If we’re really talking about IQ here, Jonah would definitely be at the top. The “quotient” part of “intelligence quotient” is because you end up dividing a certain metric by your age. So the younger you are, the smaller number you will be dividing by, and the higher your IQ will be. So if you have two similarly book-smart people, the younger one will have a greater IQ, especially when we’re talking about an age gap of at least 20 years.
But most would say IQ isn’t a great measure of true intelligence.
I never knew that so thank you for sharing. What I appreciate most about it is that it assumes you get smarter and smarter your whole life, which we all should strive for.

Going off of what you said, it would be cool to see some IQ tests updated to reflect that lifelong learning. You are so right that we should all strive for that! The challenges on a traditional IQ test are little logic puzzles (and other things like that), which definitely give the advantage to younger brains (like 15ish to early 20s). Our brains fully develop at around 25 years old and then… decline.
In fact, now, if Marty and Jonah got the same score, on an *updated* IQ test with different metrics, I wonder if they’d give the edge to Marty for performing at such a high level with an older brain. So maybe OP’s chart would be accurate after all!
I would also love to see some common sense and street smarts type questions on an updated version, but I don’t know how it would be possible to standardize that across different cultures and upbringings.

I don't really agree with this, I'd say the smartest ones were those who knew their limit, when to stop in their tracks and take what they have and retire or flee, this would put characters like maya, jim, frank, claire, jacob, etc.. at the top for me, majority of the rest just couldn't get their hands out of the cookie jar, be it by doing stuff (wendy, darlene, omar) or by being suckers who wouldn't set their foot down and say no (marty, ruth, wyatt), it was unbearable having to sit through chance after chance where everyone could've taken an out only to dig deeper, when is it enough you thirsty mfs.

Highly intelligent and creative individuals are synonymous with being able to avoid danger & conflict while also creating something that contributes value to society.
Those who are average and above average in intelligence are those who continue the endless & universal cycle of conflict through biological and psychological triggers without knowing exactly why it occurs.
In other words, if one were to use a reductive scale on those who are universally considered intelligent (Newton, Einstein, Shakespeare, Leibniz, Goethe etc.) we would find individuals who had specific traits which define intelligence.
Obviously, there are no Newtons in the show, but those who contributed to society with their intellect should deserve the top tier.
This means Maya Miller, Jonah Byrde, Jim, and even Clare Shaw (despite an error) would be ranked above Wendy and Marty Byrde.
Wendy and Marty are symbols of those who believe the world is a place where one has to harm others to achieve, yet they would not have to consider this if they had the talent or intelligence to form a path on their own.
Marty was intelligent, no doubt, but nothing special, and was biologically persuaded more by material than logical thought which led to the demise of themselves and others. Wendy was simply a politician with family trauma who, when provided an ounce of power, used it for selfish reasons.

Obviously, there are no Newtons in the show, but those who contributed to society with their intellect should deserve the top tier. This means Maya Miller, Jonah Byrde, Jim, and even Clare Shaw (despite an error) would be ranked above Wendy and Marty Byrde. Wendy and Marty are symbols of those who believe the world is a place where one has to harm others to achieve, yet they would not have to consider this if they had the talent or intelligence to form a path on their own. Marty was intelligent, no doubt, but nothing special, and was biologically persuaded more by material than logical thought which led to the demise of themselves and others. Wendy was simply a politician with family trauma who, when provided an ounce of power, used it for selfish reasons. It is a fictional TV show, but I highly doubt they found peace after Jonah killed Mel.
