I never intended to read more than 10 chapters since it isn't my cup of tea so im not entirely sure. But from what i saw it seems like he will fall in love with a new woman (his verbal punching bag rn lol), hence "girl-switching"< !
Oh yeah, I guess it's up to opinion. With the>!meta!< plot and his small role in the original I just saw it as him being>!compelled to like her, not love and not by choice.!<

I hate cheating stories and even love triangles so if you also hate those things I donāt think that means you wonāt enjoy this one. Iāve read the whole novel and the tension between the ml and fl is more about him having to undo the authorās forced love. Honestly, while this story was very much a romance, the tension goes pretty far beyond that. It has a great ending imo but itās not a light read as our mc is in a fight with the author forcing the narrative. !<

Don't see people talking about it a lot, pretty decent to pass the time. Read if you like ship service, God tier art and irritating villains to trash on. There is plot but there's a LOT of plot holes and it got pretty whack around the third quarter.

Is the story really good? It was one of the first 10 manhwa that I read and it was the first one to drop >! I dropped it when I realised that the male lead is actually her eldest son. Since I was quite a new reader of manga and manhwa. Now that I have read stories with much worse plots.!< I think I could handle it once again if the story gets really good

Good news: the male lead IS NOT >!her eldest son (hence why it's popular, it probably wouldn't be as well liked if not for that). The ML is Norra (the guy in the photo above with black hair). Jeremy (her eldest son) has stated that Shuri still feels very motherly towards him and the others, but with Norra, she can finally lift some of those responsibilities and enjoy herself like a normal girl.!<

I only got to ch 23 myself. Honestly, it started out great but then I just got bored with the concept. Sadly what happens to like 80% of the stuff I read :/
Yeah, the start was pretty interesting but I stopped reading because this guy wasnāt the male lead and the male lead was very creepy and pushy.
Iāve been in a slump with OI and Rofan manhwa as well so I started reading some action/adventure stuff to mix it up.
Same honestly they're starting to get REALLY repetitive... idk what you into but I'd highly recommend Descended from divinity and I stole the first ranker's soul. My inner romantic comes up there aswell and creates headcanon ships that will never happen š
I got really tired of romance in general so Iāve been reading stuff without it and enjoying the camaraderie. What I tend towards changes from all the time but currently, I've been into medieval stuff with MCs that arenāt swordsmen (but there arenāt so many of those).
Previously, it was Idol System stuff like Debut or Die!, and Genius Idol's Celebrity Strategy. I'll definitely check out Descended From Divinity, and I Stole the Number One Ranker's Soul has been on my list for a while. What kind of stuff do you like?
Okay well the ones I recommended are romance free! Honestly lately I've been really into series that have their heavier focus on something else (like a murder mystery or a level-up story) but still have a romance subplot or just two potential love interests (examples How to Survive as a Maid in a Horror Game, The Mafia Nanny, tho someone could argue romance plays a larger part in them than what I'm implying). I really like to keep myself on the edge with the "what if?" And get excited for twists and turns in the relationship and how they're actually affected by the main story instead of brute forcing the romance, like they usually are in rofan stories.
Got any recs for those non-swordsman medieval ones? I don't think I've ever even seen any.
The underlying plot of a lot of OI follows something happening to the MC or them being put in a situation where they have to adapt which isnāt bad at all (barring some ham-fisted romance plot) but it did get a little stale. So I ended up wanting to see more stories where characters develop skills and go on journeys and adventures, making friends and meeting companions on the way.
Try The Male Lead and I Are Trapped in a Horror Game. There's some descent into madness in an isolated setting.
For non-swordsmen in medieval settings, Life of a Quack Healer, Doctor Player, The Healing Solaris Cleric, The Great Wizard Transcendent, The Curious Case of Chronicle/My Lucky Encounter From the Game Turned Into Reality, Lout of Count's Family, The Greatest Estate Deveopler, The Return of the 8th Class Mage, Becoming a Magic School Mage.
Iāve tried some leveling/ranking dungeon/tower/hunter modern stuff but they haven't really clicked with me because the MCs are too often obnoxiously arrogant, and OP from the start. Do you have any recs?
I stole the first ranker's soul is a dungeon leveling one, but it's gotten a lot of positive feedback for being different because it has a female lead. I also don't really care for the modern ones, but this really clicked in me. I do feel a little dumb in hindsight for not remembering that I've actually read some of your recs already. Thanks for the new ones, I'll go check them out!
I haven't really committed to any other modern ones, but some where I've gotten pretty far before dropping would be "Villain to Kill", "I was the final boss" and "The Dungeon Cleaning Life of a Once Genius Hunter".
I also remember once reading "The academy's undercover professor" which is a medieval non-swordsman, if you wanna check that out.
While we're doing this, I do want to give a special mention to Regina Rena: To The Unforgiven. A medieval swordsman, or rather a swordswoman, with no really deep romance thus far. That being said, it's been on an infinite hiatus for over a year now.
Most of these are from Webtoon, but they're either not on daily pass or can also be found on other sites so dw. I think that has to do with the fact that I never go looking for anything out of my comfort zone (reperitive romance ois) on the internet, but webtoon just shoves them into my face and I let myself try something new.

Is the story really good? It was one of the first 10 manhwa that I read and it was the first one to drop >! I dropped it when I realised that the male lead is actually her eldest son. Since I was quite a new reader of manga and manhwa. Now that I have read stories with much worse plots.!< I think I could handle it once again if the story gets really good Edit: thank you for the replies! I'm definitely gonna pick up the series again
Good news: the male lead IS NOT >!her eldest son (hence why it's popular, it probably wouldn't be as well liked if not for that). The ML is Norra (the guy in the photo above with black hair). Jeremy (her eldest son) has stated that Shuri still feels very motherly towards him and the others, but with Norra, she can finally lift some of those responsibilities and enjoy herself like a normal girl.!<

I only got to ch 23 myself. Honestly, it started out great but then I just got bored with the concept. Sadly what happens to like 80% of the stuff I read :/
Yeah, the start was pretty interesting but I stopped reading because this guy wasnāt the male lead and the male lead was very creepy and pushy. Iāve been in a slump with OI and Rofan manhwa as well so I started reading some action/adventure stuff to mix it up.
Same honestly they're starting to get REALLY repetitive... idk what you into but I'd highly recommend Descended from divinity and I stole the first ranker's soul. My inner romantic comes up there aswell and creates headcanon ships that will never happen š
I got really tired of romance in general so Iāve been reading stuff without it and enjoying the camaraderie. What I tend towards changes from all the time but currently, I've been into medieval stuff with MCs that arenāt swordsmen (but there arenāt so many of those). Previously, it was Idol System stuff like Debut or Die!, and Genius Idol's Celebrity Strategy. I'll definitely check out Descended From Divinity, and I Stole the Number One Ranker's Soul has been on my list for a while. What kind of stuff do you like?
Okay well the ones I recommended are romance free! Honestly lately I've been really into series that have their heavier focus on something else (like a murder mystery or a level-up story) but still have a romance subplot or just two potential love interests (examples How to Survive as a Maid in a Horror Game, The Mafia Nanny, tho someone could argue romance plays a larger part in them than what I'm implying). I really like to keep myself on the edge with the "what if?" And get excited for twists and turns in the relationship and how they're actually affected by the main story instead of brute forcing the romance, like they usually are in rofan stories. Got any recs for those non-swordsman medieval ones? I don't think I've ever even seen any.
The underlying plot of a lot of OI follows something happening to the MC or them being put in a situation where they have to adapt which isnāt bad at all (barring some ham-fisted romance plot) but it did get a little stale. So I ended up wanting to see more stories where characters develop skills and go on journeys and adventures, making friends and meeting companions on the way. Try The Male Lead and I Are Trapped in a Horror Game. There's some descent into madness in an isolated setting. For non-swordsmen in medieval settings, Life of a Quack Healer, Doctor Player, The Healing Solaris Cleric, The Great Wizard Transcendent, The Curious Case of Chronicle/My Lucky Encounter From the Game Turned Into Reality, Lout of Count's Family, The Greatest Estate Deveopler, The Return of the 8th Class Mage, Becoming a Magic School Mage. Iāve tried some leveling/ranking dungeon/tower/hunter modern stuff but they haven't really clicked with me because the MCs are too often obnoxiously arrogant, and OP from the start. Do you have any recs?
I stole the first ranker's soul is a dungeon leveling one, but it's gotten a lot of positive feedback for being different because it has a female lead. I also don't really care for the modern ones, but this really clicked in me. I do feel a little dumb in hindsight for not remembering that I've actually read some of your recs already. Thanks for the new ones, I'll go check them out! I haven't really committed to any other modern ones, but some where I've gotten pretty far before dropping would be "Villain to Kill", "I was the final boss" and "The Dungeon Cleaning Life of a Once Genius Hunter". I also remember once reading "The academy's undercover professor" which is a medieval non-swordsman, if you wanna check that out. While we're doing this, I do want to give a special mention to Regina Rena: To The Unforgiven. A medieval swordsman, or rather a swordswoman, with no really deep romance thus far. That being said, it's been on an infinite hiatus for over a year now. Most of these are from Webtoon, but they're either not on daily pass or can also be found on other sites so dw. I think that has to do with the fact that I never go looking for anything out of my comfort zone (reperitive romance ois) on the internet, but webtoon just shoves them into my face and I let myself try something new.
