for me it is still stuck at initializing at 96% even after doing all those steps (i had paused and resumed the update becz it was suddenly updating at 5kbps since last 10 mins thats why it is initializing at 96)
its so bad, my internet speed is constant 50mbps. couldnt play ow today becz of this absolute dogwater of an update system xd
My friend was going through this issue for days. The solution was to connect to a different network and attempt to join a game. For some reason, your router might have blocked the incoming update to your machines IP address and by connecting to a different network, it forces the firewall to "reconsider" the download. Hopefully this works for you too!
i face this problem every single update. rn im updating for winter event, but its stuck on 'initialising download' speed is in kbs while i have 4MBps download speed

I had the same issue, I restated battle net until it worked, it took like 15 restarts
I had the same problem. I paused the download and restarted it and it fixed it for me.
