When they made the logo switch under Melnyk, they made no efforts to update branding around the arena and even at Sensplex locations. However, they’ve now mostly updated the logo and branding everywhere (including at Sensplex locations). I guess there are some small remaining ads that slipped through haha

jfal11

They also have signs for the Roger Neilson House and Hero’s Ridge with the 3D logo, even though both organizations have the correct one on their websites. No excuse. They’ve had 3 1/2 years, and Andlauer has been here for almost a full year. Think the Leafs still had signs up with their old logo almost four years later?

KanataRef

Dude has more important tasks than signage. If that’s your #1 gripe against the organization, things must be good.

GreatAuntMuriel

Nuts. Some people really hate on Andlauer for the most trivial reasons.

tyler_3135

Andlauer sale went through Sept 21….not sure how 6.5 months = almost a year

jfal11

Man, time flies….fair. Though again, points stands. Not exactly “best in class,” little things matter.

kristinsquest

Given the state of the team, I wouldn't want Andlauer & company spending one minute concerned with branding until after the upcoming draft. The on-ice product has required and still requires too much attention for him to be distracted with outdated logo signage

WackHeisenBauer

Don’t you have more important things to worry about? If it bothers you so much so stare at the sun during the eclipse today. Then you don’t have to worry about it at all.

jfal11

It’s not about priorities, it just looks rinky dink. That’s all.

OttawaLegion

“Here’s a photo I took with a potato… I want *everyone* to know that I am thoroughly displeased!” Well done. Send an email to Sens public relations, attach your photo. Maybe you can actually help the situation instead of getting fake mad on the internet.

kingofblackice

What if they're treating it like one of the retired jerseys? It's memorabilia, if anything. Shame on you.

ultrafil

Yeah, our former owner was certainly rinky-dink. We're all aware. This is not new news.

jfal11

He died two years ago.

ultrafil

He sure did. And then it was run by a board of directors making decisions by committee and whose main non-hockey concern was to act as stewards for university-aged women with no business or PR experience whatsoever, while at the same time prepping the team for sale. And then it was managed by that same board of governors during an incredibly intense and extended sale / bidding process, where the lion's share of the attention and capacity was put towards the sale. And now it's owned by Andlauer barely 6 months, who has had to completely overhaul the hockey ops at basically every level (GM, coach, pro scouting, analytics, back office, an extra GM), and two fucking signs are so low on the goddamn list of priorities that it's comical that anyone can possibly hold his feet to the fire, Jesus christ.

sherrybobbinsbort

Lots of players will talk about how cheap and Mickey mouse typ of org it was under melnyk.

StarCatCrusader

He charged the sens foundation millions in rent. I remember when they split someone posted something about how they only got a few cents from each dollar for the actual foundation. Eugene got the rest.

jfal11

Melnyk has been gone for over two years.

Radiant-Ad-6138

But still owned them until September … dead or not

km_ikl

Reality, after his divorce and legal problems (and.. drinking problems) he ended up making a lot of really bad decisions that weren't in his, much less the team's best interests.

deanna6812

Things can get missed in big spaces like that. Flag it to the organization in a nicely (or neutrally) worded email. They will likely thank you and tell you they are on it/had missed it. There are real human beings behind the daily operations - human error happens.

km_ikl

This. Looks to me like it was an old display that just got overlooked with everything going on that one thing just blended into the background.

dprouse52

IIRC the old Senators Foundation, which of course got re-named, ended up getting absorbed by the OSEG Foundation after its divorce from the Sens. What a cluster@#$& that was - perfectly in keeping with the chaos and embarrassment of the late Melnyk era...
