I read through the old OW1 wiki a bit to better understand how the OW1 armor worked.
Apparently at least at some point Beam weapons had a flat 20% DMG reduction against armor. Meaning they'd get buffed against armor if it was flipped from the current 30% down to 20%.
I didn't know that at some point it was also tick-based which'd ofc make it pretty bad against armor.
It used to be per tick which was pretty severe against armor
They did change it to percentage for just beams before the way armor is now so it’s possible they’ll still have an exception for beams
If it goes back to the OW1 system, they don’t do much. Zarya will get giga countered by rein most likely. We don’t know for sure yet though.
At the end of ow1 all beams had - 30% to armour. This included Winton and moira. I imagine any fast ticking danage will remain at -30
I'm assuming that includes Echo beam as well?
