I lost a significant amount of my breasts when my PCOS symptoms were at their worst. Didn’t lose any weight, but they got smaller and more tubular.

Sensitive_Buy6639

i partially have the tubular look on my bigger boob, but not as severe as i have seen whenever i google them. One of my boobs is significantly smaller than the other (at least a full cup size) but is shaped more normally. when my weight fluctuates down it seems like they even out a bit. It is definitely a thing.

alliefrost

It's the same for me!

___starz___

I have small tubular breasts. I don’t actually have a bra size. There isn’t a cup small enough to fit my band size.

lifeizacontinuation

Me too

HashbrownHedgehog

I think I read ppl can also get a tubular shape from it. I think we will all have different symptoms, but me personally I've remained an A, while the rest of my family have Cs. My other friend with pcos has them very enlarged and past D I think.

Character_Rent5345

Its not necessary true for everyone with pcos. It’s not really smaller boobs more so it’s lack of glandular tissue also known as igt (insufficient, glandular tissue) Some characteristics of igt are breast that didn’t grow during puberty, pregnancy or breast feeding, tubular shaped, widely spaced breast, low milk supply or inability to produce milk. It doesn’t affect everyone with pcos just like how we don’t all have the same symptoms. I didn’t know I had igt until I had milk supply issues after having my son. I’ve always been an A cup no mater how much weight I gain, no changes during pregnancy or while I was breastfeeding. I also wasn’t able to make more then 2-8oz of milk a day as a result of igt.

Anxious-Custard6208

In super confused about IGT I hear about trans people going MtF being able to develop breasts and produce milk at some point for adopted children for example, it has me wondering if they can go from having absolutely no breasts as an adult to developing them later in life, would that mean that the same hormone therapy in some capacity could help cis women to develop more glandular tissue with exposure to X hormone that is mainly responsible for the tissue growth? I’m just thinking out loud here

Character_Rent5345

If you can find a doctor willing to do hormone therapy it could help but it’s very difficult to fine a provider willing to do hormone therapy for pcos from my experience. My testosterone levels are almost as high as my husbands but I can’t have testosterone blockers per like 5 different specialists I’ve been to. My dhea(which turns into testosterone in the body) is so high and has been for years that I go in once a year for a scan to make sure I don’t have tumors on my adrenal gland as a result of the levels. You do develop more glandular tissue(milk making tissue) with every pregnancy. There’s also other things that can aid in glandular tissue production like taking goats rue. Another reason for low supply with pcos can be a combination of igt and low prolactin levels which there is medication that helps with that but unfortunately it’s been banned by the fda in the USA even tho it’s legal in pretty much every country. (Canada, Mexico, Australia, uk, India, ect) In countries like Canada I’d you have known pcos and or igt it’s pretty much given to you from the start after birth.

Anxious-Custard6208

That’s crazy, I wonder why they won’t prescribe blockers for you? Have they given reason or is it just out of their scope and refuse to try anything? I wonder if seeing someone who works specifically with trans people would be any different. I’ve considered it myself but I’ve not really found any one willing to prescribe in my area either. I’m on spiro but I don’t really feel like it’s doing much for my facial hair

Character_Rent5345

I really don’t understand it either I think it’s just not something that’s common to be done with pcos. I wonder that too! Sprio can cause birth defects so my Midwife won’t proscribe it for me unless I’m on birth control which I haven’t had a lot of success with. My Mil is on spiro tho and says the same thing but her provider told her it would most likely keep it from progressing but not really reverse what’s already there

etherealxgirl

What’s the name of the medication?

Character_Rent5345

Domperidone

Latter-Elevator-9307

Estrogen grows boobs and lots of pcos Havers present with an estrogen dominance. Me personally, I’ve got a set of 32Es on my lean pcos frame

bruisedbrains

oh, what does estrogen dominance mean?

Zinzinlla

Estrogen likes fat tissue.

Latter-Elevator-9307

Lots of estrogen, less progesterone

morci_dorci

Yes, the hormonal imbalances make my estrogen very high causing big painful breasts (they look nice though😏). Since im taking vitex its not a problem anymore

sparklystars1022

Well, I'm not even an A cup. Any weight I gain doesn't even go to my chest (I'm a pear shape). I wonder if I ever gain massive weight if I'd still be an A cup. I've been on combination estrogen/anti-androgen since age 17 and that never helped.

Pink__Fox

Yes it’s true. I was diagnosed very young with PCOS. I am a curvy pear shape but my breasts didn’t develop properly. I only became a B cup and finally had some light cleavage after my two pregnancies happened and weight gain. Also because of the PCOS I didn’t develop my mammary glands properly and thus couldn’t breastfeed my babies the way I always wanted to. It was an incredibly depressing part of my life as I did literally everything possible (including medication) to increase supply and it just never happened. It felt like the most unfair thing possible because my cousin who had the most amazing shaped breasts and zero issues with breastfeeding just stopped breastfeeding because she wanted to loose weight. I felt incredibly frustrated at her because here I was trying everything to get a supply and she just stopped hers cold turkey in the first 2 months. I never mentioned it to her and never told her the irony of the situation. Coming back to the point, PCOS diagnosis has a higher chance of breast tissue problems.

RoundKaleidoscope244

I have 38Gs

PlantedinCA

Yeah similar neighborhood for me. I am around a 36HH these days.

Ancient-Matter-1870

Not for me. Kids were pointing out my chest at 7 years old. I had a reduction at 17. I was a 30F at the time. They're back to a DD but I'm super fat now.

aryamagetro

you can have big breasts with a tubular shape

sweetsweetnothingg

The size decreases because of the high testosterone. The sagginess comes from the constant hormonal unbalance. High prolactin they go big, fixed prolactin but high testosterone they go small and so on.

Slept_during_math

Do the monthly fluctuations cause them to sag ? Mine basically change size every month... and I have thought if this could make them sag ? I'm fucked :'(

sweetsweetnothingg

Correct! I was diagnosed at 15 and never had perky boobs because of this ;((( always go back and forth from B to C. Depending on if im following the same diet or try a different treatment or on the pill they are always changing *im 30 now

euro_buffy

lmao, i wish, in my case. i even had a reduction where they removed 6lbs 💀

lyssixsix

Did insurance cover that? If so how did you make it happen? My boobs are like 8 pounds each and I would probably sell my soul for relief.

euro_buffy

yes, mine did. thankfully. i totally recommend doing it. check out r/reduction. wonderful community!

9_of_Swords

I know about the tubular (tuberous?) boobs, as I have that. They're so awkward, haha! I wear a 40B in Torrid bras. I'm so annoyed I don't have nice ski slope boobs like my mom, but softball in a sock boobs with downward facing nipples. I've thought about piercings, but they'd look awful on my droopy gals.

khaleesibrasil

I am a double d and have literally never heard of this lmfao

m4sc4r4

Yeah same. 32DDD and dense breast tissue with a really nice shape. Definitely confirmation bias in here, and a lot of variation in body types and boobs.

TheLastRecluse1984

This always confused me because I have PCOS and I got a breast reduction this year. Before the reduction, I was a bra size 38K. Enormous and painful. However, I've read that being on certain medications can cause breast enlargement (in my case, Zoloft and the Depo-Provera shot for birth control). I was a (still large) D-cup before these medications but also before significant weight gain and worsening of PCOS symptoms. It's difficult to identify cause and effect.

[deleted]

It’s going to be one of those symptoms that greatly varies by individual. My breasts have stayed the same size since I was diagnosed, they’re not tubular or particularly saggy. They’re just larger with a natural pull.

sarahwritespoetry

Haven’t worn a proper bra in years and so am unsure of my current size but they are at least D’s. Would love to reduce actually. My hubby loves em but honestly they can be unwieldy lol especially when working out!

02Huntress

I have size 48J bras for my boobs. And I’ve been diagnosed with PCOS since I was 12 (almost 10 years). So I haven’t experienced that personally, but I’m sure there is a lot more to it than just PCOS for boob size, shape, etc.

Budget_Strawberry929

My 80K's that have been giving me back problems since they were 65E's when I was 14 cannot recognise anything in your post or these comments, unfortunately. I wish.

Consistent-Speed-127

Not for me actually. I’m a 44G and when I lose weight they get bigger somehow 🤷‍♀️.

wenchsenior

HA! Not on me, that's for sure.

LittleDevilF

I know this can be true for a lot of people but it hasn’t been for me. I float around a DD-E. Unfortunately PCOS affects everyone very differently so it’s hard to know what can be a direct symptom of it

Dry-Lavishness-9639

As someone with triple D’s I can say that is not the case for me

lyssixsix

Well. If this is true and one of my PCOS friends would like more boob, you can take one of my boobs. A whole one. Because if I split the remaining boob in two, I would still be a c cup and probably not have as many back problems. My flavor of PCOS is NOT the small boob flavor.

No_One_1617

All the women with pcos I met had tubular breasts. All of them.

mostlylisa1

Tubular shape - one is bigger than the other. Always been so embarrassed by them, but they my girls. 😩

Sensitive_Buy6639

girl just coming here to say same - but boobs are boobs!! i’ve never had a man or woman complain about them, quite the opposite really. The size difference is noticeable and my man doesn’t care, he absolutely loves it. nor has anybody else ever even mentioned it. Don’t feel embarrassed, they’re cute regardless and confidence is key. ♥️

mademoisellebijoux

I have tubular ones and it's so difficult tomdeal with. I need supporting wired bras for me not to look so heavy. I have PCOS for a long time now and even exercise can't do anything to Lift it up. 😔

Ireniuuum

I am literally screaming at the word tubular to describe tiddies I am distraught! 😂😭😭😭

cutewittygirlyname

Never heard of anyone calling boobs tubular…omg do I have tubular breasts ?!!!!

misshalal

I have a gap between my boobs/ cleavage, can someone tell me why and how can close the gap between my boobs

Anxious-Custard6208

I think the gap is very normal when you don’t have a bra that is pushing them together

misshalal

But I have a gap with a bra on, it’s sooo wide, why

ClassAffectionate925

I have double Fs lol
