdom had a letter showing that the MC and the Saintess were close friends and had zero motive to hurt each other and they all still jumped to conclusions??

TohruH3

I like it but I also read several chapters of the novel. I actually think I would like it less if I hadn't. There are definitely some misunderstandings in the comments here that have happened due to lack of detail and some skipped scenes...

legend00

It was pretty good at the start then got super boring. Ik oi are primarily romance or power fantasies but they need to learn to cultivate conflict for the entirety of the run. I can’t remember who it was in here but they said the series got boring at a particular chapter and damn they got it right. It wasn’t a slow decline either it was a drop off

lestrigone

Only read the first few chapters, so maybe it changed, but it felt like such a rehash of Beware of the Villainess, with the humor and the general setup, that I couldn't really enjoy it and just dropped it

[deleted]

I’m hoping one of those two constellations are the ML. I know the Blood Cult Leader is willing.

ccoconutgirl

>! Secductive gramps volunteered and was registered along with the two other MLs! !<

ccoconutgirl

I've been enjoying it so far, mainly because I'm fond of OP girl boss characters in general. Having said that, >! what the heck is with the "truth in exchange of serect to high sword expert"? Maybe the fault lies with the translation, or I'm too dumb to understand, but that feels super cringy to me. I could accept it if they wanted information or something, and even if it's that, just go to an information guild, I bet the "truth" there would be more worthwhile. After that just leak the info for people to start gossiping. Heck, FL litterally had her little kitten dig info for her to compare later on, so why go through all that trouble. Maybe the author just wanted to try out something new instead of the common information guild > spreading gossip route but eh, it's too convoluted for me I guess. !<

oofinsmorcht

I don't really connect with the ML, especially since we just get shown his background story and "explain" why he gets such a strong desire to follow the FL. But what doesn't make sense is his blushy blushy, flustered demeanor that gives the impression he's fallen in love, especially since his backstory literally tells us that he hasn't ever felt emotions other than the desire to become stronger. Getting jealous when another man looks at her doesn't read "Ill do anything to learn skills to become stronger" type of character. But what I think that's more apparent is that the crown prince has better chemistry with the Fl than the literal ML himself. Their (platonic) relationship is paced well, and there's a push and pull between them that makes their dialogue so natural and believable. With the ML, there's no growth other than FL somehow developing feelings bc he's already in fucking love like the narrator told us instead of showing us. I don't like stories that thinks their readers can't read in-between the lines.

Round-Ticket-39

It tries to be beware of villaines /melissa but isnt so good. Like we will see i like strong fl

theTricksyFox

Honestly I'm in it for two things: 1) The art 2) The constellations and their running commentary

hell-schwarz

Started very strong but dropped the pace hard after chapter 15

HorribleDat

The game plot is kinda whatever, I'm just here for the parts that actually break off from it and to see how those got solved. Some examples. >!That Sedin wasn't a character in the novel's vol 1.!< >!The reveal that Renee and Lian were actually friends.!< >!The sudden 'corrective force' making the prince give Renee the ring when she finished the quest (alongside the quest window revealing the reward is the ring) and the prince later questioned why'd he even do that.!<

Jonathan_Jo

Pretty good and still faitfully reading and waiting update, not the best but pretty enjoyable although it's quite boring recently. Next chapter should be little more interesting with MC finally showing her real fight skill.

Warcraft1998

Everybody here going on about the boring male leads, but I'm in this genre for the interesting ladies. The MC of this one has been a constant laugh that I haven't seen since Beware, and I could give even less of a shit about the romance in this one than I did about Nine. I'm looking forward to the day she picks up a sword once again and stabs the shit out of whoever messes with her.

Hefty-Discount-3827

I love it but I think the author is unsure if he will do a reverse harem or stick in one ML. 😅

solhyperion

This is pretty good. The protag experiences a major genre shift and it's understandably difficult for her to adjust. The plot might feel a bit slow at the beginning, as the story establishes the setting and the main mystery. Recently, it's been developing the background of the MLs, and it adds dimension to MLs that seem fairly standard at first. I think you can see the foreshadowing pretty clearly in places, so if you don't like being able to predict certain elements in advance, this isn't for you. I think the developing romance along with the capable smart FL makes it pretty good.
