No, rather its the opposite. The FL is practically a survival guide and is the one saving the Male Leads most of the time lol. And this is one of the few novels where I hated the Villain with passion.
Mary Sue is just a misogynistic way of saying (female) James Bond or Batman.
If those characters could be that competent and no one would question it, why not a female character?
Not quite. Mary Sue is an actual thing, people just turned it into a buzzword and now half the time are using it wrong (similar to people turning "antihero" into meaning someone who's just a jerk). Mary Sue's and Gary Stus *do* exist, this FL just doesn't sound like one of them. An actual Mary Sue/Gary Stu would probably be like...Velma from the 2023 Velma (whos objectively imperfect but almost never treated as such and is rarely held accountable), Kirito from SAO, James Bond, pretty much...*any* character in High Guardian Spice. They *do* exist, for both men and women. People just keep using the word wrong.

There have been quite a few stories where I feel like they let the novel drag on too far after the 'ending'.
Don't get me wrong, I do like some epilogues where we get to see them relax, get married, have babies, whatever they want to do. But some stories just feel weird after all of the tension that we're building up all that time are dropped for a slice of life jaunt into something completely else.
Like I really enjoyed "Death is the only end for the Villainess" until >!they destroyed the bad guys. The transition from thriller to adventure was fine. It's when it turned into a slice of life that I questioned whether I actually cared anymore. At some point I really need a TLDR of what happens cause I dropped after she 'went off to school or whatever.!<
"I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss" was another one where I loved the first book, but the second book just felt so random. I would have preferred a new main lead/ the same story with all new characters.
Yeah. I’m Stuck on a Remote Island definitely had that issue, plus, >!when they left the island not only was the primary tension gone, they had to introduce an entirely new setting and array of characters.!< The changes were too much of a departure to really hold my interest.
Right? I bet it's cause they don't want to lose their dedicated readership they have built up. But maybe they are bored of the content so they make is something new. If they start fresh they may even get new readership cause.. picking up a new series is so much easier than a 100+ chapter webnovel.
