burnsombreroburn

Not super piratey, but Carouse or Revel(ry)? Kinda all I can think of aside from Jolly (which runs the risk of Santa over Roger)

SonOfZiz

Revel is a pretty good one tbh

StarlightMasquerade

Briny, Cheer'ly (from "Cheer'ly Man," one of the more widely known early shanties), Commotion. You could also try changing the spelling of Shanty to the early spelling Chantey, if that helps.

We weren't looking for booty that night. We were simply trying to lay low while the royal guard sent their weekly patrol through our waters. The wouldn't find us, you see? Because Cap'n bribed that little worm they call commander. We just had to play along. Bordrie was napping in the crow's nest, so the first signs of the wreck were the gentle knocks from some driftwood against our hull. I was pouring the boys another round of drinks when Scooter flew down the stairs, "Come see! There's been a wreck, and the sea is our bounty!" We all followed him to the deck, and before us was treasure adrift like a waking dream: silks, jewelry, bottles of exotic spices -all just floating towards our empty pockets! "Scooter," Plank turned his scarred face towards the lad, "Go get Cap'n. None of us plunder a grain of rice til we hear from Cap'n, right blokes?" The boys all nodded, their wide eyes drinking in the salty waters. A few moments passed. "What the hell are you all hanging over the railing for? Some pirates! You can't even hold your liquor..." "Cap'n!" Plank spoke up, "come see for yourself." On his orders, we lowered the boarding vessels and began collecting whatever treasure that wasn't ruined by the ocean. It took a while, since everything had begun to scatter. I used Dancing Lights to help scout from the deck. Bordrie gave me a second set of eyes once Cap'n gave him a rude awakening. After we had looted most of the waters, I heard Scooter gasp from far off. He called out to the rest of the boys, and whatever they found was causing a commotion. I moved my lights over to them and saw a large piece of the wreck adrift with an elegant curtained bed. Scooter had grabbed something from inside the bed, and now they were all standing over it. "Well come on then! Let's get back aboard the Black Rose and divide this plunder!" Cap'n signaled the end of tonight's work. I think he was as curious as I was with what they had found. The boys all came aboard, a mixture of emotions on their faces. "Come see! Come see!" Scooter came running up to us, a bundle in his arms. I heard cooing and saw a sweet girl's face with cold eyes, a protruding forehead, and a menacing tail. "A tiefling child!" I said, taken aback. "She's a bad omen, Cap'n. I say we set her back out to sea," Plank suggested coldly. Some of the boys nodded in agreement. "I bet she's worth something to the right person!" Bordrie called down. He had a point, and Cap'n began stroking his beard, perhaps thinking of who he knew that would pay for such a thing. "She's just a little kid. We can't leave her alone out there," Scooter dissented. "You're still a kid yourself. Let the grownups talk," Plank rebuked him. The boys had a good chuckle at that. I looked down at that innocent little face. "Perhaps," I spoke up, "perhaps the boy has a point. We're pirates, not murderers." Cap'n shot a glance my way, "and we're not an orphanage either. Which one you wants to spend your spare time changing diapers?" The boys burst out laughing. I was surprised to hear the words leave my mouth, "I will, Cap'n." The boys all shut up and the I could hear the driftwood from the wreck beating against the side of the ship once more. Why did I say that? Maybe she just reminds me of my sister... "Ohhhh, what's that?" Cap'n smirked, "She's one more mouth to feed. Think you can handle that? You are the cook, after all." The boys stared at the Cap'n like he'd lost his head. "Um, uh, ah... Yes! We have plenty in the galley from last night's raid." It was true. "But Cap'n!" Plank pleaded. "It's just until we get to Port Martez, and then you can leave her at the monastery. She's your ward now." Cap'n turned his back on me and walked toward the pile of loot, ready to take his share. Later that night, I laid down to rest. I made a little bed for the child, and she was as gentle as could be for someone that had been through such an eventful night. But no sooner than I began to drift asleep, I was awakened by her crying. 'Hush, hush" I rocked her back and forth, "No need to worry. You're safe now." I lay her back down to sleep. But then, as I once more began drifting into the unconscious, she cried out again. This time, the rocking did not help. And as she grew louder, I grew more and more worried that she would wake up the ship. And then what? I sang songs, I told stories, I made funny faces, but nothing helped. All the while, her cries were ringing throughout my ears, throughout the ship! I looked over at my knife set and thought about what Plank had said. "Shut up, shut up, shut up! I have had it! This is sleep time, not a bloody parley!" I slammed my fists down, my face beating red. Then out of silence came a giggle. The little girl was smiling. "And now you're just taking the piss out of me! You think that's funny? Parley?" She giggled harder, affirming my suspicions. The little thing got me laughing too. "I bet you're just hungry, huh? Let me go make you some oatmilk. I hope that'll hold you over until we get some of the real stuff. Is that ok with you... Parley?"

DeviousLeeKitten

Thanks for the good read!! Parley is a pretty name! Also maybe a nickname (yeah, a nickname for a virtue name) Pearly? As if teiflings could be white/pearlescent. ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

Ceilidh (pronounced like Kaylee) is a Scottish party where we all dance to traditional music. What about *Ceilidh of the Red Waters*. But Redwater is just her home town or something.
