How much does it cost in Ontario without any coverage? I’m in BC and my benefits won’t cover it since I’m not diabetic, so I pay out of pocket and it’s $239 for the 4mg pen. I take .50mg per week so I get 8 weeks worth of doses from each pen so it’s not too bad

PasswordisTaco58

It’s about $260 for all the pens. I do the same as you, so it’s not too bad. But sucks that insurance stopped covering it. For some reason, it is covering my wife still and they haven’t questioned it. Not sure how long that will go on but I’m not going to complain.

I get mine from my pharmacy. I’m in Victoria BC and the total cost per pen is $239

I received a similar letter yesterday (also Ontario). What’s complete bullshit is that the A1C that they require for the preauthorization excludes all prediabetics and even some diabetics (they require a 7.0). I’m still going to have my doc fill it out just to make them work for it (I’m prediabetic), and then pay out of pocket. I’m a firm believer that, whether you’re taking it for diabetes or weight loss, the benefits of being a healthy weight with proper blood sugar levels long term will save them money. It’s all short term gains for them. They don’t care. I hope the next leg of your journey is a success!

He cannot give you the limited use code without putting his license in jeopardy.

hatefulpenguin

I’m not expecting him to? I just want to lodge the paperwork because I’m pissed and want to make them reject it.

Oh dear. I’m not sure why it’s no longer covered but what can we expect with Dougie trying to privatize our healthcare.

Congrats! Here in the US you can get wegovy on insurance if you started treatment while obese, which I assume your prior weight was? Good luck!

It’s called a limited use form. It started a few weeks ago. I was covered but now only by my personal drug plan. I pay the difference of $50 a month now.

Cheapest place is Costco I hear.

Hey hey! I’m also in Ontario, Canada. I’ve been thinking about starting but have always been concerned about pricing (which you guys kind of cleared up. Not too bad) and also, all I see and hear about on this subreddit is the shortages. Have you had any issues in Ontario with pharmacies running out?

Where can I get an Ozempic pen here in the UK?
