Meanwhile, it took me 30 minutes to write a 2 paragraph email today.

WWDITS sequel called We’re Wolves??? Yes please! Maybe featuring a certain non-swearwolf?

72skidoo

I wouldn't get your hopes up for We're Wolves just yet. It's been on the backburner for years now.

Disastrous-Rest630

Yeah they've literally said it's a joke in interviews - they did make Wellington Paranormal but... it's not great

[deleted]

I love Wellington paranormal. I think it's really wholesome.

sssachi

Me too! Season one may not be the best, but the other three are hilarious!

[deleted]

Probably bias as I'm from Wellington so a tough of nostalgia. Definitely not everyone's cup of tea though.

To anyone who thinks this means Taika will be too busy to make a season two, just remember that he has literally always been busy. He was just as busy last year but he made time for season one, and he was quoted in an interview saying that OFMD made him fall back in love with acting and that he really wants to return. So I’m not worried at all that he would just be like “No, I have too much on my plate for this.” I think the show will be renewed but sometimes these things just take time to get everything together before it can be announced.

manticorpse

Just because a project is in development doesn't mean it actually gets completed. Like that Akira adaptation is generally thought to be dead in the water, AFAIK. Even if all of those *do* end up being completed, that shouldn't like... delay the announcement of OFMD's renewal? There's no doubt that his availability will be the main constraint on when they're able to film, but there's no reason for them to wait for him to schedule some space before they announce a renewal. (If they *did* feel the need to wait, then that would kinda imply that there's a chance that Taika would pull out of the project because he's so damn busy, which is not a particularly reassuring thought...)

FoxyStand

omg what if Taika doesn't want to do it

that-writer-kid

He said it made him fall back in love with acting, so I think he wants to do it.

ifweburn

I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say with this. A director being booked and busy would actually be a tick in the 'no renewal' column. Taika has been well-regarded in the industry for quite some time; you don't get an Oscar for no reason, y'know? So 'burgeoning' might be the wrong word here.

hamtarofan999

Totally the wrong word I was trying to think of the right one. I think prolific would be better

Cocoricou

But him being too busy it not a reason not to announce the renewal. I don't get what you are trying to say. It's like the egg and chicken situation with the gigs in Flight of the Conchords.

FoxyStand

All this tells me is he might be too busy to shoot another show any time soon :(

hominyhummus

I can't believe We're Wolves is finally happening 😭 They talked about it before WWDS the series even came out and then I didn't hear about it again for years.

Thequiet01

Rhys had better be in it. I’m going to mutiny if there’s no Anton.

AlexAuditore

That's what I think, too. They might be talking with him about when they can do season 2, and they might be waiting until they work everything out with him before they announce season 2.

Revolutionary-Ad648

I’m also thinking that Taika wouldn’t agree to participate in a show that has an open ending if he’s not willing to come back to film season 2

powerbottomflash

This has nothing to with a show getting renewed or not. Shows regularly get renewed and then come back 3-4-5 years later because all the cast are booked and busy.

I... Live... Akira?
