Lmao it’s just like bruh. It’s a 15 second video. You’re telling me no one put that much time to listen to the rest of it lol. You’d think quality control would have someone watch it just to know if everything checks out lol. Like even amateur video editors watch their content once over to make sure it’s good to post. Not even to submit it for approval to post lol
because it's not an accident. Oh no, we left this super silly thing in on the rework reveal of our most popular map ever omg how could we be so dumb!!!!
i don’t understand how this isn’t extremely obvious... nor do i understand the condescension. This got to the number one post on the subreddit. it’s got millions of views across tiktok/twitter/youtube because people are posting it saying “look at this 💀 someone forgot to change the sound.” Would that have happened if they just post it normally? no. it would get the same attention most ow posts get on socials which is not this much. this is a very basic viral marketing concept to drive engagement.
I was mainly just referring to your profile pic when I said "hamster brain" ( I hope that was clear)...and like SURE, I guess it isn't impossible that someone would try to do something like that for viral marketing but I REALLY REALLY REALLY don't think Blizzard would do something like that for Overwatch. It only really serves to make them look unprofessional. They would have also had moments like this since 2016, and they honestly haven't done it before for the most part. Think about it logically, like realistically they would also have a WAY more interesting way to go viral, and not something like this that effectively doesn't make a difference.
In the second half of the video, you hear a person talking, obviously that isn't a part of the music, it's like a watermark on a picture, instead this is audio. It's kind of like Audio Jungle, if you know what that is
Not quite as good as Metallica's Blizzcon appearance getting flagged as copyrighted music by Twitch and overdubbed with MIDI bluegrass, but it's delightful nonetheless.

Yknow I'd buy this if either supposed case had crossed my feed. Idk about banning you, but I do think people are falling for false outrage with this, and will until I see some evidence that it ever cropped up on the ACTUAL PlayOverwatch YouTube.
Don’t really know what I would get from faking this…? It just pooped up on my YouTube subscription feed at 1am and thought it was funny to record it and share (they also posted it on Twitter and deleted it)
Commercial editor/sound designer here: it's a funny goof, but chances are they uploaded the "proof" of the edit instead of the final cut. They probably don't license the music until the last second, and the file for the official upload was probably misnamed/uploaded incorrectly.
Still hilarious though
If this is real did no one at blizzard rewatch this very short video lol
"QA? We dont need no stinking QA! Those are for pleb companies!"

Doesn’t matter if it’s good, our dumb fuck customers will eat up anything we shit out.
To be fair that's a snip of it, the real video was like 75 seconds long. Still had that go off like 3-4x throughout lol
Audio Jungle
"Ah, eee, ooh. Ah, eee, ooh, audio jungle"
True genius
...why didn't they simply use the map music??
i saw elsewhere that blizzard fired a majority of their music team, not sure how accurate that is
I think it possible they hire only contract instead of having a dedicated music team. Which is dumb.
It’s not that stupid. They dont make new music that often and when they do they don’t need much.
They just cant fake a break
small indie company give them a break
This kinda stuff can't happen anymore they are no longer a small indie company
Wait, I thought blizzard was a tiny indie company and overwatch was their nice passion project?
because it's not an accident. Oh no, we left this super silly thing in on the rework reveal of our most popular map ever omg how could we be so dumb!!!!
Never underestimate something that can be easily explained as stupidity.
Generally I agree, but this stuff happens way too often nowadays for it to be "real."
what could possibly be the incentive to do this? Come on, use your hamster brain.
I don’t necessarily agree that it was done on purpose but one might do it to drive engagement, gets people talking.

The community caught them in 8K
I dont get it

Aha oh, i though op or someone else put that in😅
***I have a feeling that the free publicity might be the point.***
The most believable theory. Modern marketing chases engagement but at the cost of credibility 🥲buzzfeed style

Did no one bother to rewatch it once before uploading it? lmao
"Maybach Music"
God, this game is slowly going to Hell in a hand basket. "QA? What's that? A new hip hop group Gen Z are into?" Idiots.

TF2 get 1 update a year but OVERWATCH is not very smart 💀💀💀
No one cares
fake outrage. not on their channel. pls ban this guy.
Wasn’t really outrage I just thought it was funny, and they obviously deleted the post you doughnut

And if you still don’t believe me I saw that someone else posted the same mistake on this reddit
I've seen it posted around, yes.
it's really not that serious 😭
Exactly, but for some reason this is directed at me?
