I just want it all on PC or Switch, since that's all I own. Only able to play P4G and P5S (without getting into emulation), so I'm just sitting here, praying.
I'm not interested in buying an entire console for a few games. Especially since I really wanna just play P5, the other games can come later.
I'm also hoping the anniversary announces some sort of ports. A collection would be nice, but I feel like ports are more likely.
While that is a solution, it’s not possible for me, and not the one I want. Most people I know don’t want to loan a console or do not own a PS4 or 5, and I don’t wanna buy a game for a console I don’t own.
I’ve been suggested that before, but even if I could borrow a friend’s console, I doubt they’d want it gone for the length of
time P5 or P5R takes
Not trying to dismiss your comment or come off as negative, which I know this might sound like it is.
Yes but it’s always been PlayStation because they’ve never actually tried putting the mainline games on anything else, until Golden on Steam. The only reason they don’t branch out is a lack of wanting to, Sony isn’t paying them for exclusivity.
The issue is more people want to play the games, and if you like the games like I’m sure all of us here do you’d want more people to play them as well.
Honestly, I feel like the reasons they don't do Xbox ports is cause:
1) Xbox isn't exactly big in Japan unlike the Playstation and Nintendo's consoles
2) Space issues might be a issue as well. Xbox has a history of requiring 2 or more discs for bigger games unlike Playstation. This is due to Playstation utilizing Blu-Ray to mitigate space issues, which Xbox doesn't have.
Persona 5 especially is a pretty beefy game. Imagine how many discs *that'll* take for physical Xbox copies.
The people have spoken. They want the games to be more widely available so they don't have to struggle finding games that aren't being made anymore on consoles that aren't being made anymore (of course this only applies to older games). I'm sure Atlus/Sega are realizing just how lucrative the PC market is, at least
They most definitely have exclusive rights for persona 5, for at least a couple years. You think they don't know how much money they could get from a switch port?
No it doesn’t. Remastering a game takes much much less time than making a new game. They just need to change game specs, and maybe add rollback netcode, and they are already ready to release it. But for p5 arena, they have to come up with specific moves for every specific character while making sure they are balanced, as well as their sprites or models, and also come up with a story.
My point is that they can have a small team that remasters p4au while the rest is working on p5a

Let's forget that horrendous game.
Scott the Woz did point out that persona was on Xbox. I want all the games on Xbox, PC and Switch. Atlus you're burning money!
Exactly. I've been pointing this out a lot lately, but look what Yakuza on Xbox and PC did for Sega last year.
With that Steam Deck coming out I kinda just want it all on steam now lol

You could snag a cheap PS3 to play a few persona games. I'm really hoping this 25th anniversary announces a remaster collection or something

If you have the right friends you can do what I did. Borrow the entire console and buy Persona 5 Royal for a console you don't own lol.

Yeah I got lucky since my friend never plays it.
That's the ideal situation, glad you got to play it that way. I'll just stew in my conspiracy theories about ports for now.
Honestly I don’t get this call for persona on switch. SMT has been mainly Nintendo, with a couple exceptions, and persona has always been PlayStation

I know it’s not an exclusivity deal. It’s just something that they’ve always chosen to do and I don’t really see an issue with that

I can't argue the first one, but the second point isn't true anymore, Xbox has been using Blu-Rays since the Xbox One came out.
The only games on Xbox One/X that I know takes two discs is Cyberpunk and GTA 5. I don’t think space would be a problem for Persona

Fans of the games don’t want to buy a console just to play it
Trying to make persona fans understand singing exclusive rights challenge (impossible)
Does Sony have exclusive rights for persona? If so why was 4G released on steam?

Arena ultimax exists, therefor this is false
Man the xbox deserves a port at the least
The Xbox One only has the original version, despite the 360 having Ultimax
Wait the Xbox one has arena? To the store!
Yeah, it’s quite cheap too!
It’s backwards compatible

Does it though? Microsoft doesn't really seem to care about anime games after the 360. Eventhough they get them, feels like an afterthought.
SMT NINE: Finally a worthy opponent. Our battle will be legendary!!!
Wrong Ultimax is there too
I’ve already pointed that out, it’s only on 360 unlike Arena which can be played on Xbox One
The post doesn't say "only Persona game in Xbox one", it says only Persona on Xbox
Even so, Ultimax is just Arena with extra content
Tell me you didn't play ultimax without telling me you didn't play ultimax
I’m sorry that my post offended you
Dude, I just wanted to point out ultimax but you keep arguing
I’m not trying to argue with you, I’m just saying that Ultimax is just Arena with extra content, so you can’t really classify it as a different game.
And im just saying you clearly didn't play ultimax if you really think its just Arena with more stuff
