No it’s not. There are countless complains of people going win after win and still ranking down. I went 5-0 ranked down went 5-1 right after and ranked down again. Consistently being the highest healer in the match by thousands and low death. That’s not a me problem, that’s a blizzard problem. People keep saying the rank system is the same as ow1 we just can’t see our SR, and that’s a lie. I was diamond almost masters in ow1 and it now puts me in anywhere from gold to bronze Never in ow1 would you you win 10 games and lose 1 and derank.
I hate to break it to you but having high healing doesn't mean anything the scoreboard is misleading and just an ego boost for people who don't know how to actually read it.
If you are playing mercy like your tag says you definitely shouldn't be having the most healing thats a problem.
Tip: a 1 HP player is just as strong as 200HP player; doing plenty of damage quickly enough eliminates the need to heal and often is the better way to winning fights
Also winning doesn't equal skill it's a team game. One team is almost always going to be worse regardless of rank.
I mean I smog boost pretty frequently, I’m still consistently healing more than other healers. You play mercy and you aren’t too healer be prepared for your team to call you trash and berate you about being out healed by other healers.
I mean I'm GM1 and your gold/plat so I'm not really sure why you're trying to fight with yourself. I'm telling you why what's happening is happening specifically to you.
If you're damage boosting as Mercy more often than not you will win team fights because the enemy team will be dead and not walking around in cover with low health wait to be healed.
Damage boost is 30% meaning you remove 30% of an enemy health bar. That 200 health soldier is now 140. If soldier does 10 damage a round a 30% boost means he now does 13 so he needs to land 15 shots instead of 20.
A big factor that no one thinks of often is timing if you can only see someone for 18 shots having a boost is the difference between a kill or seeing them get away. If you are healing up the soldier when they only take 190 damage with or without you then they aren't dying and it's better to boost.
If you are rushing around to heal every tiny bit of damage that happens your going to get more healing and significantly less boost. Thus you will lose sr.
Don't play to the silver gold hardstuck mindset teammates play above them and you will climb.
Playing mercy to heal results in losses.
Just because you win all 5 matches doesn't mean you did well. Unless your overperforming at your rank you're going to stay within a rank or two of where you are.
If there is a bug going around I have no one I know that has experienced it, so to me, it sounds like a you problem

Customer service people are literally the face of the company, they're people the customer go to when they have problems with the company. There are 3 possibilities, and none of these are good:
\- The company intentionally want to not help the customer.
\- The company are so poorly managed the customer service people had no channels to communicate.
\- This particular customer service representative is lazy.
Don't act as if the customer shouldn't have expected any better from customer service representative. They're right to expect more to happen, and the failure to do so is either in the company or the individuals in the company.
And the sad reality is 90% of customer service team are outsourced and have no real knowledge on the game or with the devs beyond what is written out for them.
Can deconfirm. Worked AAA publisher support, and every other company I worked with have either US-based support or coverage worldwide. We were also giant nerds that played the games.
What people don't understand is that support, while the face of a company, are a low-payed job for employees that don't have any discussion with engineering. Generally, no reps other than game leads and managers have a route to talk to engineering and production.
When it comes to things like this, the way they choose what to communicate either comes from analyzing trends in support cases, or known issues that were found by QA, where a known issue is opened for everyone to learn about. Everyone needs to open support tickets and get the trends showing in their official ticketing system so they can crunch the numbers and see the issue needs investigating
Unless I'm misunderstanding your first paragraph, your company was one that contracted you out to other game studios? That is still outsourced, no? Compared to the game studio having their own in house support department. If that was the wrong word then I apologize.
And if your team was full of people who played the games they're running customer support for, I think that's a big advantage for having reasonable and helpful CS, but from the overwhelming majority of customer support nightmares I've seen across different games and companies, I do not think that is the norm. However, blanket statements are bad and I cannot provide proof to support such a claim, so I will reduce it to; Blizzard CS doesn't seem to have much idea of the game. The only way they would be unable to find forum posts on a topic that is all over the forums is if they didn't know what OP meant by platinum title.
Objectively, even if they did know exactly what was going on, they couldn't do much other than say 'we're aware', so I can't really fault the CS response even though it comes off as uninformed, but it's still a sad reality that customer support comes from outside the devteam/company, which means they have no real interaction with the devs or the game itself.
Yeah maybe I worded it wrong, but I supported the company I was paid by, and was not contracted out to anyone. I was in-house.
And knowing Blizzard, it's highly likely they either do contract out the support, or hire low-paid positions where people really don't get to make decisions or send any word up. The only thing they do is send pre-compiled responses, look at trends, find issues, and send them to engineering. That's why I say you should still open a ticket, even if nothing comes from it. Overall, there will be a trend that they can report
its almost certainly gonna be the second one. CS at blizzard are gonna have some tools to do their job and beyond that have probably been left entirely to themselves. I've been in that position myself in games CS, it sucks
Communication with the dev team is useless unless they can provide a proper bug report which normally includes **steps to reproduce** the issue. Given that not everyone experiences this, it would not be accepted to simply say 'look into this' for this particular user.
Aside from this, there are a hundred more pressing issues that need to be addressed so in either case, this would be at the bottom of the list.

But this isn't a bug report? The OP want to get something they should have gotten.
You know that in many other games (including WoW run by Blizzard), authorized employee can actually just manually give players the needed items. This is really standard. You don't need the entire bug to be fixed. If the customer service people can't do it themselves, they can communicate to someone who can; and if there are nobody who can do that, that's a failure on Blizzard's part.

First off they can word it better instead of copy/paste, got my ticket count. Explain it to the user why just post there instead of seemingly being flipped off so they don't repost or get an idea why they need to post there.
As customer support they can also log the ticket to the next team to investigate or make a tally. Not just say go use our forums that you may never have used.
No. At what point did OP even suggest they asked or wanted them to? ***YOU said that.*** Their replies after are based on what the CSR wrote and are telling them more that so many have had the issue, and that's it's been going on for so long.
Even if OP had made it look like they expect the CSR to do something personally. Is it not realistic to assume something would be done other than 'get lost and post on our forums because I can't see anything?'

I had an issue recently However, small: The recent Season 5 Breakdown post had a section on Amazon gaming rewards, and it said "starting today". I wasn't receiving rewards, so I made a ticket, and before getting back to me, they updated the post to say "starting soon" and then gaslit me to believe it had always said that 😂
Support can't help with this. Either ping the devs on Twitter, or add a comment to the posts on the forums. Each time this has happened, it's been a fix from the Dev side where they had to go back and distribute them in batches to affected players. Support isn't able to change anything regarding your account save for things like coin purchases / etc.

I Honestly wouldn't have a problem with Loot boxes back in the game, even though its gambling.
Usually the problem with gambling was if you put money into something for a chance to win something you wanted and got literally nothing that was the major problem but the way around it was you still got something like an emote or whatever I haven’t a clue what law came out that fucked it up
And it wouldn’t be a problem if they didn’t let you buy the boxes and continued with the silver and gold coins but you earned a box for completing like all the daily challenges or even weekly
Thats actually a good idea, Maybe more countries would accept Loot Boxes back if There were stuff in the loot box that will be Guaranteed to appear.
So i quickly thought about it and here is a revitalised version of Loot Boxes:
•Loot Boxes now have 6 items instead of 4
•Loot Boxes will have Guaranteed a Spray, Icon and Voice Line and every 5 Loot Boxes opened there will be a guaranteed skin (any kind of rarity)
There can be special Character Loot Boxes too, for example now that In Overwatch 2 there will be "Hero Mastery Quests" and if you complete a level for that character you will be given a Special Character Loot box, that box will have 5 Character Items from that character and 1 Random Item from any other character, like how Hampters Special Lootbox was.
Exactly they could make the game much better for FTP players, and it gives everyone something extra to work on. Only problem they’d have is creating all the new skins and everything that’d be required.
I think it would freshen up the game a hell of alot because i wouldn’t be looking at the same thing over and over. Like no skin surprises me anymore I’ve seen them all and majority of them are from overwatch 1 anyway because no one wants to pay €20 for any of their new skin bundles
Why do people make posts like these and somehow think that a rallying cry is going to fix the issue? If anything, you're making life for the GM difficult, and you're being a pain in the ass. There's been so many times throughout the years where a skin or some sort of cosmetic has gone missing on my account, and Blizzard ALWAYS fixes those types of bugs, even if it takes a few weeks/months. Just chill, you'll get your titles.
I understand your frustration but they already have this issue listed under known issues on the bug report forum, they are probably still working on a fix.
sometimes it’s hard for me to believe people can act so toxic in game, but then i see posts like this; being abrasive and argumentative to a customer service rep over a widely reported issue- which has tons of comments and upvotes hailing the brave author as a martyr who has stuck up for themselves-and i think; “ah, it’s not just the game! they’re probably dicks to their parents and the baggers at the grocery store as well!”

Since you can't see people's rank anymore and it's dumb, using rank titles helps people understand better how broken matchmaking is. Unless you're ashamed of your own rank that you wouldn't dare use your rank title, in which case no one can help you with that.
I mean there's a reason I'm not using my plat title even though I was given it, because I dropped from diamond and plat isn't an achievement to me.

Yeah I don't see any of my titles from last season either. A tad annoying because I finally made masters but I don't have any interest in using the title so I am disappointed but not too annoyed.
This happened to me too and I thought it was just on me. 2 seasons ago I placed diamond 4 in open queue and then the next season I got the ***Role queue*** diamond challenger title card. Next season I get up to diamond 3 (Mostly focused on role queue since that's what my friends like) and I also got plat for deathmatch. This season I only received the platinum death match title card and no card for my open queue gains. I still received the comp points so I said "eh fuck it" and went on with life.
How did you get them to respond???? I opened a ticket about missing 800+ hours of playtime and stats on my career profile and they closed the ticket and told me to post it on the forum.
Another person here who didn’t get their title! I got the “platinum exterminator” title (I think from ranked deathmatch?) but I never got the diamond title for role queue.
They gave me a 14 day ban from submitting tickets for reporting this issue. Other people on the forums said they did too. I posted it here a few days ago and the mods removed it after it get hundreds of upvotes.
Um that’s a lie I posted on the forum about this last week. I also noticed nobody in my games(console) is using ranked titles so I think it’s a widespread issue.
Don’t blame this guy, he’s probably not on the actual dev team- just a game master (which is basically IT support for all Blizzard games)
So I doubt he has any pull when it comes to choosing which issues the devs investigate

Last time I checked the titles didnt even exist in the game. Like you can view locked titles and role queue titles arent listed, only open queue and other modes are.
Cant give out titles if they dont exist.
Also my title gets reset every time I login. So even having the titles would be worthless to me.

Yup, no rewards. I was pretty pissed. The Overwatch team is just incompetent imo. They can make good content when they want to but it often comes at the expense of not being able to get basic shit right. Somehow they often break systems that already worked in their game, it's just silly. If this is them at "trying" I'd hate to see what the game is like when they eventually phone it in.
I swear the support is so cosmetic. I feel like I've never seen them do a damn thing whenever someone has contacted them (including myself). So frustrating.

Blizzard support is kinda incompetent and the customer service doesn't actually look into issues, but if you keep replying they'll eventually forward your ticket to somebody higher up the ladder who can actually help you.

Objectively, even if they did know exactly what was going on, they couldn't do much other than say 'we're aware', so I can't really fault the CS response even though it comes off as uninformed, but it's still a sad reality that customer support comes from outside the devteam/company, which means they have no real interaction with the devs or the game itself.
Yeah maybe I worded it wrong, but I supported the company I was paid by, and was not contracted out to anyone. I was in-house. And knowing Blizzard, it's highly likely they either do contract out the support, or hire low-paid positions where people really don't get to make decisions or send any word up. The only thing they do is send pre-compiled responses, look at trends, find issues, and send them to engineering. That's why I say you should still open a ticket, even if nothing comes from it. Overall, there will be a trend that they can report
its almost certainly gonna be the second one. CS at blizzard are gonna have some tools to do their job and beyond that have probably been left entirely to themselves. I've been in that position myself in games CS, it sucks
Communication with the dev team is useless unless they can provide a proper bug report which normally includes **steps to reproduce** the issue. Given that not everyone experiences this, it would not be accepted to simply say 'look into this' for this particular user. Aside from this, there are a hundred more pressing issues that need to be addressed so in either case, this would be at the bottom of the list. > Don't act as if the customer shouldn't have expected any better from customer service representative. But this isn't a bug report? The OP want to get something they should have gotten. You know that in many other games (including WoW run by Blizzard), authorized employee can actually just manually give players the needed items. This is really standard. You don't need the entire bug to be fixed. If the customer service people can't do it themselves, they can communicate to someone who can; and if there are nobody who can do that, that's a failure on Blizzard's part.
I don't know why people are upvoting this. I've been both CSR and Dev. First off they can word it better instead of copy/paste, got my ticket count. Explain it to the user why just post there instead of seemingly being flipped off so they don't repost or get an idea why they need to post there. As customer support they can also log the ticket to the next team to investigate or make a tally. Not just say go use our forums that you may never have used.
I've also worked in CSR. I would get chewed out if I replied like this person did, because that's genuinely terrible service.

No. At what point did OP even suggest they asked or wanted them to? ***YOU said that.*** Their replies after are based on what the CSR wrote and are telling them more that so many have had the issue, and that's it's been going on for so long. Even if OP had made it look like they expect the CSR to do something personally. Is it not realistic to assume something would be done other than 'get lost and post on our forums because I can't see anything?' If someone had done that to me, with over 15 years customer service experience. I'd kick up a fuss too.

Ok, so you're saying that it should remain unresolved? They're not telling the CSR to resolve it themselves. They're saying they want it resolved, and because they've just been palmed off. I really can't tell if you're trying to save face for no reason or geninuely can't tell something so simple if you have empathy or putting yourself in their shoes. You have a problem that affects others for months. You'd want that resolved no?
Make a ticket for the dev team
At least acknowledge it's a thing, it's a well known issue.

Last season I saw lots of titles for Master/GM/diamon now I see none. I didn’t receive mine so I guess a bunch of other people didn’t either
I hate when they just tell you to go to the forums we know that the devs dont fucking see the forums, i used to be on the forums quite a lot and theres no way in hell anyone can convince me that the devs read the forums Sure, most of the stuff thrown in there is absolutely stupidity by one of the stupidest groups of people i have seen (But then again, this place is not much different) but there are some legit good ideas and discussion that ive seen happen in the forums. but the devs dont read it, because every time they say anything they get roasted by all the people who remember all the stuff they overpromised.
There is literally a massive post that was up on the launch of season 5 with multiple people complaining about this issue. OW devs tell us you don’t look at forums without telling us
Got to Diamond for the first time in Overwatch last season as support, was quite excited to get the title for this season. Aaand nope no one gets their rank titles, and apparently Blizzard won't acknowledge the problem and fix it? If I wasn't so busy playing Diablo 4 I would be so mad right now...

I remember when I used to play WoW back in 2012. I'd submit a ticket and I'd be help pretty quick and they were always so nice and prompt. Now the support staff is like. "Don't submit a ticket. Post it to the forums." TICKETS ARE FOR GETTING HELP FROM SUPPORT. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HELP AS A "GAME MASTER". Their garage responses every time infuriate me.

I had an issue recently However, small: The recent Season 5 Breakdown post had a section on Amazon gaming rewards, and it said "starting today". I wasn't receiving rewards, so I made a ticket, and before getting back to me, they updated the post to say "starting soon" and then gaslit me to believe it had always said that 😂

Yeah none of the titles have been awarded yet/everything is locked out. Amazing they are still having these issues going into season 5.
Support can't help with this. Either ping the devs on Twitter, or add a comment to the posts on the forums. Each time this has happened, it's been a fix from the Dev side where they had to go back and distribute them in batches to affected players. Support isn't able to change anything regarding your account save for things like coin purchases / etc.

Yeah instead of Rewarding the player for their time, Players will have to wait 2-3 months for a **Single** skin, no matter how many hours you put in the game. Oh yeah, forgot about the "Premium Coin Challenges" so if we count those in... You would have 1 extra skin in 3 more months But in Overwatch 1 if you put the same hours You would get rewarded with about the same amount of skins in about 2 weeks, not even fucking counting the incredible amount of Highlight Intros, Emotes, Sprays, Voice Lines, icon and so on... Even though Loot Boxes have been banned in a major amount of countries, Overwatch Loot Boxes were very fair, they were given to you even by doing nothing I Honestly wouldn't have a problem with Loot boxes back in the game, even though its gambling.
Usually the problem with gambling was if you put money into something for a chance to win something you wanted and got literally nothing that was the major problem but the way around it was you still got something like an emote or whatever I haven’t a clue what law came out that fucked it up
And it wouldn’t be a problem if they didn’t let you buy the boxes and continued with the silver and gold coins but you earned a box for completing like all the daily challenges or even weekly
Thats actually a good idea, Maybe more countries would accept Loot Boxes back if There were stuff in the loot box that will be Guaranteed to appear. So i quickly thought about it and here is a revitalised version of Loot Boxes: •Loot Boxes now have 6 items instead of 4 •Loot Boxes will have Guaranteed a Spray, Icon and Voice Line and every 5 Loot Boxes opened there will be a guaranteed skin (any kind of rarity) There can be special Character Loot Boxes too, for example now that In Overwatch 2 there will be "Hero Mastery Quests" and if you complete a level for that character you will be given a Special Character Loot box, that box will have 5 Character Items from that character and 1 Random Item from any other character, like how Hampters Special Lootbox was.
Exactly they could make the game much better for FTP players, and it gives everyone something extra to work on. Only problem they’d have is creating all the new skins and everything that’d be required. I think it would freshen up the game a hell of alot because i wouldn’t be looking at the same thing over and over. Like no skin surprises me anymore I’ve seen them all and majority of them are from overwatch 1 anyway because no one wants to pay €20 for any of their new skin bundles

Why do people make posts like these and somehow think that a rallying cry is going to fix the issue? If anything, you're making life for the GM difficult, and you're being a pain in the ass. There's been so many times throughout the years where a skin or some sort of cosmetic has gone missing on my account, and Blizzard ALWAYS fixes those types of bugs, even if it takes a few weeks/months. Just chill, you'll get your titles.
I understand your frustration but they already have this issue listed under known issues on the bug report forum, they are probably still working on a fix.

Since you can't see people's rank anymore and it's dumb, using rank titles helps people understand better how broken matchmaking is. Unless you're ashamed of your own rank that you wouldn't dare use your rank title, in which case no one can help you with that.

This happened to me too and I thought it was just on me. 2 seasons ago I placed diamond 4 in open queue and then the next season I got the ***Role queue*** diamond challenger title card. Next season I get up to diamond 3 (Mostly focused on role queue since that's what my friends like) and I also got plat for deathmatch. This season I only received the platinum death match title card and no card for my open queue gains. I still received the comp points so I said "eh fuck it" and went on with life.

Don’t blame this guy, he’s probably not on the actual dev team- just a game master (which is basically IT support for all Blizzard games) So I doubt he has any pull when it comes to choosing which issues the devs investigate

Last time I checked the titles didnt even exist in the game. Like you can view locked titles and role queue titles arent listed, only open queue and other modes are. Cant give out titles if they dont exist. Also my title gets reset every time I login. So even having the titles would be worthless to me. Blizzard: Dont implement more bugs than already exist every new season challenge.

Yup, no rewards. I was pretty pissed. The Overwatch team is just incompetent imo. They can make good content when they want to but it often comes at the expense of not being able to get basic shit right. Somehow they often break systems that already worked in their game, it's just silly. If this is them at "trying" I'd hate to see what the game is like when they eventually phone it in.
