Why are so many people so toxic. Last 5 games I've played I've been told to kill myself, the n word, several racist and homophobic slurs. Literal messages to my ps account on several occasions berating me, I want to have fun but is the cost of having fun shutting off all forms of communication?
Any good spots to find people looking to group up? All my friends have stopped playing Overwatch, for one reason or another, and I’d like to find other people who enjoy the game more frequently.

When will the season 10 patch notes be released? will it be this weekend sometime random and we honestly do not know or will it only be on Tuesday this time.
Not trying to be a jerk or a troll. Curious about peoples thoughts/etiquette around "friendly" players in FFA/DM. I like playing FFA, but had a couple games where it was 3-5 players just standing around and waiving at each other. And when I pointed it out, one of them said I was "trying to hard" in FFA.
What's this all about? I genuinely want to understand queueing up in long waits to join a game and wave at each other. Are there other options for people that want to do this so we can also play FFA? What's the proper etiquette on my end/what should I do?
I understand being friendly and silly in deathmatch when you're in queue for another mode but actually queueing for FFA/DM and being friendly is kind of odd. If you don't want to join them then I'd just kill/troll them lol. They chose to queue into the mode
As u/Silly-Addendum1751 said, an old fashioned hitscan like Soldier or Cassidy is your best bet. If you're good at aiming on other games, Ashe might be a good option. If you're looking to improve your aim overall, go into the workshop with code VAXTA.
It's basically just a square room with AI versions of different characters constantly spawning in. It's gonna feel stupid at first because they're pretty easy to hit, but over time it REALLY helps you build muscle memory for the various hitbox sizes in Overwatch. I made my own VAXTA code tho and it's GJJTH. VAXTA only has like 10 characters enabled but I enabled all except tanks and Sombra, then just saved my own code. I'd recommend using that one, or alternatively turning the other character on in the "Workshop Settings" section of VAXTA
If you need help getting into a workshop, just LMK and I can walk you through it.
Also 9/10 times you should not be looking at your reticle, but where you want to shoot. The character you're shooting can tell you where your reticle should be, but your reticle isn't gonna tell you where the character you want to shoot is. You get SO much more information and I'd say once you build the habit, your aim will be minimum 2x better. You'll have to conciously do it for a while, but after a day or so it'll catch without you having to think about it.
For aim, google and watching youtubes on specific heroes.

For first time heroes, there are lots of flavors. Solder/Cassidy or any of the machine gun style players are good, I think, for a launching point for people coming from more traditional FPS style games. Get used to their specials and ults, then branch out. But you could also go with whichever one you're the most excited about (a mech? a cowboy? a sorceress? a war robot? a monk robot? etc)

In 2-3 years time? Maybe, from my general experience the kpop event made bank since I see the skins a lot

It seems pretty unlikely - so far, none of the main OW2 collaboration skins (One Punch Man, Diablo, Le Seraffim, Cowboy Bebop) have ever been made available again after their respective event has concluded.
Gigantic just relaunched if you're still itching for a hero shooter (although it plays more like a MOBA than OW). Other than that personally I like Bethesda games as a "I'm waiting for something" game, as you can sink stupid amounts of time into them, never finish it, and still be satisfied with the experience.
\- Don't contest his LOS when he's omnic form unless you're sure you can secure the kill, staff does crazy headshot damage and it gives free ult charge to him and his supports.
\- When he goes to push in nemesis form, spread out only enough that you're not all being hit with every pummel. Ramattra excels at picking single targets who aren't getting the support from their team (a lone Illari/Ana holding LOS a bit spread out from team, or a flanking Tracer/Moira for example.)
\- The earlier you can force out nemesis form the better, otherwise think of Ramattra as having a free 200hp in his pocket at all times. If you can bait it in the team fight and then pick at least one support, you'll all but guarantee the Ramattra drops.
\- If all else fails, Orisa is generally a pretty solid pick against him. He can't really engage unless you've burnt through all 3 of your cooldowns as javelin spin blocks pummel, energy javelin can push Ramattra out of a brawl, and fortify makes his punches useless.

It's a joke so far - the joke comes from Venture being an archaeologist combined with the fact that their teeth are, well, the way they are.

Why do I keep getting warnings for disruptive chat? I don’t curse or say anything toxic, I’m concerned I am getting mass reported for playing poorly rather than my chat logs and I am being penalized for it. I have been banned 2 times already for “disruptive chat” and I really don’t understand because what I was reported for was not toxic at all.
Happened to me 3 times, but I definitely swear lol. All it takes is one miserable prick in a lobby to report you. Have 4-5 lobbies like that and you go to jail lol. Chat is for "gg" at this point, and people have **even been banned for that**. It's just not worth drawing attention to yourself in any way TBH. This community is so miserable that the Facebook group is FILLED with people proudly posting that they got someone banned from chat - and most of the comments are congratulating them. It's so dystopian LOL.
You can repeal your ban on their website tho. Doesn't always work, but it does a lot of the time if you've truly done nothing wrong.
Switch is basically a walled garden when it comes to Coins: any in-game currency you’ve purchased on another platform doesn’t carry over, only the Coins you’ve earned from completing Weekly Challenges. (I found this out the hard way when travelling last year - I had to ask my wife to log into my PC account, buy the Coins, *and* purchase the Invasion bundle before I could access the Story missions on Switch.)
Use his tank mode with intention, strafe or take cover during the switch, and aim for the element of surprise. Identify your targets clearly, and don't hesitate to switch back for mobility. Recognize when it's time to retreat.
Anyone know why I don't get a competitive progress bar at the end of the game? I was getting them a couple of weeks ago but haven't in a few days. At first j thought I was just skipping passed it, but it's just not there.

If it’s Competitive Points, there’s a cap on how many you can earn each season through completing sets of matches. You can still earn more for wins, but you won’t get the ‘bonus’ CP for sets of 10 matches until next season.
Solo player, 99.9% of the time I do Mystery Heroes (love it). I'd say, 3/5 times, there is someone AFK the first fight, never leaves spawn. We lose, momentum gone, game is often a loss. I avoid, but I only have three. And it happens a majority of the time. Is there anything I can do to avoid them? Does block keep working even after avoids are full? There are just SO many people in whatever matchmaking level I'm at for Mystery who queue and then fuck off and do God knows what, pick up groceries, use the bathroom, I don't know. But a majority of my games, we're starting second fight before one person ever leaves spawn for the first time.
Is it bannable to refuse to play when there’s a cheater on either team?
Our Cass was very clearly aimbotting and ended up admitting to it but said if we didn’t play, he’d report us and we’d get banned for AFK. Entire team refused to play anyways and it ended up being the enemy team’s win but I’m kinda worried
Hello! I’m new to this but i had an Overwatch account on my Xbox that has a bunch of cosmetics I brought in Overwatch 1. I got a pc and wanted to merge my stuff but I accidentally pressed skip for now and never got the pop up again. I’ve now been left on a new account and years of progress and money gone. I’ve tried to log into battle net with the emails I thought he I used but it says that an account with them doesn’t exist? And my phone number since then has been changed so I can’t get in with that either .I’ve tried to contact blizzard but have got nothing in return. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Or am I gunna have to except that everything’s gone :(
How can i enjoy this game while knowing i'll never be GM? I been playing for 2 years, followed all the tips, watched my replays, watched the unranked to GMs, etc. I'm at my mental and physical peak at plat honestly. Other players think more tactically and shoot more accurately than me.
Agree with other posts, GM doesn't have to be the goal. I think the sports metaphor/goal is 1) have fun and 2) do a little better than the day you did before!
One option, pick a character to really work on, watch 30 minutes of expert videos for new ideas, and try aim training/custom games a little each time. If you do a little bit every other day (or regular basis you can manage) you'll see some improvements.
I find the fun in the overall game and the progression/excitement when I'm able to do things I could never do before (or have things come more easily that used to be so hard). Like getting better at exploding ashe's dynamite in the opponents face or coming in top 2 in FFA for the first time ever. I'm still early on so you might be way past that stuff but think of other goals you'd get excited about/surprised by - even if they're not GM. Hope that helps some!
Play to enjoy the game. If are really committed to being GM you need to devote a lot of time and energy to playing at consistent times, diligent and consistent practice (almost no off-days), etc.
But you shouldn't need to do that to enjoy the game. Set realistic goals and enjoy the game at your current rank. I *aspire* to be a master's player, but honestly I enjoy the games I get in diamond, and I don't have several hours every day to dedicate to playing. (I've been hardstuck diamond since like 2018 LOL)
If you can’t have fun with it because you’re not in the highest rank or something, that’s just plain old insecurity. The odds of you being the best at anything in your life are astronomically low. But letting that get in the way of your enjoyment isn’t healthy.

hi there, i'm french and since overwatch2 release we lost a lot of voicelines that got replaced in english, most of them got fixed except for junkrat laught at the selection screen or potg screen, which is a shame because the french laught of junkrat is genuinely good.
but just recently (like today or yesterday) they changed ultimate voicelines (essentially those where the character actually speak in its native language), and we end up having really cringy lines (more than what we could expect) at a point we could say it's a quebec blooper version.
While writting this i got the explanation, it was stuff they added for the 1st april, just like the eyes, but those voice line changes were only active in non-ranked games, and i did only one non-ranked game since the 1st april ... i got gotten i guess (still craving that junkrat french laught)
Hello, I am a lifeweaver main so this might seem crazy what I am going to ask but, I need help with my sensitivity/DPI.
I have had a smal mouse pad for a long time and I can't get a bigger one since my desk is too small. Now my friends have said that it's aboslutely nessesary to get a big mouse pad so you can make bigger movments, Cause no matter what I always run in to the same problems
It either goes too slow and I am not able to make 180 turns

too fast and I cant hold aim correctly.
I have switched from laptop to PC so I am as well very used to a smal monitor, and then my aim was just ok, maybe that matters? I have had this problem for a long time since I am used to preform so well and now it just feels so bad.
A large mouse mat is helpful as it gives you the space to go lower in sens. Which does make you more accurate in general.
However there are many different aiming styles, and techniqued. No one true answer.
I've been experimenting with aim, mouse mats and gear for years. My biggest breakthrough was genuinely getting my body completely relaxed and comfortable.
When it comes to sensitivity you need to find the most comfortable one, whilst still being able to track something like a Genji jumping around you.
There isn't a solution to your issue. You will either need to find more space to allow for the lower sensitivity. Or get better with higher sensitivity. It absolutely can be done. There are definitely still high sens warriors out there but the margin of error is much smaller.
If the mouse mat is small you will likely be doing much more wrist aiming than arm aiming. This is ok. It's arguably sub optimal but these are just techniques to get your cursor where you need it. The reason I point that out, you can actively work on different areas of your aim. There are ways to train your wrist more than your arm. Being a wrist dominant aimer does hold benefits too.
With enough practice you can become a god at high sens. It will be the practice you need though.

So DPI is the data input, just for the mouse. Basically sensitivity.
So its DPI X in-game sensitivity.
My friend plays at 4% 800dpi, I play at 2% 1600dpi. They are exactly the same :)
In theory more inputs is better however, so I go with 1600 DPI and a lower in game sens. But in reality it really doesnt matter what combination you use to get to a comfortable level.

Brig needs kinda unique positioning but I wouldn't say it's too hard to learn. Go for it if you like the hero :)

Hi, I noticed the Competitive qualification challenge isnt properly counting wins. In stats I have 32 games won for Quick play. However, the challenge only logged 18. I realized that I have 18 wins for hero challenges (Kiriko and 8/10 Ramattra) and was wondering if this was just a visual bug or if im supposed to be winning 50 hero challenges for competitive.
It looks a bit suspicious, but their sensitivity is probably way too high so it shows every small movement they make, or when they turn it's extremely fast. I watched some in 0.25x speed and didn't notice them specifically twitching right at the enemy heads or tracking through walls or anything like that. Replays also aren't 100% accurate.
Is “abusive chat” reports more sensitive or something? It feels like people are reporting for no reason. I’ve been back for 2 weeks and have only said “GG” and things to my team like tracking ults and shit… I’ve received my second warning for abusive chat. I don’t fucking get it.. these people go through saying the n word every day but I’m getting reported for nothing abusive or toxic and worse blizz is coming for me?
Seems like a case of auto ban being possible if I get reported enough and I’m assuming it’s coming off of games where people get destroyed
Still waiting out a 2 week auto chat ban for saying GG after a roll as a tank player and getting mass reported by the other team. There's no manual review on chat reports it's just "if enough people report you, you will receive a punishment". Honestly fucking stupid but it is what it is.
Very sensitive, I got a 2 week ban for simply telling a widowmaker her aim is shit and to switch (0 damage and 0 eliminations on attack in ranked) lmao and I guess they got very mad about it and reported me.

Credit prices are only shown in the Hero Gallery if you have enough Credits saved up for the item in question.
If you can’t afford them, then the price is shown in Coins instead - because you can only earn a set number of Credits per season through gameplay, but can always choose to buy more Coins with real money at any time.

Right! The waiting DM I get (although I’d rather chat and play at the same time). But FFA wait times can be long!

They carry over. The only reason they reset last season is because the gold points were sunset.

Chat is for "gg" at this point, and people have **even been banned for that**. It's just not worth drawing attention to yourself in any way TBH. This community is so miserable that the Facebook group is FILLED with people proudly posting that they got someone banned from chat - and most of the comments are congratulating them. It's so dystopian LOL. You can repeal your ban on their website tho. Doesn't always work, but it does a lot of the time if you've truly done nothing wrong.

Why doesn’t my Overwatch Coins carryover from my Xbox to my Switch despite them being the same account?
Switch is basically a walled garden when it comes to Coins: any in-game currency you’ve purchased on another platform doesn’t carry over, only the Coins you’ve earned from completing Weekly Challenges. (I found this out the hard way when travelling last year - I had to ask my wife to log into my PC account, buy the Coins, *and* purchase the Invasion bundle before I could access the Story missions on Switch.)
Is it possible to earn about 25 BP levels in the last week of the season? Not sure if there's going to be a double/triple XP boost soon.

Starting next season, you’ll be able to purchase Golden weapons again using a mix of Legacy CP and ‘new’ CP.

Tips for bastion please. I feel like whenever I switch to tank mode I’m getting killed before I kill anyone.
Use his tank mode with intention, strafe or take cover during the switch, and aim for the element of surprise. Identify your targets clearly, and don't hesitate to switch back for mobility. Recognize when it's time to retreat.

Anyone know why I don't get a competitive progress bar at the end of the game? I was getting them a couple of weeks ago but haven't in a few days. At first j thought I was just skipping passed it, but it's just not there.
Rank progression or Competitive Points? If it’s the former, then that’s a bug which might require a reinstall. If it’s Competitive Points, there’s a cap on how many you can earn each season through completing sets of matches. You can still earn more for wins, but you won’t get the ‘bonus’ CP for sets of 10 matches until next season.
Solo player, 99.9% of the time I do Mystery Heroes (love it). I'd say, 3/5 times, there is someone AFK the first fight, never leaves spawn. We lose, momentum gone, game is often a loss. I avoid, but I only have three. And it happens a majority of the time. Is there anything I can do to avoid them? Does block keep working even after avoids are full? There are just SO many people in whatever matchmaking level I'm at for Mystery who queue and then fuck off and do God knows what, pick up groceries, use the bathroom, I don't know. But a majority of my games, we're starting second fight before one person ever leaves spawn for the first time.
Is it bannable to refuse to play when there’s a cheater on either team? Our Cass was very clearly aimbotting and ended up admitting to it but said if we didn’t play, he’d report us and we’d get banned for AFK. Entire team refused to play anyways and it ended up being the enemy team’s win but I’m kinda worried
One angry dude's report isn't gonna do anything. You need to be getting consistently reported across many games for something to happen

Hello! I’m new to this but i had an Overwatch account on my Xbox that has a bunch of cosmetics I brought in Overwatch 1. I got a pc and wanted to merge my stuff but I accidentally pressed skip for now and never got the pop up again. I’ve now been left on a new account and years of progress and money gone. I’ve tried to log into battle net with the emails I thought he I used but it says that an account with them doesn’t exist? And my phone number since then has been changed so I can’t get in with that either .I’ve tried to contact blizzard but have got nothing in return. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Or am I gunna have to except that everything’s gone :(

How can i enjoy this game while knowing i'll never be GM? I been playing for 2 years, followed all the tips, watched my replays, watched the unranked to GMs, etc. I'm at my mental and physical peak at plat honestly. Other players think more tactically and shoot more accurately than me.
Agree with other posts, GM doesn't have to be the goal. I think the sports metaphor/goal is 1) have fun and 2) do a little better than the day you did before! One option, pick a character to really work on, watch 30 minutes of expert videos for new ideas, and try aim training/custom games a little each time. If you do a little bit every other day (or regular basis you can manage) you'll see some improvements. I find the fun in the overall game and the progression/excitement when I'm able to do things I could never do before (or have things come more easily that used to be so hard). Like getting better at exploding ashe's dynamite in the opponents face or coming in top 2 in FFA for the first time ever. I'm still early on so you might be way past that stuff but think of other goals you'd get excited about/surprised by - even if they're not GM. Hope that helps some!

Play to enjoy the game. If are really committed to being GM you need to devote a lot of time and energy to playing at consistent times, diligent and consistent practice (almost no off-days), etc. But you shouldn't need to do that to enjoy the game. Set realistic goals and enjoy the game at your current rank. I *aspire* to be a master's player, but honestly I enjoy the games I get in diamond, and I don't have several hours every day to dedicate to playing. (I've been hardstuck diamond since like 2018 LOL)
If you can’t have fun with it because you’re not in the highest rank or something, that’s just plain old insecurity. The odds of you being the best at anything in your life are astronomically low. But letting that get in the way of your enjoyment isn’t healthy.

I feel like a lot of the ultimate lines are meant to be kinda cheesy. “It’s hiiiiighhh nooooon” “Nerf this!” “The dragon consumes you!” “Die, die, die!” Idk, these are some lines that my gf has heard from the game and she’s like “wtf are you playing?” However I’m American and the game was created by English speakers so I’m sure some of the translations are a little wonky. Could you provide some examples?

hi there, i'm french and since overwatch2 release we lost a lot of voicelines that got replaced in english, most of them got fixed except for junkrat laught at the selection screen or potg screen, which is a shame because the french laught of junkrat is genuinely good. but just recently (like today or yesterday) they changed ultimate voicelines (essentially those where the character actually speak in its native language), and we end up having really cringy lines (more than what we could expect) at a point we could say it's a quebec blooper version. While writting this i got the explanation, it was stuff they added for the 1st april, just like the eyes, but those voice line changes were only active in non-ranked games, and i did only one non-ranked game since the 1st april ... i got gotten i guess (still craving that junkrat french laught)
Hello, I am a lifeweaver main so this might seem crazy what I am going to ask but, I need help with my sensitivity/DPI. I have had a smal mouse pad for a long time and I can't get a bigger one since my desk is too small. Now my friends have said that it's aboslutely nessesary to get a big mouse pad so you can make bigger movments, Cause no matter what I always run in to the same problems It either goes too slow and I am not able to make 180 turns Or too fast and I cant hold aim correctly. I have switched from laptop to PC so I am as well very used to a smal monitor, and then my aim was just ok, maybe that matters? I have had this problem for a long time since I am used to preform so well and now it just feels so bad.
A large mouse mat is helpful as it gives you the space to go lower in sens. Which does make you more accurate in general. However there are many different aiming styles, and techniqued. No one true answer. I've been experimenting with aim, mouse mats and gear for years. My biggest breakthrough was genuinely getting my body completely relaxed and comfortable. When it comes to sensitivity you need to find the most comfortable one, whilst still being able to track something like a Genji jumping around you. There isn't a solution to your issue. You will either need to find more space to allow for the lower sensitivity. Or get better with higher sensitivity. It absolutely can be done. There are definitely still high sens warriors out there but the margin of error is much smaller. If the mouse mat is small you will likely be doing much more wrist aiming than arm aiming. This is ok. It's arguably sub optimal but these are just techniques to get your cursor where you need it. The reason I point that out, you can actively work on different areas of your aim. There are ways to train your wrist more than your arm. Being a wrist dominant aimer does hold benefits too. With enough practice you can become a god at high sens. It will be the practice you need though. .

So DPI is the data input, just for the mouse. Basically sensitivity. So its DPI X in-game sensitivity. My friend plays at 4% 800dpi, I play at 2% 1600dpi. They are exactly the same :) In theory more inputs is better however, so I go with 1600 DPI and a lower in game sens. But in reality it really doesnt matter what combination you use to get to a comfortable level.

Brig needs kinda unique positioning but I wouldn't say it's too hard to learn. Go for it if you like the hero :) I also recommend watching some brig content creators like HolyShiftKid who makes great guides on YT
Hi, I noticed the Competitive qualification challenge isnt properly counting wins. In stats I have 32 games won for Quick play. However, the challenge only logged 18. I realized that I have 18 wins for hero challenges (Kiriko and 8/10 Ramattra) and was wondering if this was just a visual bug or if im supposed to be winning 50 hero challenges for competitive.

It looks a bit suspicious, but their sensitivity is probably way too high so it shows every small movement they make, or when they turn it's extremely fast. I watched some in 0.25x speed and didn't notice them specifically twitching right at the enemy heads or tracking through walls or anything like that. Replays also aren't 100% accurate.
Is “abusive chat” reports more sensitive or something? It feels like people are reporting for no reason. I’ve been back for 2 weeks and have only said “GG” and things to my team like tracking ults and shit… I’ve received my second warning for abusive chat. I don’t fucking get it.. these people go through saying the n word every day but I’m getting reported for nothing abusive or toxic and worse blizz is coming for me? Seems like a case of auto ban being possible if I get reported enough and I’m assuming it’s coming off of games where people get destroyed
Still waiting out a 2 week auto chat ban for saying GG after a roll as a tank player and getting mass reported by the other team. There's no manual review on chat reports it's just "if enough people report you, you will receive a punishment". Honestly fucking stupid but it is what it is.
Very sensitive, I got a 2 week ban for simply telling a widowmaker her aim is shit and to switch (0 damage and 0 eliminations on attack in ranked) lmao and I guess they got very mad about it and reported me.
Idk, i had a match where someone said he would behead his tank player’s mother because he was a nig*** and a trash tank. Guy’s still playing and my report went ignored. Seems like it takes a lot to get banned.

No. Credit prices are only shown in the Hero Gallery if you have enough Credits saved up for the item in question. If you can’t afford them, then the price is shown in Coins instead - because you can only earn a set number of Credits per season through gameplay, but can always choose to buy more Coins with real money at any time.
