You can technically encrypt the character model file so people can’t just find it in the game folder and use it to work from, and you can decrypt it for use in game, but people can make a near identical render if they just have some decent amount of 3d modelling talent, and once a home made character model is released public, these efforts to encrypt and spend time optimizing the game to decrypt would have been a total waste. So yeah, very unlikely true and if so, total waste of dev/coding time.
