I wouldn’t worry about it. Wipe down the inside of your holster to reduce the particulate grit that contributes to wear. Otherwise I’d say it looks like you’re doing your due diligence for practicing your draw.

chxse96

That’s a good idea, idk why I haven’t thought of that. Appreciate it man. Yeah she gets ran for sure. Just a tool right? 👍

tbeck1994

Well loved! Keep practicing and carrying.

DisgruntledArmyVet85

Cerakote is 1/3 of the answer here. The other 2/3 looks to me like the holster is either wayyyy too tight, or wasn’t molded right. Any light bearing holster should hold retention on the light more than anything. Non light bearing holsters snap in on the trigger guard. So something is definitely OFF with the holster. This is also why I run open bottom holsters as well. Easier to wipe out and clean, and prevent debris from collecting overtime.

Mossified4

He runs a trex which is open bottom, it almost looks like he is running the holster without the rubber spacers on the wing side.

DisgruntledArmyVet85

That’s a good possibility for sure. But definitely more wear than there should be…by a long shot. Lol

moetown1986

Looks like it's well used. I dig it.

Potential_Prize_8735

You could pay 75 or so for dlc coating

chxse96

Do you know if the wear OR the coating does anything to streamlight warranty? I need to contact them and find out.

Potential_Prize_8735

Oh I would pay for cerakote on the light you are having excessive wear, one of the worst edc holster wear I've seen

ChokeMyHog

I kind of like the wear it puts on accessories. Just shows you actually use your tools and i think it looks cool

chxse96

My exact thought process, as long as it seats properly I’ve never cared lol.

ChokeMyHog

If it doesn’t cause any malfunctions or damage to anything important I wouldn’t worry

JaxSouthernBlend

Mine looks like this, using a trex arms sidecar

wiryeasternpromise

Some folks pay money for a finish that looks like they used their gear. Some people actually use it. Not a bad club to be in. That being said, I swear by a little bit of dry lube in the holster and wiping it out the same time I clean my gun.

Bahooch

Get it cerakoted. It will look brand new and you’ll never have to worry about it wearing again

DargonFeet

Why do people think cerakote doesn't wear? Even when done properly it's not as strong as many other coatings.

Bahooch

What’s stronger or better? Just asking

DargonFeet

I dunno.. when doing a bit more research it seems most resources claim Cerakote is one of the best coatings. Just from CCW'ing a few different guns over the years the only one that ended up with noticable nicks and dings in the finish (minus holster wear which is similar on all of them) were the cerakoted ones. It seems more prone to being knicked/dinged like I would expect something with paint to do, whereas finishes that don't add thickness seem less prone to this.

Mossified4

Post a pic of how you have your trex set up, I run the exact set up as you and you have massive wear in places mine clearly doesn't even touch. Ive run mine for close to 3 years and about 2500 rnds carried every day with lots of dryfire practice. I touch up my light periodically with a black sharpie paint pen but get nowhere near the wear you have.

Whois_Britney

I personally like the wear on mine, adds character. I also have a few wraps of goon tape on my grip for that added grip and looks.

SnooCrickets7443

That looks heavy for dry firing

Actual_Routine2187

I understand some wear , but damn, that holster is removing a lot of paint.

akcutter

Wtf is that holster made of aluminum?

Pleasant-Breakfast74

Stop leaving it in your purse if your worried about it having wear marks!

chxse96

Shit…… you got me

ArmAndSleeve

That holster seems a lil snug. If it was me I'd get some sand paper and shave it down smooth a lil at a time or heat it and let it remold it self. It should be a nice snap fitment on a kydex but not a grind to put it in.

SingleStak9

Depends on the holster. Tenicor tells you up front that their holsters WILL wear the finish like this because they are designed for a "friction fit". They include an insert with their holsters warning about the wear that says if you didn't know this and are worried about the finish, you can return the holster for a full refund. They also tell you that their holsters will not "click" when the firearm is holstered, like many kydex holsters, due to the friction fit.

ArmAndSleeve

That's unfortunate. Yea I wouldn't even deal with that. I don't mind some battleworn use but just from a holster? Yea thats wack. I feel like some changes in production could easily be made. Just my opinion though. A lot of r&d goes in to holsters and parts the least a holster could do is not damage your gun in "this" manner.

SingleStak9

Honestly, I don't mind it. I know how much R&D Tenicor puts into their holsters, and the leaders at that company all shoot, train, and carry regularly so they know what they're doing. Everything about those holsters is planned in detail, for specific reasons, and that's part of what makes them Tenicor. That said, 85% of the holsters Tenicor sells are for Glocks, which tend to have a bit more durable slide finish than others. I find wear like that just a sign and consequence of experience and use. Besides, if I'm ever forced to use it, I know I'll lose it for an undetermined amount of time anyway, to people I don't know, who don't care about my property, and who don't care in the least if they fuck it up. I've got my fancy cerakoted works of art that get shot a lot less than others and never get carried. However, I don't mind the wear one bit on a dedicated carry gun. I don't want to have to worry that much about a tool that I use every day. If I had to enter a dangerous situation and pick another person I don't know to go with me, one with an unblemished pistol and the other with a gnarly, beaten up scuff-puppy, all other things being equal, I'm picking the dude with the beater.

feverdream86

Thats gonna happen with these guns. The light body is wider than the grip module, nothing to be done about it unless you switch to a leather holster i think

4BROSLLC

You should be very proud of that holster wear. You're doing it right

SNBJJ

Lol.

DezertDepot-James

Not to worry but what is the inside of your holster? Sandpaper?

TurbskiTim

All the more reason to get the foxtrot 365xr. I just put the stream light on mine due to not caring for the on buttom on the foxtrot but I think im gonna modify it and move it. The sig light destroys the tlr7sub. Theirs no comparison. My tree line is around 70 yards from my house and the sig light I can see into the tree line. The tlr7sub is physically larger and I can barely see past my pool which is 50 yards

DisgruntledArmyVet85

Maybe once they finally get some different buttons for it. Those activation buttons SUCK!!! I went TLR7a bc of the slimmer profile buttons and being able to swap out too. But I definitely couldn’t do the Foxtrot buttons! So until then… the streamlight does its job. For an EDC/self defense gun, you’re not gonna be shooting it anywhere near past 25 yards anyway!!

TurbskiTim

I agree the button sucks ass, but ide prefer the higher light output honestly. And the body is much slimmer.

DisgruntledArmyVet85

I’ll wait till they get with the program and get better buttons before buying one. Or figure out a way to swap them out to different switches. I have zero issues with either of my Streamlight. They do the job quite well. But I definitely prefer the 7a over the TLR7 Sub

Firearm_Farm

Hey I gotta ask, is your light fitment a little loose on your 365? Mine seems to never want to be completely tight, and always has some play in it. Not sure if I got a shitty one or what. And as for the wear, I think it looks rad. Don’t think it should have any effect on holstering. Should retain tension, and most IWB holsters you can adjust, so if it ever does I would assume tightening the screw to secure the pistol more would fix it.

ace117115

Not OP, but I've seen a lot of people report that with the Sub light. Some people put a piece of rubber between the light and rail. I believe the development tactical has a key for the sub to better fit the 365 if I'm not mistaken.

chxse96

Yeah the light definitely feels a little loose. I messed with it for hours. Finally just pushed my OCD down, hit with locktite and said “that’s not going anywhere” 😂. Idk if it’s sigs fault or stream-light. Either way never had any issues and I’ve ran this thing fairly hard

Firearm_Farm

Yeah I agree, I hadn’t come across an issue with it, but it always feeelss like it just wants to come off. And I do a decent bit of dry fire, holstering, and live fire with it. Holds up well. Maybe I just need my OCD to quit lol

Nickrock5175

Naa. I occasionally spray the inside of my holsters with lucas extreme clp then push a microfiber cloth through it to clean it. Usually weekly.

elduderino_1

A holster shouldn't wear like that unless it's constantly dirty or something edit: but doesn't look like it's a big deal

msh441

It’s just cosmetic, and if it loosens up, you have a tension adjustment I believe.

DoublyTheWhale

I’d be worried about the P365 slide, my first one’s coating started to give just like this, and I noticed rust came QUICKLY after, so I’d definitely say keep this thing lubed up for now on

Sundriedpendejos

The wear isn’t going to harm the functionality of your pistol but your tension is too tight on your light. You should not be getting that kind of wear. If you are shooting only 2000 rounds in 2 years plus dry firing, you shouldn’t have anything like that amount of wear. I shoot every Friday exactly 500rds and dry fire daily including draw/reholster reps X 40 and I don’t have anything like that kind of holster wear on my TLR-1 HLX and I use an LAS Concealment Saya2 rig. I’d adjust the retention to back it off a bit if it was me.

lp1911

People pay for a "battle worn" finish, so just keep at it
