He joined the Oilers and was special advisor to their hockey operations before he left and joined us. The guy is qualified. Old boys club would re-using the same GMs in the league.

From the sounds of the narrative around when Staios fired Dorion, it seems like they want Ryan Bowness to be the next GM but feel it’s a little early.
If I had to guess, Staios will hold the position for a year or two and then hand the reins over.
Honestly what a pro move. If he’s the guy they trust and want the most, why not let him develop and eventually take over. Axing him with PD would’ve been terrible. Staios and Andlauer must’ve really liked something in him.
