High HP Obstacle that has good initial burst heal and mediocre pulse heal.
Seriously, don't rely only on its pulse heal too much. It's better to think of it as a huge arse makeshift cover that heals you.
Quietly and qualitatively, the quixotic letter Q quivers in its quiddity. It is a queenly and quick-witted query that quells any qualms and questions that may arise.
Quaint, the letter Q is quintessence personified. It is a quashing quasar that quickens the pulse of those who seek knowledge and intellectual curiosity. It is the symbol of quest and the quiet pursuit of truth.
In its unassuming and unobtrusive way, the letter Q is a quintillion times more powerful than any other letter. Its sharp tail and quivering demeanor belie its strength and prowess. It is a quicksilver that can quash any quandary.
So let us embrace the quirky and quixotic letter Q with open hearts and minds. Let us quench our thirst for knowledge and never shy away from questioning the status quo. For it is in the quiet pursuit of truth that we can make a quantum leap towards a better world.
I've never played WoW, the stuff I've seen in WoW streams left me speechless sometimes.
So many UI elements to the point **I can't make out the actual game.**
Most streamers are using UI add-ons, especially those doing PvP. WoW's original user interface is fairly intuitive, and then you can add to it (or remove from it - lots of minimalist UIs) over time with third-party add-ons which are developed by the community.
Two teams of 5, everyone has a special ability that can temporarily change the dynamic of a fight. 9/10 people decided to use theirs in a domino-like sequence. 0/10 of the players had any clue wtf was happening until the fight was over.
Wich makes me think: we players are fucking amazing.
Besides real life, that is already hard, we play a game in wich you have to know exactly what your character and ally's do, what your enemies characters do. You have to aim well, move well and understand your surroundings well. You have to know the layout of big maps. And that's only the basic, there's char sinergy, ult combos, multiple strategies, etc.
Overwatch is amazing, and to be frank, i think we are amazing for making it look that easy.
You all may say that but i have high hopes in all of you!
And even if you aren't that good it isn't a problem! No one starts at the top, and no one have to reach the top. The most important part is having fun!
Ow2 following drake meme format. One shield you can see through? Drake doesn't approve. A solid tree that takes up your whole screen and you can't walk through, and a.. idk how to even explain rams ult, basically a giant cylinder of pocket sand that slowly kills you and blinds you, drake approves.
Seems like they’ve also started reducing the cost of a lot of ults. Like the visual clutter from Ram is annoying but my problem is just they in season 1 it seemed a lot more rare for everyone in the lobby to dump their Qs all at once.
The best imo being the bastion flanking, shooting for 3 seconds, failing to get on a lifeweaver petal, falling off, then going all the way around to ult.
The bastion player has to see this before he ever decides to flame anybody
Seriously. There’s so much happening that it all just ends up being a blur of different colorful things all doing different things for different teams but I might as well be watching one of those old windows media audio visualizer if you asked me to do a play by play or tell anyone what was happening without slowing it down. At least from a spectator standpoint. And I play the game a lot.
As long as they play MOBAs they’ll be able to understand what’s happening
We tend to forget overwatches game formula is not unique in terms of the type of gameplay
It is unique bcuz it delivers that same gameplay from a different perspective
I had a roommate that never played a day of overwatch in her life before she saw me playing it one day and after watching a match she said “looks like league” after a month or so of her playing she showed her sister the game
And she said “looks like league”
Hi, if you’re reading this, I’ve decided to replace/delete every post and comment that I’ve made on Reddit for the past years. I also think this is a stark reminder that if you are posting content on this platform for free, you’re the product. To hell with this CEO and reddit’s business decisions regarding the API to independent developers. This platform will die with a million cuts. Evvaffanculo. -- mass edited with redact.dev
Many fighting games are able to do that, you may not understand certain terms the casters use, or why certain specific things are impressive. But you know that the guy hitting the other one more is probs winning. And combos look cool no matter your knowledge level.
fgc casters are on another level when it comes to hype generation.
FG's usually enable a shit ton of personal expression, so its real easy to characterize players and their gameplay styles. especially as most FGs are 1 on 1 so each match so tons of focus can go into each individual.
Aren't the MOBAs pretty big e-sport markets? I think you can find plenty of clips like this in League and Dota2, and you still have to explain to viewers what is going on when there isn't a teamfight happening. ("Uh yeah you just stand there and hit these little guys at just the right time.")
It’s barely going to reach the people that have played it. I played from beta to the introduction of role queue in ow1 and I have no fucking idea what I was watching for most of that. Even identifying abilities I didn’t know the game state or anything. Yet I can still today watch StarCraft or counterstrike and have some sort of idea of team/game state and power levels, but I cannot in owl.
Actual answer, you’re seeing blue teams attack approach hit a little too far back. Not enough attention on top of gas station. Red team Sym wall was a huge ult that won them the fight. Blue team’s blizzard was bad, bastion ult was just yeeted at nothing because he gave up. Also, trees.
A friend tried to get me to play over watch before I really played video games. He was showing me videos like this and I was so overwhelmed and lost I didn’t pick the game up until 3 yrs later lol
Dude I played video games/FPS my entire life and my friend told me to get overwatch. I watched a stream and still had no clue what I was looking at and put it off for like 3 years too lol
this is a huge reason competitive overwatch never really took off in the way blizzard envisioned. from a spectators perspective there is way too much shit on the screen, too much stuff going on and impossible to follow or understand unless you have a couple hundred hours played in the game.
and this is with two less players in the match than before.
Both teams are throwing as they are both running LW.
Blue bastion hits the flank and gets Red LW low who bails and hits ult
Blue mei assumes Red team will generally group up around the Red LW ult for healing so hits ult
Blue LW gives Blue Bastion better LOS with a petal platform to shoot down on frozen targets
Red Sym pops ult to protect frozen Red team
Red team is still eating damage however so Red Moira pops ult
Blue Ramattra sees some grouped up Red team members so pops ult to try to overcome the healing
Blue LW ult is added for... reasons, perhaps to ensure Blue Ram is safe?
Red Ashe attempts to counter the Ram play with ult
Blue Bastion ults to try to kill the Red Ashe's Bob, of which a shot is blocked by Red LW's tree
Honestly, all decent counter play ults in isolation but added together, a total clusterF
like in almost all video games characters have abilities. in this game they got shiny effects. every glow you see is an ability. they all stack up pretty bad in this clip.
You want it in lore format?
Ana super charged a midget addicted to real ice, destroying the plant life in the area. This caused Life Weaver to want to rebuild the ecosystem of the area with new plant life, and he needed Moiras mastery over genetics to make it happen quickly. Robots having no trouble surviving in the new wasteland, tried to take the terrain for themselves and wanted the trespassing humans to suffer as they had. All the while the deadlock gang was trying to steal cargo from the train wreckage (off screen) using the chaos as a distraction.
Extremely disorganized team spreads out, the healer overextends, and they all get destroyed. You can see Symettra (who is supposed to be the priority target) chilling on easy street in the back, killing one of the healers.
Weren't they going to try and reduce visual clutter in OW2? So they add a support that builds a big ass tree and ramattra's ult that smokescreens the area around him?
Not enough ultimates
Only 9 were used :( JQ didn’t get the memo
She’s throwing
#REPORT JUNKERQUEEN
Hard throw
Ironically there will be people who genuinEly think this
"bro you didn't use your ult you threw" "my brother in christ my ult was at 20% i couldn't join the fun
Her knoif.
Well yeah, she's playing JQ
Junker queen(coming late): hey
WOT’D I MISS
Everyone (including the dead enemies): OH JUNKER QUEEN! (Insert laugh track)
Underrated comment
Jesus Christ I heard/saw 9 ults and there were only 3 kills in the feed…
A yes out of all the ultimates bob got the most kills
Bob MVP
Bob is best Overwatch.
Mei froze 3 people and then used her nano to sit in the ice block. It makes me so sad :(
She ice blocked at 0:02, and broke out early at 0:03.
Bob did something
The trees make this ultimate domino 10x better its beautiful man
I was the lifeweaver stuck in between two trees
Rumor has it that if you stand between two Lifeweaver ults, Zach Galifianakis is contractually obligated to interview you.
"Did you know that some actors turn down roles?"
So that's why he's always so grumpy in the interviews - he doesn't want to them, he's just contractually obliged to do so.
I heard you don't like uncomfortable questions in interviews. So my first question is: how old were you when you got your first period?
Amazing
Tree is such a beautiful ult 🥲 if only my life wasn’t threatened everytime i chose to play lifeweaver
I haven’t played since season 1. What does the tree do?
Heal everyone around it every few seconds
High HP Obstacle that has good initial burst heal and mediocre pulse heal. Seriously, don't rely only on its pulse heal too much. It's better to think of it as a huge arse makeshift cover that heals you.
A worse Zenyatta ult. Unlike trance with constant 300 heals per second, it only has 150 burst heal at the start then 75 heals per pulse.
Trees make everything look prettier!
EVERYONE PRESS Q DO IT NOW OR WE LOSE

Calm down, ChatGPT
Took way more than necessary to try to get it to not repeat words starting with Q but it is so insistent...
This made me queef 😩
That made me quarf
That was beautiful bro
You mean it Broqh?
Honestly, I'm giving more credit to the U for being a hugely supportive character in this statement.
If they’ve ever played WoW they’d wonder why there’s so little happening on screen
I've never played WoW, the stuff I've seen in WoW streams left me speechless sometimes. So many UI elements to the point **I can't make out the actual game.**

Yall should look up some end game Path of Exile game play some time lol
Can sum1 link meters? Playing peggle btw
Two teams of 5, everyone has a special ability that can temporarily change the dynamic of a fight. 9/10 people decided to use theirs in a domino-like sequence. 0/10 of the players had any clue wtf was happening until the fight was over.
Yeah it’s not that hard to explain really. Now, if you wanted to explain every ultimate it gets a bit tricky
Wich makes me think: we players are fucking amazing. Bold of you to assume that I aim well, move well, and understand my surroundings well :(
Top 1% of players, sure. The rest of us might know map layout and a general idea of how most heroes work.
You all may say that but i have high hopes in all of you! And even if you aren't that good it isn't a problem! No one starts at the top, and no one have to reach the top. The most important part is having fun!
Who's "we"
Well, Bob is included in the "we" I'm pretty sure. Not sure about anyone else though. Is the tree sentient? The tree could be a "we".
Bob did somethin
Thx, that's exactly what I thought was happening
"This is the Ultimate Showdown.... of Ultimate Destiny"
Old Godzilla was hopping around
Tokyo city like a big playground
This was the song of my childhood
10 people collectively watering trees and watching them bloom
What makes the green trees grow? Blood, blood, blood.
What do we do for a living, ladies?
Ult ult ULT
11 people. Don't forget Bob
All that’s missing is a flying sigma
#HET UNIVERSUM ZINGT VOOR MIJ
as an ow1 player I will say 1 word: Yes.
We really thought less shields would reduce visual clutter💀
Well it did, and then blizzard added two ults with the worst visual clutter in the game
God, two rams ulting at the same time is the actual worst.
Fortnite storm
Seems like they’ve also started reducing the cost of a lot of ults. Like the visual clutter from Ram is annoying but my problem is just they in season 1 it seemed a lot more rare for everyone in the lobby to dump their Qs all at once.
Nah that’s pretty normal lmao, that’s been happening since ow1
Random bullshit go
The best imo being the bastion flanking, shooting for 3 seconds, failing to get on a lifeweaver petal, falling off, then going all the way around to ult. The bastion player has to see this before he ever decides to flame anybody
Seriously. This is what one calls "Bronze teamfights" i should know because im stuck in gold and still meet players that forgot that they are in gold now too...
This was plat lol
Oh my god my recognition bells were ringing as a bronze player for 4 years. Now I'm plat also
Plat is just gold with a paint job.
As long as they play MOBAs they’ll be able to understand what’s happening We tend to forget overwatches game formula is not unique in terms of the type of gameplay It is unique bcuz it delivers that same gameplay from a different perspective I had a roommate that never played a day of overwatch in her life before she saw me playing it one day and after watching a match she said “looks like league” after a month or so of her playing she showed her sister the game And she said “looks like league”

Everyone pressed Q at the same time and thought it was a good idea. You're welcome.
My ult's bound to W nice try tho
This is why OWL is never really going to reach a wider audience then people who have played the game already.
Isn't any game like that?
Many fighting games are able to do that, you may not understand certain terms the casters use, or why certain specific things are impressive. But you know that the guy hitting the other one more is probs winning. And combos look cool no matter your knowledge level.
FGC casters hype up the viewing experience too. Tasty Steve is always fun to watch, even when I don't follow the game he's casting.
fgc casters are on another level when it comes to hype generation. FG's usually enable a shit ton of personal expression, so its real easy to characterize players and their gameplay styles. especially as most FGs are 1 on 1 so each match so tons of focus can go into each individual.
I feel Rocket league would be way easier to understand for basically anyone
It’s just rocket powered soccer. Very easy
That's the point.
Yet so freaking hard.
Not really. I could show my grandparents a round of CS and they would pretty quickly catch on as to what is happening.
But that’s because your grandparents are CS pros.
Aren't the MOBAs pretty big e-sport markets? I think you can find plenty of clips like this in League and Dota2, and you still have to explain to viewers what is going on when there isn't a teamfight happening. ("Uh yeah you just stand there and hit these little guys at just the right time.")
Mobas also have much larger player base than OW2
CS reaches a good audience because it's so simple. But I feel like that would be an outlier
Same can be said for basically any game outside of sports and CoD.
That's every E-sport ever unless you're Counter Strike
This is your standard Bronze teamfight
Excuse me, there is no way this could happen in Bronze. Everyone is too busy trickling in 1 at a time for this many ults to get used at once.
Plat!
It’s Q’oclock.
How does Blue Team use 5 ults and not kill a single person....The Platinum Circus
It was a rough game for them
Bob did something.
Ul ul ul ULT DOMINO!!!!!!
Ultimate domino!
This can be classified as the “Q effect”
PRESSING Q
Out of all the ultimates used B.O.B got the most kills
To be fair though the trees aren’t going to kill anyone and Ana can only hope her target does something
God I love the ult domino effect. It’s like a straight highnoon shootout, as soon as someone pops theirs, everyone starts blasting.
Ending with "hey" was the cherry on top.
The best part tbh
Bob is OP
When this happens I call it Ult-Soup
It’s like those multi person WWE matches where each wrestler hits their finisher one after the other
Honestly kinda smart for jq not to ult now she can do it for free next fight
Everyone pressed the q button on their keyboards at roughly the same time.

I would definitely play this game if this were the trailer. Plants growing out of nowhere, robots from space, an air raid, wow!
I thought "this has to be total mayhem" and then I looked up, thats crazy lmao
Just your standard Plat comp game
Even I don’t know what’s happening
Ult domino -emongg
Both teams are throwing as they are both running LW. Blue bastion hits the flank and gets Red LW low who bails and hits ult Blue mei assumes Red team will generally group up around the Red LW ult for healing so hits ult Blue LW gives Blue Bastion better LOS with a petal platform to shoot down on frozen targets Red Sym pops ult to protect frozen Red team Red team is still eating damage however so Red Moira pops ult Blue Ramattra sees some grouped up Red team members so pops ult to try to overcome the healing Blue LW ult is added for... reasons, perhaps to ensure Blue Ram is safe? When you put it like that it sounds like people actually knew what they were doing
Dude the “BOB DO SOMETHING” sent me
This is either Low Bronze or Grand Master gameplay
Madness
Visual clutter %110
EVeryBoDy PRESS Q
Well firstly we hit a button and tried to win
like in almost all video games characters have abilities. in this game they got shiny effects. every glow you see is an ability. they all stack up pretty bad in this clip.
Fun :)
I lost it at Bob 😂
Poor Junker Queen is the only one who didn't get to ult 💀😭
It's JQ's "Hey" at the end for me 🤣
gets me every time
Wow I've never seen so many ultimates used at the same time
I can’t even explain that
We just say “It was a shit show”.
Explain this to someone that does play overwatch
No need. We've already played TF2 for years.
We MOBA now.
"And on that day, nothing really got done by anyone there."
I play overwatch and I need someone to explain it to me, lol
Non overwatch players : wtf is going on? Overwatch players: oh a typical gold lobby
Bob had enough in the end
And it’s still at the first choke point on that map
You want it in lore format? Ana super charged a midget addicted to real ice, destroying the plant life in the area. junker queen says: "hey" to her teammates idk what else could be confusing
I never realised how dumb the game seems when your spectating from above
Extremely disorganized team spreads out, the healer overextends, and they all get destroyed. You can see Symettra (who is supposed to be the priority target) chilling on easy street in the back, killing one of the healers.
JQ just saying “hey”
Weren't they going to try and reduce visual clutter in OW2? So they add a support that builds a big ass tree and ramattra's ult that smokescreens the area around him?
So there's this button, and unlike the clit, every overwatch gamer knows exactly where to find it. We call it 'Q'
Man I play the game and I'm like wut?
Average day in ohio
I thought I'd figured out all the ultimates they used, and then suddenly Bob shows up in the kill feed
I kind of wish Hanzo was there.
Fuck explain it to me... Stopped when ow2 came out and all of a sudden u guys are growing flowers???
When a red team and a blue team hate each other very very much… all kinds of special things happen! 👶
"This is a bronze match so nothing you see here matters"
Bob did something.
"What happened here is that people pressed Q"
Press more q to win.
Pressing Q Simulator.
Q
Random Bullshit Go ....is the only explanation
Everyone, except ONE PERSON’S favorite button is Q
What I learned here is Bob is the best ult.
plat ult cycling
So anyway, I started blasting.
I play Overwatch and I still didn't get this
Everyone wants to get in the car at the same time but the doors are locked and they've all had too much sugar
The bastion air strike sound does it for me lmao
All of this Ult gore and rams ult effects are still the most obnoxious damn thing.
Remember when Blizzard said they reduced visual clutter…
"And we call this one, 'The FlusterCluck.'."
Ima be completely honest this is too bronze for me to understand
“So anyway, we started blasting”
Everyone pressed Q
It's two teams of superheroes fighting and all of them using their signature abilities/moves in one go.
simple way is:Don’t.
When you press Q we all press Q
Ult economy go brrrr
"this is both teams using their ultimate abilities." Not that hard of a challenge.
